Where shall I begin? First off, the location is absolutely perfect. It was less than 10 minutes away from the arena that we were there to see a concert at. The front desk allowed us to check in early and even suggested restaurants in the area. The elevator, which was very slow, definitely had a less than appealing aroma. The hallway leading up to our room also had the same pungent smell. Once we entered our room, immediately, we noticed that the floors, which include carpet, were sticky. The door to the room would not close without pushing on it very hard. The a/c seemed to not be working well when we initially entered the room. We did chalk this up to the fact that it was very hot outside and we had been traveling all day. However, even once the sun went down, the room did not cool down. The thermostat on the wall did.not work. It appeared to have been partially melted. The wall unit temp said 65 but it was definitely well above that temp in the room. The unit also had a squeaking noise to it. The shower curtain in the bathroom had mold on it as well. Breakfast was a disappointment as well. We went down at 7am and the food looked like it had been there since the day before. There was hardly any coffee either. Overall, we were extremely unsatisfied with the lack of cleanliness and upkeep to the room and the building as a whole. The location was great and the staff were very nice, but other than that very disappointed. I should have asked for my money back.

This hotel is NOT safe. Someone stole the catalytic converter off my car in their parking lot. They have no cameras on the property, they don't have any parking lot security. The staff doesn't care about your safety. No one said a thing to me or was empathetic to my situation, or offered any help. Not even water after I spent the entire day outside in the heat waiting for the cops and a tow truck to show up. I had asked if I can sit in their lobby and I was only allowed to sit in the corner by the elevator. They made me feel so uncomfortable that I just ended up staying outside. And at this point it doesn't matter but the room had a huge silverfish in the sink and I saw one of those long light brown roaches in the room. Please spend the couple extra dollars and stay someone else. And to the hotel management, please don't waste your time responding to this post to try and make it seem like your sorry that my stay wasn't satisfactory. If you truly cared about your guests then you would have been apologetic for the unfortunate situation and at least offered to call the cops for me, or ask if there was anything you can help me with.

The area where the hotel is wasn't bad but the hotel is disgusting. When you go near the elevator area it has a strong horrible smell and it is close to the breakfast area. When we entered the room it smelled like a cockroach is how I can describe it. The room was dirty, even the telephone keypad was dirty, but it was dirty because they haven't cleaned it for a long time. The bathroom had fungus on the walls and the bathtub omg. We had no choice but to stay at least we had sheets and comforter in the SUV and we used it. They offered breakfast but if the rooms were dirty I can't imagine the kitchen. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. Se pics

This place still has wall A/C. Really, in Fla ? 1 elevator for 4 floors. Wait forever.....Looks like 80's construction, and never been upgraded one bit. Rooms would never pass any inspection of any kind. NOT CLEAN AT ALL. CARPET ACTUALLY KIND OF MOIST AND STICKY. On the plus side, the small staff was very nice, and the included breakfast was actually better than expected.

First, let me start by saying the staff were very friendly and helpful. They let us check in early which was nice considering we have been on the road traveling all day. This is a perfect location for food around the area and less than 10 minutes away from the FLA Arena, which we came into town from Louisiana to see blink-182. Upon arrival the elevator was extremely slow and had a less then pleasant odor of foot cheese and despair. The hallway leading to our room also had the same odor, also resembling a scene from The Shining. The door itself was not able to close fully under its own accord. The room itself appeared to be clean although the smell quickly changed our minds. The air conditioner was not working properly being set for 65 although it was quite hotter. The thermostat was not operational and appeared to be somewhat melted. The bed felt funky being that we were both sweating all night long. As I lye awake from the discomfort I couldn't help but notice the ungodly amount of dust plastered to the ceiling and the smallest ceiling fan I've ever seen, spinning at some odd speed somewhere between off and a joke. The bathroom shower curtain had mold growing on it. Also while showering the vent that is supposed to pull all the steam out of the room also seemed to be confused as to its actual function and only purpose. The carpet was also sticky with what I can only assume is foot juice and other things that I will not mention. Last but not least the breakfast...don't eat it! It was a disappointment to say the least. Zero effort was put into this catastrophe of what is supposed to be the most important meal of the day. Make your own waffles...it's not good. What coffee....there is none. Eggs....idk what that was, it was yellow and mildly resembling a Frisbee. But again I say all of this not to dissuade anyone but merely inform. It is a shame to see such a convenient location go to waist like this. If you are looking for convenience of location this is the place. If you are looking for anything else shop around more.

I'm not sure why some of the guest had an unpleasant stay at this hotel. I stayed there on May 26th (checked in by Ernesto and checked out by Dunkin) and they were very polite and accommodating!! My room was on the 2nd floor,,, absolutely perfect, bathroom perfect. It was extremely clean. Breakfast was good and appropriate for a continental... I loved the location, quiet and SAFE!! I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN AND WILL VERY SOON! Also, I ran into a housekeeper and she too was kind with a professional appearance!!

No AC in the room. My lake view was the parking lot, and It smelled like cigarettes. The breakfast buffet was completely wiped out from the mob of people grabbing 10x their share. It's an old building and it shows. Served my purpose but definitely not a getaway.

It's an okay Hotel. Cleanliness could have been a lot better. Hallway smelt like Marijuana. One of the bed spreads in our room was visibly stained. We simply pulled it back & didn't use it. There were some dried dirt spots on the room walls in a few areas & on our bathroom door. As if they had been wiped with a dirty wet cloth. We simply wiped them down with Lysol wipes. Also underneath the sink in one corner there were some dog food pellets that were missed upon cleaning. The night was quiet though & bed slept well. Not sure of the breakfasts options because we didn't use this amenity. And my Spouse stated that the front desk staff was friendly. Reservations were made by my Spouse through a discounted booking site.

The room was large and clean. Unfortunately the popcorn ceiling was peeling in places. Breakfast was good. The coffee station was often empty without cups or lids. It was adequate for our purposes. The desk staff was friendly and courteous.

This hotel chain has 2 hotels next to each other. We stayed at the one ending in even numbers. I'll make it short and sweet. Musty smelling room, broken furniture, main door sticks , must push hard to enter, stains on the carpet, chair, sofa, and bedding. High humidity inside our room. We know humidity, we live in Florida. Slow elevator, carpet on our way to our room was stained. I was so concerned about the hygiene of the breakfast area that I just had coffee downstairs. I did not dare try the room coffee maker. So sad that a hotel chain would allow this to happen. Yes 0 stars for the room. The hotel staff and location get a 5

Staff is great, bed was comfy. But unfortunately we didn’t have a good smell in room. Smelled bit like marijuana or something. I don’t think our room was vacuumed or cleaned very well overall, visible amount of hair on the floor. I ended up cleaning it myself to feel more comfortable. At night little roaches came out and one somehow ended up inside fridge too. I hope they didn’t travel home with us.

First let me start off by saying this location is top tier. It’s close to everything you could possibly want, along with a free car service provided by the city of Sunrise that will take you anywhere within a 2 mile radius maybe further. The front desk staff are ALL great. Especially Gladys, Ernesto, and Alina. The manager is also very personable and very helpful. The housekeepers are also fantastic, maintenance as well. The staff take great pride in their work and it shows each and everyday. Anything I needed they were happy to help or assist in any way they could. The rooms are very clean. Yes they are dated, but the hotel itself is an old building. That’s to be expected. The pool is sparkling and refreshing. Breakfast is great too. I’ve stayed at several hotels but this LaQuinta is perfection all around.

Just for having an EXCELLENT STAFF I would give 5 stars to this hotel. Gladys, Jorge and Duncan at the front desk, Yasmin in the breakfast room and Joseph the assistant manager made a great impression for its great performance and professionalism. HOWEVER, the hotel needs a renovation, carpets and paint especially; and not knowing that it does not provide room maintenance services and that customers must request towels and toilet paper at the front desk was a negative surprise.

My husband and I booked this hotel for one night as it was close to an appointment we had the next morning. Even if you’re just staying for one night, spend a little more and get yourself a decent hotel. This hotel is extremely outdated and dirty. The entire hotel smelled musty and moldy. The carpets in the hallways leading to the rooms look and smell like they’ve never been cleaned before. Our bathroom had visible mold in it. The bed sheets were stained in multiple places. The bed skirt was covered in some kind of oily substance. And if after that, you trust their complementary breakfast, it basically consists of egg patties, Raisin Bran cereal, plain bagels, and a waffle maker. We could not get out of this hotel fast enough.

Better than expected. There’s definitely room for improvement, but at the end we had a better experience than expected. A little problem when checking in but Duncan was very accommodating and took care of it immediately. I’ve read many complaints in other reviews, it isn’t as bad, although, as I said, there is room for improvement but if you suffer from OCD stay away from this property, maybe a $400 a night hotel can satisfy your desires.

This place was nice enough but the air conditioner just didn't cold until about the middle of the night some time. We turned it on at 5:30 p.m. left it on as we went to dinner @ 7:15 & still by around 9 not at all cold in room. Maybe around 4:30a.m. it was cold enough to want to turn it back up at which point why bother we were going to be leaving at 9a.m. Only convenient to a gas station but a few miles away from other stores. The shower curtain rod was broke so the curtain didn't stay closed, beds were comfortable a little bit but enough for the evening stay. Cleanliness was not that great & it was a little out dated style but fine & the breakfast in the morning was less than desirable but a breakfast nonetheless. If I needed a place to stay again like what I needed a place to stay for this weekend I would probably stay here just because I know what I am getting

Very clean hotel. Our room smelled good, had no bugs, etc. I did notice at one point in the hallway that I smelled weed, but it was brief and I couldn't smell it in my room. We stayed for 5 days. Beds were softer compared to other hotels. Two things I didn't like: our hotel room didn't shut behind us unless we pulled it closed (many other hotels have heavy doors that shut behind you) and that housekeeping will not clean your room unless specifically asked. All-in-all though, it was a good stay for the price.

This hotel is old and worn out. We had to change rooms because of the smell and condition, but the second room was just as bad. The pics show poop or blood on the bathroom wall, misc stains, dirt, and the expired elevator certificate. They can't show the smell of mold, cigarettes and urine. The manager and the corporate office, Wyndham, are unwilling to do anything. The manager did refund 50% of charges. At that time he did not know about all of the issues. For instance, the bed was v shaped and very uncomfortable, the elevator got stuck, My husband was wheezing all night and we left the room earlier than planned because of the condition.

Absolutely filthy. Ceiling falling down from water damage. Mold in room and A/C. Stains in seating. Guests arguing in hallway, and hallway smelled of smoke, not cigarettes... Place us on 3rd floor after paying for a pet room. We informed them we need ground level when making reservation but was not available when we arrived. Photos to come.

The floor in the room was nasty. I wiped up some powder and the residue on the floor was completely black. Yuck! The rooms were supposed to be serviced every 3 days, but a young lady at the front desk said they didn't have time to get to our room. The manager on duty said it would be cleaned, but it was the same lady that told us they would get our trash several days prior and did not follow through. The elevator broke down 3 times during our stay. We had to walk up to the 4th floor. Thankfully we were in shape to do so, but the elderly guests that we spoke to were not. I would recommend hiring extra staff to clean rooms. When the room is serviced, the CARPET SHOULD BE VACUUMED AND FLOORS SHOULD BE SWEPT AND MOPPED. Trash should be taken from rooms on a daily basis....not every 3 days. The young man at the front desk was the nicest ever. I recommend putting him into management. He helped us with our needs accordingly. Sweet smile and awesome attitude.

Stayed 2 nights last week. Very clean, NO bugs (I was afraid after reading other reviews), had pleasant stay. Older motel, needs upgrading, but fine for bed/bath. No grab rails in shower though. Breakfast adequate...we were mistakenly told service was till 10, but only till 9 during week. But the woman in charge very kindly gave us some food anyway.

When my daughter and I check-in at La Quinta, the process literally took about 5 minutes; the front desk clerk was very friendly, professional, and efficient. The rooms were clean and A/C was very cold. The beds are extremely comfortable, one of the best nights of sleep I had in weeks. The water pressure in the shower was awesome, it felt therapeutic. The complimentary breakfast was nice and hot, perfect! Coffee perfect! The only dislike I encountered was that I was in a room next to the emergency exit, people were in and out, slamming the door all day and night, which was irritating.

Pretty nice for a necessary stay. Didn't have any issues with service. But it's one of those hotels that has the minimum amenities, like we found we didn't have silverware or plates for the food we had, even though there's a microwave and fridge. Nice though.

The employees at the front desk were fantastic. The breakfast was okay too. The rooms could definitely use some help. Our room smelled like cigarettes every time we walked in. At least the rooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable. The whole place could use a face-lift considering there's a much nicer looming la Quinta right next door.

  • 4/5 Karenanne F. 1 year ago on Google
Pet friendly with adequate to nice grounds for dog walking. Plenty of trash cans around the property for waste disposal. Friendly and helpful staff, better than average breakfast. Older hotel could use a refresh but more than adequate for a few nights w/our dogs. Location close to shopping, grocery stores and pharmacies. We were there to escape hurricane Ian and had everything we needed there.
