An absolutely fantastic Afghani restaurant! Chef's special fried rice was very well cooked, along with salad and pumpkin. Egg dish was also very savory and delightful. Service was very good as well.

This was my first experience with Afghan food, and it was phenomenal! The owner was so warm and welcoming, the servings were plenty filling and had just the right amount of spice/kick! Can’t wait to go back and try some more dishes…

A very special place in Baltimore. I love Spring Cafe and regularly visit from Pittsburgh just for the mantoo and tea. The service is exceptional and feels like visiting a friend or family when you sit down for a meal.

We had a fantastic experience eating at Spring Cafe. As a note, this is a carryout focused restaurant, but they do have a few tables inside and 2 outside. We ordered several things off of the menu and everything we had was delicious, the service was fast, and the staff was friendly. If you want something outside of the norm that is healthy, filling, and delicious, this is a must go.

The food was definitely something worth making an extra trip for. Very cozy feeling and really unique flavors. There’s even more my partner and I would want to try when we return! Not to mention, owner was INCREDIBLY nice, so attentive and kind. Go here!!!!

Great food. Tastes like home. Not the usual mass cook. The guy who works there is great, very friendly and nice. 10/10. Should definitely visit

Amazing food and customer service. The owner could not be kinder and the ambiance is amazing. The food is very reasonably priced and the portions are more then generous. The tea menu is especially good with many options. Overall a great experience that I highly recommend.

The decor is super cute and the food was so flavorful! I definitely loved the savory flavors of the Qorma cauiflower and Sabzi spinach. We also had chamomile honey tea which was some of the most refreshing tea i’ve had in a while.

Amazing food! I tried one of the staple dishes along with tea. The host was super welcoming and the portions generous. It was so delicious I still made it to dessert, the baklava was great too.

This restaurant is such a lucky find!! I got the Kabuli Palau with beef, and my boyfriend got the Kabul Tokhum Karaai. The flavors were so rich and inviting, and the service was just as good. The man who runs the restaurant is so sweet and made our night.

The Halloween Special is here! My first time here, it's reminiscent of being a guest invited to enjoy a homecooked meal. Buttery dal and rainy weather are perfect complement. The stewed pumpkin is nicely spiced! The cardamom rice pudding is not decadent but it's what your mom would make for you - indulgent but healthy.

What a pleasant dining experience. I came in alone and got an order of mantoo and kadoo. Both phenomenal. Ebadi was so welcoming and the food came out hot and quick. Left here with an awesome pillowcase too - brought over by friends from Afghanistan. 10/10

A solid small Afghan place. Went just as they opened and grabbed some vegetarian carryout. The rice was the best Afghan rice I’ve ever had.

Really great place! I had the Kabul Tokhum Karaai for brunch, which was delicious, and was clearly made with quality and authenticity. The gentleman who was cooking, cashiering, and serving was from Kabul and so nice to chat with! He was extremely kind and greatly cared about his guests having a good experience. If I’m back in Baltimore I’ll definitely stop by again!

If you are a vegetarian then you are at the right place. Their food is just amazing! But don't worry if you like meat. There are many dishes for carnivores too! :) Plus you can walk around this beautiful Mount Vernon square and enjoy the architecture because it is next to the restaurant.

My rating is primarily due to the very poor experience and not solely due to the taste of the food - The tea taste like hard tap water, the rice and carrots dish was great but we didn’t order it. We ordered the beef and we’re shocked to get all rice and carrots. The bread with filling was OK, but tasted like he just microwaved it right before in the basement. They had no place to wash our hands and the guy serving us, which might be the owner was not very verbose which came off as very rude. I’m sure we just caught him on a bad day. All in all I would not recommend unless someone asked me where can they get they best Afghan rice and carrots.

We’ve now had takeout twice and both times it has been really tasty, nourishing and very well priced. SUCH a good and healthy addition to the high street. The people who own it and/or work there, are also lovely.

Really cute, local & family-owned cafe. The food was good. I wish the beef was a bit more tender. The owner was so kind and sweet. He gave us a bit of sheer pira to try out. I’d definitely get that dessert next time

If you’re looking for taste vs ambience this is your place! In town for a performance at Everyman Theatre downtown we decided to check out Spring Cafe because we love to support local family owned business and also enjoy Afghan food. Best decision! It has a small quaint dining area but it lends to the vibe. Make sure to order tea as well.

Excellent food in an atmosphere that feels like we are having a private party in the comfort of a friend’s home. A rare find for truly authentic, tasty food and the owner is friendly and welcoming. Can’t say enough good things but it is a true treat for the tastebuds. We will be there for this upcoming special!!

You need to try this place! Absolutely charming atmosphere and great service. The hanging plants are lovely, and the beautiful carpets that adorn each tabletop make this place truly unique. I ordered the tokhum samaruq (eggs and mushroom bowl) and vanilla cinnamon tea, both were delicious. Can't wait to come back and try another dish!

Stopped by to drink coffee, read my book, and have breakfast. This cafe is absolute splendor. The food is authentic, delicious, and different from all other restaurants I tried. I still cannot believe how inexpensive it is for what they offer. Service is also very warm and friendly. This place feels like home. Will definitely return next time I'm in town

Amazing. All the good to-go was delicious: stew, veggies, pumpkin, etc. Try it all. We will be ordering from here a lot this winter!

A quiet, cozy break from the rain with a surprising number of menu options for the small size of the place. I had the qorma and it was delicious, although the portion was small.

Amazing experience. My wife and I had dinner here. A wonderfull selection of music, and decor. I had an amazing Afghani breakfast dish and my wife had a rice and pumpkin dish. It was incredibly affordable as well. This will be a regular spot for sure!

So happy I live around the corner from this wonderful restaurant! The vegetarian stew was excellent, and the baklava was some of the best I’ve ever had. Also loved the bread they included. Will definitely be coming back to try everything else!

Really good French press coffee! It’s so good that we didn’t even put cream or sugar. And we went 2 days in a row. Also the owner is very nice!

GREAT VEGETARIAN & SUPER YUMMY!!!! I went to Spring Cafe for first time a few weeks ago and I've been about five times since. Branch of Cauliflower and Kabul Kaddo are my faves (the pumpkin is incredible!). The rice is also tasty and the desserts are fantastic. I'm not a dessert person but I get one every time I go. YUMMMMM!!!!! Very nice guy and easy to call in ahead for pick up. I think I'll go back again today. :-)

Spring Cafe is wonderful, I can’t recommend it highly enough. The food is delicious, clearly made with love (and especially good for all dietary needs), and the space itself is beautiful. The owner of this family business is so warm and charming to speak with, I was welcomed to sit and read with my tea as long as I liked. (Do yourself a favor and order yourself a pot of tea and a pastry!) It’s the perfect cozy spot for a relaxed lunch or intimate dinner. As someone who works weekends, I’m always looking for restaurants open on Mondays, and I know I’m going to be a regular here. A neighborhood gem in Baltimore that is really worth supporting.
