Stunning beach, really wide with soft sand underfoot. Very clean with no litter, pebbles or shells to worry about. You can walk barefoot for miles. Tide goes out very far and you can walk up to the beautiful cliffs, explore the caves etc. Two very good cafes - one is National Trust complete with outdoor shower, foot tap and toilets. Very handy to wash off the sand!! The real delight is the staircase walk up Brean Downs and the view will not disappoint. There is a sand artist that spends hours making beautiful geometric patterns on the beach close to the hill. It makes for a stunning photo at the top!

We parked right at the end in national trust car park and climbed the rock you can either go up the steps or a steep path but well worth the views we walked right to the end to the little monument. You can go down the other side to an old army base and walk back along side the rock. Stunning views.

It's nice and flat and dogs are allowed. Beware of tides as sea comes in quick. It's an estuary more than a beach and like quick sand. Don't let little kids go too far out.

Stunning as always, be aware of the tide times when parking on the sands and walking along the foot of the downs. Never let your dog off the lead while on the down itself as birds, rabbits and other wildlife cans cause loose dogs to run over the cliff edges.

Beach looks more golden in the photo! The beach has black deposits and people come old the beach/out the sea with a lovely grey brown mud/sand dried to them! Positives are that the beach is quite long and easy to find a space for yourself!

Great beach with plenty of space and easy to walk on. Really dog friendly. They have disabled scooter to rent out for the beach too. A couple coffee shops, ice cream shop and toilets. Including disabled. Have an out door shower to rice off and a tap for your feet. Parking is upto £6 all day but you do need cash or download the app. Be aware though that phone signal isn't great took my brother 20mins to down load it. Disabled parking is free. Very clean and tidy. Water is nice and calm so not really a body board beach. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Tranquil beach. Quintessential for a walk and it is pet friendly too. Visited this beach numerous time but never seen it crowded. Very good location for parking with facility of toilet as well. Don't miss the hiking/walking opportunity to go to Brean Down Fort.

Absolutely stunning. We paid 5 pound all day to park on the beach. Loads of room and space even on a bank holiday weekend. Very dog friendly. Toilets available too, basic but do the job. Absolutely recommended you walk up on the top, the views are so worth it.

Fantastic beach and a walk to the Fort. Parking is £6 from dawn to dusk. Really quiet Thursday about 6pm - even with the rugby training on the beach.

Nice, quiet sandy beach, rocks to walk along below the cliff which had goats on! Path up the cliff to Brean Down Fort. Dogs allowed and parking available. Cafe and ice-cream too.

Huge beach that stretches for miles from the Brean down rocky headland, all the way to Burnham on Sea. You can walk along it if the tide is out and park in some areas at low tide. It's quite flant sand so the sea goes out a long way but it's lovely sand.

A long stretch of wide beach along dunes and cliffs. Lots of trails. The beach has a national trust car park rhat is chargeable at £6 unless a member then free. There was a little cafe that sold snacks and drinks with outside picnic areas with nice views. There are toilets, which were I hate to say, not in a good state. Sand everywhere understandably, but not very clean and being a national trust site I would of expected better. However the views were beautiful, and on a clear day you can see wales! The tide goes out along way so check tide times before arriving. There is a strong wind here so sand does literally get everywhere but I suppose that's expected from a beach. The water here is deemed not fit for swimming by the environment agency due to pollution and dangers from mudflats and sinking sands but the water is nice to look at and lovely to walk along as the sand is soft underfoot.

Brean Beach in the UK is a picturesque coastal gem that offers something for everyone. Its vast expanse of golden sands provides a perfect setting for sunbathing, picnicking, and leisurely walks. The beach is family-friendly, with shallow waters ideal for paddling and building sandcastles. Adventure seekers can indulge in various water sports activities like surfing and kiteboarding. The surrounding dunes and nature reserves add to the natural beauty and biodiversity of the area. With its stunning views and a relaxed atmosphere, Brean Beach is a delightful seaside escape for visitors of all ages.

Lovely beach to visit, good ice-cream from the shop... I am partial to a Mr Whippy! There are free toilets that are very well used so as we say, it is what it is! Staff are lovely too. I'll write a great better review next time I visit!! 😬

Lovely dog friendly beach. Massive expanse of sand to walk along. Visit at high tide if you want to go in the water as low tide means to get to the water you will be in thick mud rather than sand, messy and potentially dangerous.

Climbing the headland for a magnificent view over to South Wales, then decend to Breane Fort on its peninsula full of history and staggering to learn that gunners their wives and children lived there i can't imagine how difficult it must have been. It's well worth the climb..for the view and the historic Fort that is in the hands of the national trust the land it sits on is a nature reserve, wild goats cows and abundant birds including peregrine falcons. When I climbed today I could see from the top some beach art in form of a cake Parking! Brilliant. Parking by the headland

Awesome views across the coast. Pity it was a tad cloudy and raining. But still breath taking, and that was the steps going up. But definitely worth a visit.

Right down the bottom of the road, on a NT car park (free to us members), 2 cafes in easy reach and a HUGE, sandy beach. If you want to explore then either climb the steps behind the 2nd cafe or follow the longer path to the top of the 'downs'. Then follow this for 1 mile to see the old ruined fort. Great for adults and kids alike.

Enjoyable day, parking £4 all day on the beach. Lovely walk to Break Down Fort and a fish n chip lunch with an ice cream from the ice cream van for afters. Dog & teenagers had a good time, shame we had to leave as it started raining.

Lovely sand & sea colour, plenty of space and enjoyable atmosphere. The only downside is that the only public toilet cubicle is either accessible but you can't lock the door whilst using it or it is inaccessible after 4ish - way too early for summer.

Stunning sandy beach. Dog friendly year round. There are 2 cafes right at the far end (weston end) which are both great, one is national trust. Parking can be an issue and can be expensive if you're not staying on one of the caravan parks. The beach is super clean! Check tide times before visiting.

Once you have conquered the 200 and odd steps its a fair walk to the fort but you are treated to some magnificent views. The return walk is easier if you take the road back to the car park.

My favorite beach. You can park right on the front and see the dogs are always welcome. Such a beautiful beach and with great views. A lovely quiet place to enjoy all year round

A nice public beach - great for dogs to have a run around and a nice stroll for the rest of us. Compared to Berrow beach (just slightly further down) it’s not quite as sandy and warm, also seems to get really quite windy. But still plenty of fun to be had if you seek out the soft and sheltered parts by the cliffs to the north. Nice facilities by the car park, and plenty of spacious parking - although do beware the narrow drive heading towards the car park if you’re arriving in a larger vehicle!

A nice sandy beach to visit and explore! Perfect for a family day out and is an animal friendly location. Right next to brean down, so after relaxing on the beach, you could walk up the stairs on the side of the cliff face, to be able to experience beautiful views. An amazing and scenic location, perfect for taking pictures/selfies and for creating memories. When we went, we were lucky to see an artist at work and to witness some beach art ❤

  • 4/5 Mark C. 10 months ago on Google
Miles of very nice soft, sandy beach. Reachable by several walkways from the road going towards Brean Down from Brean itself. Only four stars as the tide is invariably out and a fair distance away so a paddle is hit and miss and it incurs a wade through the mud! Well worth a visit if all you want is a sunbed and a tub of factor 50 though!

  • 3/5 Supasox 1 year ago on Google
I've never been to this part of the country before and I was put off on my arrival to find warning signs about dangerous mud at low tide. At high tide, there's no beach at all, but the shoreline quickly receded as the tide turned and we were able to find a spot to sit. The sand is a mixture of sand and mud, and the sea is completely brown, but we ventured in and enjoyed the calm conditions before the tide went out far enough to expose the dangerous mud - a good two or three hours. We parked at the National Trust car park, which is free for members. There's an ice cream hut and a cafe but the cafe is pricey.

Have to say this was not a great experience. No signage to warn of quick sand danger and witnessed beach patrol having to apprehend two groups of young people endangering their lives. Facilities here need updating.

Nice long beach. Dog friendly. Sea goes out a long way so at low tide you can not access the sea because of mud. But that is a long way down the beach. The beach is not stone and it is very clean.

Great beach but the tide goes a very long way out. Great wet sand to play in and rocks along the cliffs for playing on and searching for rock pools.

Parking by the beach is quite difficult but it's worth it if you don't mind waiting. Lots of people around and a few dog walker's, our dog loved running around also padding in the man-made pool on the beach. Nice day out

Dog friendly, beautiful sand and the beach goes on for miles. Very clean. Cafes nearby as are toilets. The only downside is at low tide you cannot see the sea as it is so far out! You also cannot walk to it due to sinking sand. Apart from that it is excellent . Photo is of a sculpture on the beach

Lovely experience, kids loved it but I wished we brought the dog along. The beach itself is dog friendly and parking was reasonable with no wait time. We arrived about 2pm due to traffic so we worried about overcrowding and parking but we were pleasantly surprised or I guess we were just super lucky ha!. The beach is clean with toilet and cafe facilities nearby. We forgot our pales but the lady at the shop was happy for the kids to borrow some pales and buckets. Lovely experience if we didn't live so far I would have loved to stay a little longer. Would recommend. Pleasant scenery and lots of trails for walking/hiking.

I walked from Weston along the trail. It was around 10 30am when I got there...the beach was practically empty. The tide was on the way out. It was a bit busier on the way back from the fort a little later. Clean, sandy beach and has a nice stretch for walks and finding uncrowded spots. There is a cafe at the top and on beach parking.

A lovely long beach plentiful amount of space for everyone, excellent for taking the dog out for a stroll, walk right down to the bottom end near Brean down and get rewarded with a coffee and homemade cake from the national trust café. If feeling adventurous continue walking up the steps and along Brean down to the fort worth the effort for the views alone.

I went down or up Brean sand's for a little break and a rest, well so much for the rest, walk walk and some more walking but my god, what a beautiful place for long walks, sunsets are amazing, and I decided to become a mountain goat ? for a day, there's a pretty big rock sticking out between Brean and Weston super mare,i think we took the goat ? track up, when I got to the top, I'm not so young, let's say more a plod than a jog but it was worth the pain, amazing views from the top, give it a go if you're around those parts.

Great open beach, where you can, park your, vehicle(s) or park in the pay and display car - park. The cafe, gift shop and toilets are owned my the nation trust. It is £4 for the entire day, the money goes to maintaining the beach. The staff were very kind and thoughtful, with the right sort of attitudes. It's a beautiful walk on any day of the year, and I hope to return as soon as possible. The views are right across to Cardiff and Barry area across the estuary on a clear enough day, and the rock pools where you can get crabbing with bacon or cheese! Excellent day had by all thank you.

This Brean beach is also brown beach. The water was not clear like the other beach. They allow people to park cars in the beach and drivers sometimes risk losing cars driving too close to the sea. It's great for dog walking and people have a lot of picnic in the beach with their family. Some people do BBQ. I haven't seen so many caravans/park homes in other beaches as Brean. This is most popular beach for caravan/park homes and they even sell or rent these if you want one. A very talented guy normally draws geometric drawings here and you can really appreciate the beauty of this drawing from the hill. On a sunny hot day it's difficult to find a suitable parking space.

Great place for a good long walk and all dog friendly too. Lovely golden sand on the beach stretching for 3-4 miles but don't go more than a hundred metres out as this is after all the severn estuary and from there its mud and sinking sand so be sensible. We visit here at least once a year and love it. You can park on the beach too while the tide is out but there is a charge for this.
