While
the
room
was
very
clean
and
located
in
a
fun
neighborhood
of
Philadelphia,
Sonder
lacks
a
great
deal
of
customer
service.
Just
checking
in
required
jumping
through
numerous
hoops,
including
downloading
the
Sonder
app
to
simply
access
to
the
hotel.
Upon
arrival,
the
door
code
didn't
work
and
we
were
left
standing
outside
a
locked
door.
Eventually,
our
door
code
arbitrarily
opened
the
front
door
after
trying
it
several
times.
We
then
had
to
enter
another
code
for
the
elevator,
which
did
thankfully
work,
but
again
struggled
to
open
the
door
to
our
hotel
room
for
the
same
reason:
the
keypad
kept
us
locked
out!
Traveling
can
be
dangerous
and
getting
locked
out
of
the
hotel,
the
elevator,
and
our
room
because
of
an
ill-functioning
keypad
is
not
only
a
possibility,
but
apparently
an
inevitability
at
Sonder.
It
presents
a
huge
safety
risk,
especially
for
women
traveling
alone.
A
safety
risk
that
is
only
exacerbated
by
an
empty
lobby
with
no
employees
overseeing
a
front
desk
area.
Once
we
did
eventually
gain
access
to
our
room,
we
could
not
get
the
TV
working
because
the
remote
controls
had
no
battery
life
left.
We
contacted
customer
service
and
were
told
they
could
not
guarantee
a
time
for
an
employee
to
provide
us
with
fresh
batteries.
This
was
a
problem
because
we
had
plans
to
meet
a
friend
and
couldn't
hang
around
our
room
waiting
for
someone
to
bring
batteries.
To
not
be
able
to
use
one
of
the
amenities
we
paid
for
was
a
huge
bummer.
The
only
reason
I
am
not
giving
Sonder
one
star
is
because
of
its
location.
The
neighborhood
is
great
and
full
of
eclectic
shops
and
eateries.
Though
I
unfortunately
cannot
recommend
staying
here.
