Hubby and I recently stayed 3 nights in the Burt Room. Randy graciously greeted us and gave us the history of the house. The house is beautiful and our room was very comfortable and clean. The cleaning staff were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed each day. Randy’s breakfasts each day were extremely yummy and filling. We also appreciated Randy’s knowledge of places to see, restaurants and even the best food choices at the restaurants. We fell in love with the family dog and special greeter Buster Brown! We will definitely be visiting Stewart Inn again!

A most wonderful experience! The room was great and had extra touches like the soft bathrobes. Buster, the resident dog, was the best greeter, offering his soft muzzle for pets (he is the best boy). The most wonderful breakfasts every morning and the best chats with Randy. Will only stay at the Stewart Inn when in Wausau!

We had an amazing stay at the Stewart Inn. Highly recommend if you are looking for a unique stay in Wausau. We stayed two nights for a ski trip. Randy was a great host and offered us a lot of suggestions for dinners and lunch. He knows the area really well. The rooms are cozy and comfortable and the bathrooms are plenty big! The breakfasts are AMAZING and delicious. Portions are generous so we were full until having a very late lunch. We loved the location of the Inn - it is very walkable to the restaurants and downtown area. Parking available. We will be back!

Such a delightful stay at the Stewart Inn. My partner and I were in town for just one night for a show at the Grand Theater. The inn keeper was extremely attentive, the room was adorable, and the staff went above and beyond to make accommodations for the included breakfast for my partner who is GF & DF. We loved the fireplace and steam shower in our rooms. Such a quaint and romantic getaway!

The Stewart Inn is one of the many air bnb locations that have become popular in the last 5 years. With historic architecture and great staff, this location is only held back by its downtown location with tiny parking lot. Otherwise the yard, historic/cozy feel is a wonderful place for travel and visits to Wausau.

We first gave the Stewart Inn a try while we were out in town doing research for vendors for the wedding and were looking for a bridal suite to stay in for the days just before and after our wedding. We were blown away with how charming, welcoming, and comfortable the Inn is. Buster was the cutest doordog, checking in was easy, the beds were comfortable, and the baths and steam showers were incredible. The breakfasts were wonderful and fun talking with the guests while having delicious food. They know the area super well too and were actually the ones who gave us the name of the cake shop we ultimately used! We booked the inn for Thursday and Friday before the Saturday ceremony, and booked their Owl Ridge cabin for Saturday and Sunday night. We made a pitch to our wedding party and we ended up getting the entire Inn booked with our party which was super fun. The Inn has a wonderful blend of being super stately with modern comforts, the breakfasts will start your day out properly, and the wine tastings are wonderful to boot!

I happened to come to town with a friend whose family lives in Wausau and chose to stay a night at The Stewart Inn in the Downtown area. What a pleasure! What a gem if you love the Arts and Crafts style! The Inn is perfectly appointed and very welcoming. Thank you Randy for the glass of wine upon arrival. Very nice touch after driving 6.5 hours from MI. The bed and linens were comfortable. Loved the gas fireplace in the room. But what I may have loved best was the steam shower and wonderful bath products. Thank you so much for the very enjoyable one night stay. I hope to make it back one day.

Everything about the Stewart Inn is exceptional. The beauty of the Inn, the location, the owners, the rooms, the comfortable bed, the peace and quiet, the delicious breakfast. Seriously, perfection. If looking for a place to stay, this is the place.

Absolutely top notch service here. A beautiful hidden gem in Wausau--I was surprised and felt so lucky to even get a night here. Rooms are very comfortable with various amenities you don't get in a motel. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch drinking coffee before breakfast. Breakfast, by the way, is amazing. Randy puts a lot of thought and heart into it. And to top it all off, Buster the dog was a joy. Can't recommend highly enough.

This place is beautiful beyond words. Each room is unique and so is the entire house and the beds are very comfortable and the steam shower is fantastic. The breakfasts are amazing and the owner, Randy goes over and above to make sure you have everything you need and is very friendly. He gave us restaurant suggestions as well as sites to see while we were staying there. We would recommend the Stewart Inn to anyone looking for a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. We will definitely be back and will bring some friends with us to enjoy the experience

A five-star bed & breakfast that we would go out of our way to stay in again. My husband and I were looking for last-minute lodging while traveling to northern Wisconsin. The Stewart Inn had a last minute cancellation - lucky us. The 1906 Prairie style house is in mint condition, with the original wood, windows and light fixtures. It's beautiful. Our room was cozy and had a huge, sparkling clean bathroom that included a steam bath option. Innkeeper Randy was a font of information, down to which dish was the best at which restaurant. We discovered that Wausau is a foodie town, with several excellent restaurants within walking distance of the house, including a distillery down the street and a craft brewery a short walk away. Breakfast was superb: fresh-pressed pineapple and orange juice, yogurt and granola, "fresh blueberries with unnecessary cream" (which Randy started calling it after a reviewer complained about the cream) and a delicious croissant with ham, cheese, asparagus and a perfect fried egg on top. The innkeeper's Irish setter dog, Buster Brown, was a model of good behavior. Seriously, we can't wait to go back to Wausau.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Stewart Inn. I have been 4-5 times and would never stay anywhere else in the Wasau area after staying at the Inn. The beauty of the Inn is like no other, from floor to ceiling the detail in the woodwork and stain glass is immaculate. Randy (the owner) and his staff’s hospitality is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. He genuinely cares to ensure that all customers stay is perfect from beginning to end. His multiple course breakfasts are phenomenal. I’m a very picky eater and he is extremely accommodating with picky eaters and special dietary restrictions. His number one priority is to ensure that his customers are satisfied. And you can’t forget their family dog Buster, if you’re lucky enough to see Buster at Randy’s side he is the absolute sweetest long haired pointer there is, that is sure to put a smile on your face. On top of the beauty of the Inn and the wonderful owner and staff’s hospitality, the Stewart Inn is in an incredible location just a two minute drive to downtown Wasau with many incredible dining options (in which I’ve tried from Randy’s recommendations) and also a very short drive from Granite Peak skiing/snowboarding/ Rib Mountain.

What a wonderful B&B experience, coupled with being able to see Kathleen Madigan at the Grand Theatre. Randy, one of the owners, is a fantastic host and prepared an equally fantastic breakfast for us along with brewing a darn good cup of joe. I would recommend the Stewart Inn as a perfect lodging bookmark for any event in Wausau. We're looking forward to trying out the Owl Ridge Lodge too. Thanks Randy!

Stewart Inn sets the bar for the BnB experience. Beyond the history of the home, the rooms are immaculate. To compliment the entire experience, you'll be treated to a delicious breakfast. The hosts, Randy and Sara, are sure to attend to your every need. Best of all, you are just a short walk to downtown Wausau, where great restaurants and quaint shops abound.

This is the first time we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, and what a grand experience. Kris was an amazing innkeeper! She was extremely knowledgeable about the Stewart Inn and the Wausau area. This was a gorgeous home! Very warm and welcoming. The entire place was spotless!!! The breakfast was superb! My husband Don and I enjoyed the entire experience along with the conversations with Kris. We will definitely return when in Wausau area again. Thank you for an amazing experience !! Sincerely, Don and Marti Armata

WAUSOME! This property doesn't NEED yet another good review. The Inn is lovely and spacious with cozy quiet places to visit or sit. Each room is a feel good experience for sleeping or reading a book. Comfortably a two to three block walk to many destinations. Being graciously served a tasty breakfast is a nice way to start your day.

Randy was an exceptional host. Our experience exceeded all our expectations. The house itself was beautiful and historic. There was plenty of communal space to hangout and it was very cozy, from the comfortable seating to the warm fireplace. Upon arrival Randy gave us a tour of the Inn, provided food recommendations, and helped carry our bags to our room. The wine hour at 5pm was a nice touch and a great way to meet and converse with fellow travelers. The complimentary breakfast was incredibly delicious. Stewart Inn belongs in its own category of lodging and has helped me see a new way of traveling that I worry I can’t find elsewhere. From a historic, bespoke interior to the warm, personal touch of Randy’s hosting to the affordable rates of our room, Stewart Inn was a refreshing and memorable experience.

Stayed here for two nights for a quick ski trip to Wausau. Great location, close to everything. The house (and room) was beautiful and clean. Randy was very welcoming, he had a million recommendations for places to eat and things to do. He is a true foodie and it especially shines through the wonderful homemade breakfast. We will be back! Added bonus is the house dog, Buster Brown!

From the greeting upon arrival until the hugs good bye, the stay was incredible! Old fashioned service and attention to detail is the norm. The hosts ensure a wonderful, warm experience. There is nothing that we would change. The property is absolutely beautiful. Ask them about the other gorgeous B&B they have created!! Like no other!! We will be back! Mary and Chuck

Best Bed and Breakfast we have been to! The house is so beautiful, large, and well kept. The breakfast was good, the rooms were clean, and the mattress was so comfortable. I was extremely impressed with how quiet the house was (heals on the wood floor will always be loud). The level of technology was great, and the proximity to the main shopping street was fun to walk around the city a bit. We went to the Dells of Eau Claire county park for a great walk on the trails. Thanks for the great stay Randy!

Randy was so nice and had great dining and 'things to do' recommendations for our short 2-day stay. Breakfast was delicious! Location is walkable to the downtown area for coffee shops, museums, restaurants, bars.

This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. The house is beautiful and well-taken-care-of and Randy the host gave us the most wonderful hospitality. We arrived later than we expected and were prepared to check-in right away to let the host retire for the night, but he insisted that we instead go out and get dinner before the restaurants nearby closed. He recommended a restaurant and personally called the restaurant to make sure they would stay open for us to eat. The restaurant (and his recommended dishes!) were all excellent. Breakfast the next morning was very filling and delicious. I can't recommend this place more--the rooms are wonderful and comfortable, the house is perfectly restored, and the host Randy was the best. If you're anywhere near Wausau you should stay HERE.

Our stay at The Stewart Inn was part of a two night get away. My husband and I could not have chosen a better spot to relax and unwind. Our host was knowledgeable about the best places to go in town, what to do when we got there, and where to enjoy the best dinners! We met lovely guests at the multi course breakfasts and again at the evening wine gathering. We highly recommend this "treasure of the North" to anyone.

Randy and Sarah are excellent hosts!! They are both warm and caring people who make sure that you are pampered during your entire stay. Randy’s attention to the details really make this experience next level. The Inn is so charming and the food was fantastic! We will definitely be coming back in the future!

Looking for something different than a chain hotel, and this place always came up tops on various reviews. Wasn't disappointed. Beautiful building, convenient location, amazing interior (the first floor is almost entirely original, incredible woodwork and fireplace surround), cozy and comfortable room. Randy was a delight to talk to, brews a great cup of coffee, and whipped up satisfying breakfast in the morning. Will def stay again.

We booked the entire Stewart Inn for our family reunion and we had a wonderful 4 night stay. Owner Randy's hospitality is excellent: he welcomed us each day with delicious breakfasts, he gave us recommendations on what to do and where to eat in Wausau, WI, and he runs an Inn that is comfortable, with 5 beautiful rooms, with nice gathering spaces, both indoors and porch. A welcome surprise is dog Buster, well behaved, kind and quiet with loving eyes. We can't thank Randy enough for a wonderful stay, and we recommend Stewart Inn for anyone who wants to have a relaxing, fun getaway!

Wonderful experience! The house and room were so clean, warm and inviting. The host is a delight, and the dog is a sweetie. Breakfast was more than just a meal - it was a three-course event, complete with fresh juice, coffee, multiple utensils - the whole nine yards! Great recommendations for the area, and SO CLOSE to so much.Thank you for such a wonderful stay - we hope to be back!

Excellent stay at such a beautiful home. Randy really is a great host. Very considerate man who took into consideration all dietary needs, which is always appreciated. Also, had a super cute friendly dog which made the stay 100x better. Overall super clean and professional. Would definitely return! He also prepared a beautiful breakfast for the guests.

We spent 3 nights at the Stewart Inn and were delighted with every aspect of our stay. Randy was welcoming and kind. He attended to our every need (and could tell us the best dish at just about every restaurant in a 15 mile radius!!). Our room was extra comfortable with a fireplace, 2 comfy chairs, a steam shower, and luxuriously soft sheets. Breakfast was an event in itself; a time to leisurely enjoy multiple courses of painstakingly prepared and delicious dishes. We will most certainly return!
