The gem of Keene, NH. Consistently delicious and artisanal. Their bread and pastries are literally a taste of Europe.

I've been searching for a truly authentic loaf of sourdough bread since returning to NH two years ago. Finally found it from Fire Dog at Roy's Market in Peterborough! Exterior is heartily crusty; interior has a heavenly chewy crumb and the sourdough flavor is perfectly balanced. The owner, Sam, had kindly answered several questions for me via email, and we visited the bakery in Keene the other day. He is very personable and obviously aims to please his customers. All of the pastries are beautiful--we tried the almond and chocolate croissants and they are so light and airy. I encourage anyone who enjoys rustic and flavorful breads as well as superior pastries to give Fire Dog a try. They also deliver to many local general stores and markets in the region. The food here is absolutely AMAZING. It is honestly one of my favorite places, and hands down my #1 place for breakfast in the morning. The prices are fantastic for the quality and freshness you are getting and absolutely worth every penny. Definitely suggest ordering ahead as it goes fast.

Incredible croissants. Every other pastry was lovely. Baguettes were perfect. Sandwiches were best in town. Go for the banh mi.

Absolutely love this bakery. I appreciate freshly milled flour and intentional sourcing of ingredients. Definitely worth stopping by (especially in the morning while they still have options!). Very friendly staff, they are knowledgeable and happy to assist. In my opinion, the best bakery in New Hampshire!

They have AMAZING breads and pastries. But order ahead the afternoon before - they often sell out of the most popular ones before closing time. Definitely try the Kouign Amann!

A trip to Keene is wasted if you dont stop at Firedog for some bread, pastries or a sandwich. We usual leave with all 3.

Some of the best local bread in Keene. When I ate bread regularly, it was the one I typically purchased from their storefront or the Monadnock Co-op. But every once in a while, I have a hankering for some sourdough, so I purchase a half loaf at their store, which will last me several days.

Excellent bread! Baguettes are outstanding. Sesame sourdough bread is highly recommended!
