I love coming here to talk about terrariums and how to better care for my reptiles. These guys really know their stuff and are passionate about their work! I come here about once a week to get crickets.

This place always has a great selection of used tanks and materials which I always look for. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable owner. Have been going for over 7 years now and have gotten a few of my long term pets from here. Highly recommend for people looking for captive breed snakes!

Spent over 800 dollars at this location and they made me feel so uncomfortable that I honestly thought twice about making a purchase. The moment I called them to tell them that my enclosure had broken because the light they sold me was too hot they IMMEDIATELY back pedaled and told me it wasn’t there fault. I just bought that enclosure 2 weeks ago and they were so rude to me the whole time. Every time I asked any questions while making the purchase they made me feel like I was stupid or wasting their time. Absolutely ZERO accountability from these people.

If you need anything reptile related this is the best place to go. If you need anything from a reptile enclosure for the reptile or food the guys there will definitely help you out. I have bought in numerous reptiles from them all with 100% health never any issues. I also buy feeders for my reptiles from them regularly so I know the guys there pretty well everyone has a great personality. It is honestly one of the highlights of my week is going in there and just chatting for a second. If I ever have any questions they are who I go to right away great people I would recommend them to anybody.

Every single time we’re here, the staff is nothing but incredibly sweet and helpful. We got a baby leopard gecko here a few weeks ago and he had a tough first couple of sheds— a tiny piece of skin got stuck in his eyelid and made him SUPER uncomfortable. Nothing we tried was getting it off. We called to see if they recommended any methods of removal or if we should take him to a vet and they said bring him on in and we’ll see what we can do. Not only did they help him (and save us A TON of money on a vet visit), they handled him super super gently, made helpful preventative recommendations, and showed us how to do it in the future. I WISH we got everyone’s names so we could thank them here properly. We won’t be going anywhere else!

My daughter (16) has been wanting a snake for years. Recently, she had decided it was time. Thankfully, I've known she was ready for a long time! We circled the store a few times, looking at all the cool things without fur....ew, except maybe the spiders! I loved that employees were happy to answer questions and let us hold snakes. There was also a younger boy in here at the time, having a blast holding a variety of creatures. If you haven't heard a boy run down an aisle saying, "he pooped on me!" have you really ever even been to a petstore?? Great store. We bought our snake and gear from here and would absolutely recommend them. Miraak is a very beautiful and sweet pastel ball python.

Every time I come here I am reminded why I try to avoid this place as much as possible. They continue to make me feel stupid even though most of the animals I care for are rescues that face a lot of issues and problems. Won’t be giving them my business anymore due the the extreme rudeness and lack of respect.

Went into Scakes 'N Tails tonight to get my frog all set up and even more comfortable in his digs. I went in and Max helped me out. He was so knowledgeable with his craft. He got me all set up to go bioactive, thanks for helping me make the leap. I highly recommend this reptile store.

It took me a while to write this review cause life happened but oh my goodness is this place wonderful! I believe the guy who helped me was named Tyler and I just have to say that thanks to him and Scales n Tails my dumpy tree frogs are extremely hoppy in their new enclosure. Will definitely be back for any reptilian needs

Bought my amazing bearded dragon there, he got sick and I took him in to get their opinion/be referred somewhere. The guy working said don’t worry about him not eating till he gets skinny. I waited another week and took him to someone who actually knew and this vet told me his bones were mush. Thank a lot scales and tails. my beard is is now gonna die because I was told to wait.

We absolutely adore this store! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and consistently goes out of their way to assist customers. Their commitment to the well-being of their animals is commendable, and they consistently offer a delightful selection of fun and engaging products.

I've bought & sold reptiles here many times. Rich the owner sold me my wonderful male dumerils boa Odin back in 2011(Odin is now almost 16 yrs old), & last year I bought from Rich my female 'Persephone' dumerils boa (she's roughly 10+yrs old). I have gotten rats from scales n tails since 2011! Always good quality, staff has always been helpful & friendly. 🙏 Thank you!

Owner sells "containers" for rodents to transport for $1.50 they don't work. Almost died on the way home from his negligence.

This store is much cleaner and bigger than their Englewood location. The staff here is also super helpful and knowledgeable, helping my young children research potential pets. Staff made us feel valued and important. When we are ready to purchase, we will be back.

Great scales location! Friendly staff and great customer service support. Very knowledgeable, the staff here feels like they themselves own pets instead of simply just working there.

These guys are absolutely fantastic. They are a WEALTH of information and they really know reptiles! They helped us figure out the best setup for our leopard gecko and then they showed my kid a snake eating a mouse. It was better than the zoo. Really friendly, really helpful, really knowledgeable staff who give great guidance on maintaining the happiest reptile possible.

Nicest smelling reptile store in the Denver area! If you are a reptile enthusiast, you know how much that last comment means.... they've got everything you need too.

I think what’s the saddest thing in the store are the animals. I wish I took pictures when I went in today my bf pointed out some skinks and I was so excited because they were baby’s. When I saw them I was so devastated when I saw them. They had problem with shedding and one of them lost there toes. They were both super skinny. I would never buy a animal from here just because how they take care of them. I give the skinks a week before they both die. It’s so sad to see ppl who have reptile shops and not check there animals health and especially selling sick animals. Very disappointed:(

I dont often review stores where I dont make purchases from, but this is the exception. Went in today to try and buy some african dwarf frogs. The gentleman who I believe is the owner went above and beyond and tried calling another local shop after he told me that he stopped carrying them. Will definitely be back when it's time to set my scorpion and snake tanks in the future. All 3 people in the store seemed very knowledgeable, and the animals were well cared for.

This place is good in a pinch, if you need things for your reptiles. But they charge far TOO much for supplies! And the staff is a bunch of young immature guys that goof around a bunch...

I was having a difficult time finding a specific product for my ball python. Called and spoke to the employees who were very friendly, as well as Rich. He accommodated my needs across the country. Very helpful and polite people, thank you Rich!

The lady running the place was super helpful with a tortoise my neighbors found and brought it to me knowing my family’s relationship with pets of all kinds. I told her this wasn’t a planned acquisition or was I wanting to keep it long term. I want to get it healthy and find it a good home. She knew from the pictures I was showing her that it was calcium deficient from lack of a decent diet. I’m going to get him beefed up and find him a new home but I am at my county limit of dogs and honestly time wise I can’t take on much more responsibilities. She got the kids who were trying to check out early on the Friday Memorial Day weekend was kicking off back on track and set us up for success. When his new vet feels he is ready to be rehomed I will look into options for that. Thanks to the crew working Friday 5/27/22 but you all rocked and I will recommend you to everyone who asks me.
