Really nice place for some Japanese food! At first I thought food was little expensive, but it all makes sense once you see the portion size! Based off that, I think it very reasonably priced! Our server was awesome! Made great recommendations and wanted to make sure we enjoyed the food and our visit. Food was delicious! Chicken Katsu curry had so much flavor! Ramen style is a bit different but also really good! One peculiar thing, ramen toppings come as sides which you have to pay separately, but also again come in huge portions! Overall, great place to eat, would visit again!

I saw some people complained about the prices. It’s a tad bit expensive but nothing that will break the bank. Honestly, if people complain about spending $20, I would hate to see them go to a $$$-$$$$ steakhouse in Chicago. That will probably give them a heart attack. Kitakata is located near the movie theater. Lots of parking. Plenty of seating. Service could be improved, more attention to the customers. -Chashu ramen 5/5. Generous amount of meat -Miso ramen 5/5 -juicy fried chicken 5/5. I like to get it in the bowl. They give you a lot so you can take leftovers to work the next day. -Gyoza 4/5. Still pretty solid.

Great spicy miso ramen added an egg but it was cold and the soup was hot. Ordered the chicken bowl which came with a bowl of soup and rice with 8 pieces of chicken. A little pricey but definitely delicious.

I have a soft spot for ramen, try to have it at least a couple times a month. Kitakata is a cozy place with a great quality food. I had a pleasure to serve my taste buds a Umakara Tan Tan Ramen and it was fabolous. I am afraid to try anything else because this is so good. Service is very friendly and helpful. When a customer enters the restaurant, he/she gets greeted by everyone from the kitchen. They appreciate your business.

My new favorite ramen spot. Rich and delicious broth, and the signature chasu pork just melts in your mouth. We both had a large Kitakata bowl, I added an egg which was a good choice, as it was a great addition to the soup. We also tried the gyoza, which were much lighter and better than expected, and a slice of the pork on a Ban Nai bun - both really excellent options that I recommend! The beers are served in traditional little frosty glass mugs that keep the beverage icy cold! Service was prompt and friendly, despite it being a busy Sunday when we first entered the compact and clean dining area.

Delicious food with amazing flavor. I had the Tan Tan Ramen bowl but had them swap the broth with the Shio base from the green chili one to temper the spice level. This was a great suggestion from our server (shout out to Travis who was awesome!) and was perfect, because it was still spicy but not painful. Husband had the spicy miso bowl and loved it. It's tempting to buy the large bowls, but the regular are really filling and pretty sizeable themselves. I took home about 1/3 of my ramen. Will definitely go again!

Stopped here for a late dinner on a weekday evening, there was no line up/waiting line. Ordered Tofu Ramen and it tasted amazing, it was piping hot and the broth was delicious. Vegetarian ramen can be a miss or a hit and in this case it was an absolute hit!! Quality and quantity was pretty generous as well. Servers and service both, were great!!
