A
five-star
bed
&
breakfast
that
we
would
go
out
of
our
way
to
stay
in
again.
My
husband
and
I
were
looking
for
last-minute
lodging
while
traveling
to
northern
Wisconsin.
The
Stewart
Inn
had
a
last
minute
cancellation
-
lucky
us.
The
1906
Prairie
style
house
is
in
mint
condition,
with
the
original
wood,
windows
and
light
fixtures.
It's
beautiful.
Our
room
was
cozy
and
had
a
huge,
sparkling
clean
bathroom
that
included
a
steam
bath
option.
Innkeeper
Randy
was
a
font
of
information,
down
to
which
dish
was
the
best
at
which
restaurant.
We
discovered
that
Wausau
is
a
foodie
town,
with
several
excellent
restaurants
within
walking
distance
of
the
house,
including
a
distillery
down
the
street
and
a
craft
brewery
a
short
walk
away.
Breakfast
was
superb:
fresh-pressed
pineapple
and
orange
juice,
yogurt
and
granola,
"fresh
blueberries
with
unnecessary
cream"
(which
Randy
started
calling
it
after
a
reviewer
complained
about
the
cream)
and
a
delicious
croissant
with
ham,
cheese,
asparagus
and
a
perfect
fried
egg
on
top.
The
innkeeper's
Irish
setter
dog,
Buster
Brown,
was
a
model
of
good
behavior.
Seriously,
we
can't
wait
to
go
back
to
Wausau.
