Not sure how this place is rated so high. There wasn’t a wait when we got in so we were seated immediately. And our order was taken super quick. Took 45 minutes to get our food. But when the bring everything they forgot to put in my order so I had to wait another 25 minutes to get my food. No apology, no discount nothing. They weren’t busy either. My food was not great and was cold. But the pancake was good so there’s that.

I cannot even express how much we enjoyed our meal here. Our first visit to NOLA and I might come back just to experience this meal again. We had the prime rib Gruyère melt and the crusted crab and eggs sardou The flavours were mind blowing. The chef here knows what they are doing. Our sever Eva and the staff working today were fantastic. Might have been just a casual lunch but this meal was one we will not soon forget. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

So happy they're back! Best frozen drinks in town. The food is amazing. I had the sausage pepper pizza. Fantastic. Red Dog is my favorite brunch spot in the city. Sit at the bar for the authentic experience!

This diner has a homey feel with a modern twist, and is an awesome spot for a delicious, refreshing lunch in the garden district. Their salads were the perfect lunch after spending a long day in the Louisiana heat. The chicken Cobb was one of the best salads I’ve ever had!

Absolutely incredible brunch experience. Definitely a highlight is the brisket omelette. Some of the best coffee I had while we were in town. The atmosphere is top notch. A nice cool escape from a scorching New Orleans day. We will be back for sure.

A great happy hour experience! The food and drinks we top notch. We had maybe 7-8 appetizers and multiple drinks between 5 people and it was only $30-40 per person. My only complaint is that there were multiple apps that weren’t available and a few drinks on the menu that they couldn’t do because they didn’t have all the ingredients.

First and foremost I love this place and I've always enjoyed the food. So I placed an order online, ordered a white cheese and arugula pizza, and it said 20 minutes until it was ready. So I walked over and noticed that it was pretty busy and figured I should call. I was told 15 more minutes but waited 20 to be safe. Then i called again and got put on hold for 20 minutes. Why did i wait 20 minutes? I have a deep faith in humanity and terrible social anxiety. Anyway, i hung up and called again. A sweet young person answered and brought my order out to me. Now, I walk maybe 10 steps before I open the box. And man, let me tell you, I'm not an expert on anything but I do feel like a white cheese and arugula pizza should have arugula on it. Now, I give red dog 5 stars because even though I had to wait a while and my order was a little bit wrong, I still love that place. Also, the servers there all looked exhausted but they kept up their smiles and kept up the energy. Good on yall.

Seit 1. Juni 2023 unter neuer Führung (reopening). Sehr freundlicher Service.

Last time I was at red dog. The food was very good tho slow service. Today I didn’t get a chance to eat. 45 min after I ordered they brought me a burnt sandwich. I was a little shocked they even tried to serve it to me. We all have bad days…. And I wanted to enjoy the food. But idk if I’d give it a third try.

Always great food at the Red Dog. Thanks Alex for another great experience. Sadly, the only con...the frozen mimosa machine has the same reputation as the McDonalds ice cream machine. It sadly is always broken ! Hope they get a new one soon!

If you go, get the crab fritter appetizer!! Phenomenal even though I’m normally a fairly picky eater. So crunchy yet soft at the same time. I got the chicken salad sandwich which was pretty good, along with the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was very unique. Not my favorite flavor (so classical Mac and cheese people beware), but it was a nice artisan take on the side. The atmosphere inside was great and our server Preston was wonderful!

Loved this place! Talk about amazing food! The tamale meatballs were to die for! As a native New Mexican, these were on point! The snacks and bites menu was phenomenal! Snug and cozy atmosphere with friendly and awesome staff. The decor was on point and fun to look at! Great garden district stop! A must!

Red Dog Diner is a casual, laid-back spot and we had such a nice, chill evening there. We loved the happy hour deals for great cocktails and appetizers, and the staff was so kind. I ordered a pizza and they made the wrong one, so they made the right one, gave me BOTH pizzas and took the charge off our bill altogether, which was unnecessary but so gracious. Really exceptional and proactive customer service!

I got the cauliflower curry omelette and it was amazing! I visited Red Dog when they reopened with a limited menu, as a vegetarian I had a few options with protein but hope they add a couple more. The omelette was divine, it was packed with flavor and the portion was impressive but didn't feel overwhelmingly heavy. Highly recommend.

This restaurant had such a great feel to it- some good vibes. You order at the counter and you take a number to your table and the servers will bring you your food. Food was very good, servers were cheerful.

It was a good find. I needed a place with outdoor pet friendly seating and breakfast. Well, this place checked my boxes and then some. The food was great, the portions were good, and the service was great. There is a side alley that leads to an outdoor bar area that pets are not allowed so be aware. They have a good drink menu and will accommodate most requests. I highly recommend trying any appetizer just because all of them seemed good. I also recommend this place for early risers because they have a morning Happy Hour!!!!

Found Red Dog looking for a breakfast spot. Had a wait of about 40 minutes but we were able to have some drinks at the back bar. Which was clutch for a recovery after a long night. The whole party enjoyed everything. I had the waffles and it was great. The mimosa were expensive for what you get. The neighborhood was cool and had some shops to get souvenirs.

The food was so dang good. I had the patty melt, but we sat at the bar, and watched them cook: every single thing that came out looked amazing and it was really hard to decided. It was a nice place to have lunch with friends. I would recommend maybe calling ahead to reserve a spot: it would have been an hour wait if the bar had not opened up, but it was worth it. I also had a margarita, and it was delicious. The fries were super fresh, and the service was awesome. I will be back on my next visit.

my wife and I were driving on our way back to Texas from Pensacola Florida (5 day vacation) and decided to stop at New Orleans for lunch, we checked online and found Red Dog Diner... OMG seriously??? I can tell with no doubt it was the best meal we had in our 5 days vacation! and we had really good meals in Pensacola! but Red Dog Diner was amazingly delicious! an explosion of flavors super well made! the Paella soup was unbelievable, the chicken portobello pasta was super good, the rare tuna crisp super good... for desert we had the cranberry pecan bread pudding! that thing was way too much delicious... we're longing to go back to New Orleans to eat there one more time!!!

I’ve overlooked this place for years and that was the worst mistake I could have made. The food here is excellent! We arrived during happy hour on a Friday. They have half off Tidbits/Grazers and cocktails. The service could have been better. Our first server tried to deter us from ordering what we wanted to order. She kept saying it was too much food! But we only wanted 3 Tidbits/Grazers to share among the 2 of us. If you’re going to sell bites for half off during happy hour, don’t try to put a limit on what the customer orders. It was irritating. We were there right before a shift change, so we ended up with a different server. He was better, but a little slow at times. I have no complaints about anything I ate. We ordered the Quail and Waffle and pimento cheese spread. The quail was flavorful and fried perfectly. The pimento cheese was good as well, but not sure I’d order again. For entrees we had the Reuben and Croque Monsieur. Both were amazing! However, the fries/stringy things on the side got cold really quick. I had the Ohld Fashound and the other guest had That B*tch Katrina. It should have been called That Punk Katrina instead. Both drinks were weak and unimpressive. I’m glad that we only paid half price. With that said, I’d definitely be back for the food and the drinks not so much.

Why did it take me so long to finally discover this place? Went there for happy hour / dinner and between my husband and myself, we got to try three appetizers (deviled eggs, spinach and artichoke dip, corn and crab fritters) and two entrees (duck diablo and tomato and oregano glazed salmon). Everything was flavorful and delicious! They also have really good drinks (my favorite was the peach one, photo of the ingredients included) and one of the best bread puddings I've had in town (and I've had many). All drinks and appetizers are half off during the happy hour. Also, I realized a week later that I had left my credit card there and it was still safely there. I'll be back soon, for breakfast this time.

Fell in love with the shrimp and grits, and the blueberry pancakes. We had a long conversation about how they must find only the best blueberries. We found a kindred spirit in our fellow Philadelphia waitress. Did you know there is an amazing biscuit hiding under everything you go to eat in New Orleans? It's true. Great food here, friendly and fast service, we will think about this place fondly.

Had breakfast here 4/22/2019 and it was wonderful! On a friend’s recommendation, I had the Curry Roasted Cauliflower “Humpty Dumpty” (their name for omelets) with peppers, gruyere cheese, hummus, tamarind and potatoes; along with an absolutely delicious blueberry pancake (1,2 or 3 available as you wish) recommended by an unremembered online source. I ate most of it without syrup because it wasn’t needed. The omelet was so good! My friend had, and quite enjoyed, the more John Smith breakfast sandwich consisting of Bacon, scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese on a biscuit with a lovely side of fresh fruit. This was my second visit to The Red Dog Diner. First time was for their happy hour which I think is one of the best in town. Both times the service has been excellent. If you’re there between 8-10 am Monday-Friday they have a breakfast Happy Hour with 1/2 price specialty drinks.

Stopped by on our way to La petite grocery. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and seated promptly. We ordered an appetizer chargrilled oysters and each ordered two drinks. My husband had a mint julep and said it was fantastic and I had the frozen strawberry Mamosa and would definitely recommend it. It was probably in my top three favorite drinks I had on our entire trip to New Orleans!Overall would highly recommend stopping by. The restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere and the wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly! Hoping to make it by again soon!

Best deviled eggs I’ve ever had! Highly recommend coming on a weekday for happy hour. The oyster bake was a little on the salty side, but it was served with bread rounds that cut down on the salt. Cocktails were not watered down like some places do for happy hour. Would definitely come back again and again

Visited the diner on June 17th and the food was surprisingly tasty. An interesting creole-mediterranean fusion you won’t find in many other restaurants. The service was excellent and the atmosphere to with walls and roof covered with reused wooden planks. A must for anyone visiting the Garden district.

So glad they reopened. Hopefully they will extend hours to include dinner. Everything here was made in house and tastes great! Biscuit was incredible, sausage was very tasty, pancake was extremely fluffy, and the corned beef hash was very satisfying. Definitely check this place out or go back if you haven't been since they closed.

We just stopped in for the AC, and a drink. Our server was very friendly. We had the frozen/slushy Irish coffee, and it was really good. We also got the fried green tomatoes, which were ok, but the corn and crab fritters were amazing. They also have happy hour specials!

Went here yesterday (8/6) and had our dog with us. Our server was so attentive and kind and made sure our table had everything we needed. My son wasn’t starting to feel good due to the heat and when I asked if we could have some napkins so I could soak them in some cold water, our server brought them and would check in with us to see how he was doing. I wish I got his nam but such an amazing person! And he didn’t forget our doggo either! Always made sure if he had water.

I’ve been visiting NOLA for years and this was, by far, the best meal in the city! The customer service was fantastic! If you get a chance to sit at the bar, do it... you can watch ALL the amazing food come out. Ask for Brigid as your server.. she is the best. This place will not disappoint!

Food came out quickly, albeit somewhat unevenly timed. The decor is charming and the service was otherwise prompt and on point. The crab & corn fritters were tasty, and the herb butter accompaniment was good, if too firm initially. Overall, I'd recommend this homey diner if you're looking for a comfortable twist on cozy food.

Drinks were great! Food was great! Wait staff was super friendly and her recommendations were spot on! Pleasantly surprised by the Roasted Beet Pizza. A nice mix of savory with sweet on a perfectly crisped crust. Cool decor in what looks to be a converted farmhouse with an indoor and outdoor bar.

Myself and some girlfriends went into red dog yesterday to grab brunch. We originally picked it because I wanted something with eggs. Well come to find out they were out of eggs! They told us they were so much busier than expected, which with everything going on hell yea run Out of eggs. So I ordered corn and crab fritters which they were also out of, at this point I couldn’t help but laugh. I’ve been here a million times and I know anything I would have ordered would be divine. A manger (I’m assuming) heard our whole transaction with the cashier and told me she’d make me the fritters on the house! I was blown away by such a kind jester when their restaurant is the one that had been suffering. 13/10 recommend not only for their amazing food but incredible hospitality.

This place had a deli ious breakfast. Biscuits and homemade jam come 5 to an order with 3 jams to sample: peach strawberry and pineapple. I prefer the strawberry. The biscuits were a little dry so I just used extra butter. The bacon was well cooked. Juicy and not to crispy. Strawberry lemonade was more sweet than tart. Mac n cheese was thick and flavorful. They used bread ceumbs and pasta shells. Overall, delicious food in a laid back atmosphere.
