Very upbeat energy and ambiance. The drinks were great and food was really enjoyable - my biggest gripe was the bone marrow was a little burnt and didn’t quite capture the essence of the marrow that I am used to from previous experiences. Apparently the entire menu is gluten free which is pretty awesome. Will definitely be back for more of the menu.

I’ve been here twice now - one with a large group and once with my partner. Both times have been excellent! I’ve enjoyed the shrimp and ahi tuna tacos, the queso, guac, trio of salsas, cheese enchiladas and churros. I highly recommend the spicy pineapple margarita, the macha salsa and the cheese enchiladas 1/2 & 1/2. While I’ve enjoyed everything, these are the things that really stood out to me. Also the churros were a very enjoyable end to the night if you have room! Love the vibe here and the food to match. Worth a visit.

Great taco spot! Heard they took first place for the asada taco at a recent tacofest but I went with a birria and Mahi Mahi taco and as you can see the birria had so much meat I couldn't close it all the way without effort, that's my kind of taco. Expect 4-5 bucks per taco but well worth that. Guacamole was also great oh and supposed to be good margaritas but I'm not a taquilla drinker. Awesome service but they get quite busy so recommend reservations, we were lucky to get a seat outside on a weekday but place was quite full. We parked in the lot across the street but took a few minutes to find parking (was free). With an appirizer, adult drinks and a couple tacos each we were under 50 bucks after tip so not bad for what you get here.

Fun happy hour in downtown Lafayette. Creative list of margaritas and shareable appetizers. Service was great at the bar, energetic fun vibe overall.

This place is super cool, it's worth the wait. Remember to make a reservation in advance if you can. If not try to grab a seat at the bar while you wait. We spent a decent amount at the time at the bar and at a table with multiple servers and they were all fantastic. There is something for every diet here and the entire kitchen is gluten free. The drinks are wonderful and the atmosphere just feels perfect with the food they did a great job. Their mojitos were not too sweet, their mags are made with all homemade syrups, everything seemed perfectly fresh and rich in flavor. Their menu is labeled very well for different diet preferences and they're happy to work with you to make sure you get exactly what you'd like.

Best damn tacos I’ve had since I visited Mexico. Actually... better. Way better! The queso? Don’t expect the runny crap you normally get at restaurants. This is the legit stuff. Oh. Yea. And the cocktails are speakeasy quality. I’ll be a regular as long as I live close enough to get here.

This is one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in Colorado. We've eaten here several times and it never disappoints. Start with the home-made tortilla chips and the corn salsa. They add roasted tortillas to the corn salsa, which gives it a rich deep smokey flavor. Yummy! This time we tried a variety of tacos. Highly recommend this as our favorite Mexican restaurant! Great service, Great food, Great place!

Pretty good. Some chips were chewy instead of crispy. I didn't care for the salsa flight that much but it's a great concept of being able to try a few different salsas. But I did really like to chicken suiza enchilada and the mole enchiladas (I don't know exactly what name they gave them). The rice and beans were meh. The atmosphere was great. The servers were attentive. Street parking, but I'm not sure if there was more parking nearby.

Teocalli Cocina is a hoppin' spot at lunch. Thank goodness the staff can handle the influx of people coming through their doors. We started with the salsa trio, which did not disappoint. All the flavors were unique and tasty. Of course I tried the street tacos, again with many choices. My favorite was actually the birria Tijuana style. Such great flavors. I will definitely be returning. I'm interested in trying the pozole!

Good Mexican restaurant, it's quite a hang out place. They have both outdoor and indoor seating. Good selection of foods and the food wait is moderate to long side. The staff is friendly and the food is authentic and taste good. Taste wise is 4 out of 5. It's not the type of restaurant for conversation as it is very loud. Overall good experience.

Went here as a result of several great recommendations from family and friends. Atmosphere was great, place was crowded, decor inviting, but think was an off night for our party of seven. To start guac was great, chips were stale and greasy and FIL had to wait 15 min for iced tea. First meal came out 15 min before next 2, where rest of table waited 10 minutes more. Food looked good but plate was very hot from sitting under heat lamps for a while that food started to get thet dried out look. Meals were flavorful, and menu has lots to offer. Will try them again some time soon. Think was just an off night.

Really good- there’s a lot on the menu I’d like to try. I had some guacamole and the carne asada. The carne is made with a hangar steak- this is a very underrated cut in my opinion, I love it. I think carne asada is usually flank or skirt steak. The hangar would be good with some chimichurri sauce if they have some- I didn’t think to ask until I was about done.

I visited this restaurant for the first time to celebrate my friend's 59th birthday party. The food is truly amazing, bursting with delightful flavors. Definitely a great take on Mexican food. The food is presented beautifully as well. It's a very busy place, but absolutely worth the wait!

I’ve gone to this place quite a few times and will still go again. There is a delightful vibe about Teocalli that keeps me coming back. The service is great except for the hostess. A few times felt like I ruined their day just by walking in. Very “like whatever”, I don't want to be here attitudes. Besides the warm welcome, Teocalli has some of the Best food and a great atmosphere in the area. The kid's quesadilla was not a great choice. Try something else for the kiddos. The salsa can be a little bland, and can excuse some dirty dishes but the water was straight out of Palestine, Ohio(Pray for Ohio). The chem swirls were not ok. Order a beer or bring your water don't risk it. (see pics of waters).

We have dinner here often, and the food is really good every time. We haven't had a dish we haven't liked! The drinks are quite good too. 👍🏻 If you don't know what to order, ask the waiter for recommendations; we have never been disappointed!

The best experience ever, so delicious everything gluten free and vegan and also many vegetarian options. If you have Celiac you will enjoy it :) I had no problems after leaving.

First time here and it is my birthday. I am celiac and my friend highly recommended. Everything was GREAT. We had a party of eight people, they told us we had to wait a little while which was fine because they had the heaters and a server outside to accommodate us with warmth and cocktails. Our server Tim was fun and took the time to walk us through the menu. My husband thought he was a hoot. The poblano enchiladas were to die for. We have been going to Efrains for the last fifty years, but it looks like this might be our new place to eat out and bring everyone we know. We had a great time. Thank you!

I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. I met up with a friend on a Monday night, and it was surprisingly busy! We decided to start with the salsa trio. Our waiter informed us that we could substitute the guac for one of the sauces without an up charge, but we were charged a few extra bucks for this. The pineapple and traditional salsa were delicious. The guac needed salt. For my main dish I ordered the chopped salad. Some thing was missing - flavor. the salad dressing was a flavorless vinaigrette and the chili oil egg was nothing special. My friend said the chicken quesadilla was just OK. I’d love to give this place another shot and try something else on the menu as maybe we just visited on an off day.

Excellent food - first time there. Great service... Very nice, engaging personalities. Very fun and tasty experience. It's hard to pick a meal because the menu is packed with so many delicious choices.

  • 5/5 Joshua N. 11 months ago on Google
Wow, this place is good. Menu is of good quality, highly imaginative, but not over the top inauthentic. Wife and I enjoyed pork belly, carne asada, and carnitas tacos. The beef was juicy and well-seasoned. Loved the cheese baked into the tortilla! The pork belly was a generous piece for a taco, had a tangy sauce, and I think some kind of spicy rub. I really want to come back for the rest of the menu. This may be my favorite restaurant in Colorado in the 14 months I've lived here. Note that while some reviewers have complaints about the service here, our experience was nothing but pleasant. Our waitress greeted us with a nuclear smile that was completely genuine, and was very attentive to our needs.

I found Teocalli Cocina through Gluten free Denver on Facebook. I came with a friend tonight to celebrate my birthday and we both thought it was amazing and said it's 10 out of 10.. I look forward to coming again in the future..

  • 4/5 Cherie 2 years ago on Google
Definitely an active and hopping local spot! The food is very good nouveau Mexican and prices are very reasonable. The only downside is that the place is really really loud - the kind of shouting across the table loud and then your voice is hoarse the next morning. They could benefit from some absorptive materials in the building to help just tone it down a little!

  • 5/5 Lauren H. 1 year ago on Google
Everything was amazing. I loved the twist on their ceviche. The salsa trio is a must have. Next time we will have to try to mole dishes.

Teocalli was absolutely packed tonight! Every age was there, drinking, eating, laughing and enjoying the atmosphere and food with their friends and families. Those that weren’t inside were outside underneath the large green umbrellas on Public Road, watching the cars go by. It was quite a scene. A very popular place. It was the first time that I have been there. I didn’t know what to order and the waiter suggested tacos, so I ordered chicken and rib tacos, that were reduced because of happy hour; and I basically spent seven bucks for an amazing dinner. Because I’m not used to eating corn, the taco shells did not agree with me, and the texture was like a sponge. Next time I’m going to order naked tacos. Other than that the tacos were really fantastic and pretty much filled me up. By the time our table of eight were done, the place was hopping and so loud I couldn’t hear the person across from me when she kept saying “it was good to meet you.” Gave us a good laugh, though! I do plan to be back for happy hour. You really can’t go wrong. Next-door is Stam the chocolate store, and it felt great to buy just one tantalizing chocolate to put the finishing touch on the meal.

Awesome tacos. I also appreciated that there were creative and delicious vegetarian and peacatarian options. House margaritas were on point. Try a selection of salsas - we were all taken with the peanut chipotle one.

My mom recommended this restaurant to me because she loved the chopped salad. After driving an hour out of my way to try it out, I was not disappointed. High quality food and great service. If you’re deciding on a restaurant to eat at, choose this one!!

  • 5/5 Megan E. 1 year ago on Google
Food is indescribably amazing. Worth every penny. Service not so much. The server did her job, but it was like talking to a robot. She only smiled when she was talking to other employees. It turned off as soon as she came to the table. I think if you're goning to pay this much for a meal, they should be a little more chipper. The hostess was weird too. But seriously worth the robotic servers for every single bite of food that was pretty much life changing.

  • 5/5 David L. 3 years ago on Google
Sitting in my Camry in a parking lot across the street is not the optimal setting for a restaurant review. I got 5 different tacos to-go. The flavor profiles were brilliant! From the pork belly to the fish. Let me emphasize that there's a lot going on here. Savory, acid, sweet, heat, texture, aroma, just an amazing palette of flavors. I can only imagine returning for dinner and cocktails some day.

Such a great local gem. We've done curbside a few times. I love the Pork Shank and the Carnitas. Tacos are excellent. All dishes show south western progressive dishes. El jefe is boss.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant on the Front Range. Because I have Celiac, it's fantastic to be able to get anything on the menu! Fabulous homemade chips. Incredible Salsas. Great food.

  • 5/5 Rachel H. 3 years ago on Google
This one of the few restaurants I can go, get amazing and safe food, and not have any worries of feeling sick after. As a celiac, that means the world and makes dining out more like the way it should be--fun and relaxing. And it doesn't hurt that their food is phenomenal. So incredibly good.

Great service. Loved my El Jefe margarita. Delicious chips and salsa. My husband loves the fundido. Great, generous tacos. Relaxing atmosphere in the time of covid. Socially distance without weirdness.

  • 5/5 Marisa K. 3 years ago on Google
Teocalli is by far me and my husband's favorite restaurant in Lafayette. Their tacos (especially the carne asada) are top notch and their entrees are very authentic and artfully crafted. It's definitely best to go during their daily happy hour and try the house Marg and queso fundido (although it's not happy hour it is an absolute must). Between the food, staff, and atmosphere, it doesn't get better than Teocalli Cocina.

This place has the best Mexican food around. We've eaten at many other Mexican restaurants in the area, and Teocalli beats them by far. The menu is unique and obviously well thought out. I love the salsa trio - x-ni-pek and macha salsas are different from what you get anywhere else, spicy and so good. The birria entree is amazing. Other favorites of ours are the guacamole, esquites, and you can't go wrong with any of the tacos. Everything is perfectly made every time. We enjoyed eating in the restaurant when that was safe, and nowadays they're handling Covid well, with lots of heated outdoor dining and curbside pickup.

We stumbled across this place by accident and will be going back again soon. It has an incredible outdoor patio with heaters galore. We tried five different types of tacos plus the guacamole. All of it top notch. They have a good beer list and the cocktails we saw looked handcrafted.
