This shop is located in a hidden spot but it was easy enough to find but a little difficulty to pull into from the street. The shop smelled good and was very clean. The display of ice cream were nicely displayed. There were so many flavors to choose from. I'm such an indecisive person but there were at least several flavors that caught my eye. I settled for the cereal and milk flavor and it did not disappoint. It tasted like the real thing and left me wanting more!! The only thing that confused me was the menu and sizing. I asked for a scoop and what I received was like a baby sized scoop. My husband had the strawberry ice-cream in a waffle cone and said it was very delicious. My only complaint would be the iced vanilla coffee that we received. The coffee was very bitter and lacked the essentials of ice coffee which were sugar and the vanilla that we wanted. It also took a long time for the coffee to be made so we had such high expectations for the coffee and it really lacked. As this is an increasingly shop I can't be too disappointed but still was a little bit.

Absolutely, without a doubt this is a must visita establishment if you love ice cream. The ice cream is excellent. A lot of flavors and the vegan option was great!! Worth the drive to satisfy the need for sweets. Recomendable place!

One of Waldo's hidden gems. All of the ice cream is churned and made fresh. This was my first time here and I was able to sample a few flavors. My favorite was the s'mores flavor. Ended up ordering a double scoop with a waffle cone. Was so excited to eat it I forgot to take pictures! The waffle cone was the right amount of crunch. I'm honestly wondering if they actually cooked it like a waffle and then hardened it into cone form! My fiancé ordered cookies and cream. This wasn't your average cookies and cream ice cream. I 100% believe they cook real cookies and blend them into the ice cream. Was so pleased with our dessert we ordered 2 pints to go. It's a bit pricey for two, but it's my birthday it was worth it!

Delicious, friendly, and generous. We rolled up at 10 minutes to 9 (they close at 9) and got in line (out the door) and the scoopers 😉 didn’t appear rushed or bent out of shape even though it was so close to closing time. Huge props to you folks!!! Oh, and the toasted pecan ice cream in a cake cone wasn’t too bad either!

The ice cream here is delicious, but the environment depends a lot on the crowd level. The vibe is very Waldo suburban bohemian, which I’m generally okay with. But when it gets noisy and crowded, it just isn’t a pleasant place to be. It might also be nice if they could find a way to manage the line so that it doesn’t extend out the front door. That makes the wait look longer than it is, which almost prompted me to give up and go someplace else. I’m glad I stuck with it, however, because oh that ice cream. I got a double scoop of creme brûlée, which tasted just like the real thing. The texture was great as well, though it started to melt swiftly. If you hate making a mess, consider a cup rather than a cone. On top of the great food, this is a local business with a solid commitment to the community. Thus it’s well worth it to brave the lines.

Great gourmet local ice cream with very creative flavors. Plenty of parking at this easy to find location. Not too crowded today so only a short line. The selection is fantastic and the staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Fast becoming a new Kansas City favorite of mine!

One of our favorite ice cream places while we lived in Waldo! Walking in and grabbing a cup or cone of their always amazing selection was a great benefit of living nearby. Can be crowded on warm nights, but the line moves fast and it is worth the wait.

I will say that this has “okay” ice cream but nothing to brag about. I will say this is a cross between Braum’s ice cream and Cold stone but less sweet. I will say that it has a great after taste but that’s about it. Extremely reasonably priced and outstanding customer service. However, the ice cream itself was mediocre and it didn’t left me that impressed to try out other flavors.

We had never gone to either location, only tried ice cream off the food truck. There’s just something about watching your ice cream getting scooped that brings out the child in ya! You cannot be unhappy when you have an ice cream cone in your hands! This place has a cool vibe to it. The workers were nice and efficient. We loved all the plants! Definitely a Kansas City go to! The young people serving my two nieces and myself were super friendly and gave good suggestions on the menu as it was our first time eating there. Once we received our ice cream we ate it outside on their patio area. The ice cream was delicious. I will be returning

What a cute little unassuming ice cream shop hiding some fantastic flavors! All are made in-house (there's even a window where you can watch them make it) and so are the waffle cones. Forgot to ask about the BBQ ice cream, but 10/10 recommend the goat cheese with candied apricots. I was a little leery at first, but one bite won me over. Tons of options for customization and definitely something for everyone. Would've taken some home if I didn't think it would melt!

I love the ice cream here. Especially the Burnt ends ice cream! This is a great place to visit if you want to try something new. The flavors and the quality of the ice cream are some of the best!

We love the wide variety of flavors here be the quality is excellent in each. The flavors are top notch and the service is excellent. They even have courtesy lactase pills at the counter. Our son lost the scoop of mint chocolate chip he had been looking forward to all afternoon but the staff quickly and kindly replaced it for him.

Ice cream is my favorite food, so I don’t take it lightly when I say this is the best ice cream I have ever had! We went twice in one day. Cookie dough, S’mores, and Razz Blue were our top 3. Not joking when I say we will drive the 3 hours from Omaha just to eat this again.

We had BR's cater our wedding reception, and it was a great decision!! We got a bunch of compliments, and everyone *understandably* loved the ice cream. We picked them as former Waldo residents who have spent many an evening waiting in line out front or stopping in for a pint on the way home from work. Love these guys!!! Don't sleep on the waffle cones! Also, I haven't had a bad flavor yet.

Great flavors, great service. New favorite ice cream joint in KC. I got apricot goat cheese and honey lavender. They nailed these complex flavors with subtlety and accuracy. We loved it!

My husband and I just got married on 10/22/22. We planned our wedding date on when the Betty Rae’s Ice Cream Truck would be available, so I’m not exaggerating when I say that Betty Rae’s was a central part of our wedding vision. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint! I was so happy walking out of our venue on wedding night and seeing the ice cream truck out there. I was so happy to share our love for this KC ice cream shop with our family and friends. I didn’t get to catch the name of the work on the truck that night, but 1) he had 2 waffle cones available just for my hubby and me and 2) he was just a delight as he greeted us with a chill, warm smile and got us exactly what we wanted. Having the Betty Rae’s Ice Cream Truck at our wedding was everything we wanted and more.

Really good ice cream here. I had the crème brûlée flavor and enjoyed it a lot. The girlfriend had a chocolate brownie waffle cone and I tried it as well and can say it was really good too. I would say this is a must try ice cream shoppe in the Kansas City metro area. They had the classics and also some interesting new flavors I had never seen. Something for everyone.

Everything you read about this place is true. Try all the flavours. Close your eyes and let the ice cream melt in your mouth. The prices are reasonable. My suggestion would be don't eat too much of the same. Take 4 small scoops of different flavors that way you will enjoy the good ones better. Mix and match.

Great specialty ice cream flavors! No Plain Jane flavors here. Splurge and get a homemade cone to put the masterpiece in. I endorse the Goat Cheese/Apricot/Candied Walnuts concoction.

Delicious & perfect place to cool off in a 3 digit temp day! Lavender & honey- light and refreshing! Hubby got cookie dough- super tasty and generous with the dough chunks!
