WOW!! They have hands down the best selection of African cichlids in the denver metro area!! They have cichlids I’ve never seen before! All the fish look beautiful and healthy. I hate I found this place because it will cause me to file for bankruptcy!! But in all seriousness, I will spread the word about this fish store because you have to see it to believe it! 👏👍👍

It is hard to find honest sellers of pets today. At About Fish Inc they are totally honest. I went into buy a discus and gave them all of my water specs. The owner told me most likely I could send my new fish into shock due to the difference between set ups. This was good to know. They recommend products to lower my ph safely for my current discus and allow me to safely expand my collection.

Been getting my aquarium supplies, live marine and freshwater fish from here for over 30yrs. Used to be Shermin Tank way back when, and still the same owner;) Only one of three places in N Denver area that still sell saltwater critters (fish, coral & inverts).. They are remodeling part of store as of June '22 for updated / upgraded saltwater system / section and added freshwater plant section. Happy Reefing!

The biggest problem I had was just how far away it is. AMAZING store. Great selection. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. With prices comparable to or FAR better than big chains (and better quality fish), I would shop here for ever fish I need

This is a great fish store, great salt and fresh water fish selection. They don’t really have a large selection of supplies, they just don’t have the space for it. But if you are going to buy a beta fish. Come here! They do it right. Each fish gets its own filtered tank and they always have quality betta fish here!

A welcoming staff and a massive selection of freshwater fish can be found here. I saw everything from Moscow guppies to arowanas here. Great prices on the more rare live bearers as well. Tanks looked clean and the fish were thriving. Pics are mostly of live bearers, but they had everything freshwater.

Fish quality is amazing and so is customer service! They are very knowledgeable and they helped me with some of my fish-related issues!! Also, everyone is super nice. As you walk in, someone welcomes you and tells you to ask if you need any help. Would highly recommend 🐠

Not very happy with the knowledge from the staff. I am an experienced fish keeper and I called them in advance to ask about the pH of their caridina shrimp since pH (acidic for caridina) is so important for them. Well, the guy over the phone told me that their crystal red and black shrimps are in water with pH of 7.5. I was stunned and surprised and asked again with the same answer. Normally caridina shrimp should be in water with pH of 5.5 to 6.8 or max 6.9 but since the guy was so convincing I got ready and adapted my cycled aquarium to that pH (7.5) and then planned to lower the pH slowly over several days to the recommended pH for caridina shrimp. I bought several crystal red and blacks and came home and decided to first test their pH and TDS. As I initially expected the pH was 6.4 so I had to improvise and re-adjust the pH to that pH in a rush and then do a super slow drip acclimation. The fact that the pH was 6.4 was good news for the shrimp but the guy telling over the phone and in person that the pH was 7.5 is crazy and wrong for the poor shrimp. Also the TDS was super high for caridina at 380 (when the recommended is 100-150). All in all not happy at all. If they sell the shrimp to someone else that won't check the pH and trusting what the "expert" of the store will tell them, then the shrimp will die for sure and we are talking about very basic stuff here. From now on unfortunately I rather buy online than local (my original preference).

These guys always have a great selection of tropical fish and plants - I really enjoy going in to see what’s new - weekly. Their prices are better than average too but the staff is the best and I’ve learned a lot from them.

We always love coming here. Great selection of fish and plants and the fish selection is unique and seems to change often. They also have a large selection of tank water treatments for fish and plants. It can be a challenge to get help when they are busy but the staff seems pretty good about knowing who has been in the store for an bit and is probably due for help. One of our top two gosh stores in the Denver Metro for sure.

Been in here a few times over the last year and a half. All of the fish I’ve gotten here were in pristine tanks, I was given clear and specific care instructions and everything I’ve gotten from this place from live fish to frozen food has been top notch! I drive in from the Rockies so I need a place I trust to be top notch so the trip isn’t wasted. Once I started going here there was no need to look anywhere else. Best fish store in Denver without a shadow of a doubt.

Fresh water only fish and a great selection at that. I never knew there were so many colorful freshwater fish! Pet smart sucks!!! Very knowledgeable staff! Great local store

Awesome selection of freshwater fish and plants for your aquarium. Super helpful staff. They also offer free water testing if you bring in your tank water.

Best selection of freshwater fish in Northern Denver, they have a pretty decent selection of freshwater plants too, but got rid of all saltwater species. The 1 star ratings saying they sell sick fish simply aren’t true. I’ve been going here for 25 years since it was in the original building, and they’ve always been honest about their fish being sick. They wouldn’t sell me certain fish on more than 1 occasion because the fish were sick, and I’m grateful for that. The staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable to me. If I had to complain about anything it would be how cluttered/cramped the store is. Setting up shop in a bigger building would be ideal

Perfect customer service and quality aquatic friends the 12 years I've been going there, exclusively.

Great staff and a really nice selection of fish. This is my go to local fish store for both new members of my tanks or if I need help. Here is how good the staff is, they dug into a big bag of parts so I could fix my old Fluvial filter - the part wasn't available online so I was worried I would need a new filter. Saved me hundreds. So now I get to spend that money on NEW FISH! Thank you for all your help and knowledge!

Great store with knowledgeable employees that are efficient at their jobs and helpful with advice and personally tips regarding the potentially good/bad types of species to choose. Depending on skill levels of the potential buyer/owner of said fish. Healthy and happy, never over crowded tanks. Great selection of both Salt and fresh water fish. Prices seem a little high but the option of such rare types , seems worth it. Great place to visit.

I am just starting out in this hobby, and boy, am I glad I went to About Fish. The gentleman I spoke to was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me craft a plan for my little 3 gallon tank. Explained to me about the nitrogen cycle and what to do during the 1st 3 months that the tank is cycling. Bought two platy fish, some flake food, and some stuff to help out with the water. Will definitely be back when it's time to add some plants / inhabitants to my tank.

The shop here on Federal, has an unusual selection. The younger fish are by far the most price conscious option, what an outstanding the event engineering that is gone into such a large number of tanks. 'S. Finest shops. Many unusual and price conscious selections available. Friendly fast and willing to stay late for the fickle customer

You can tell when you walk into a aquarium store where the owners focus is. Some shops are made to turn a profit, however this shop is made to showcase and share the owners love of fish. From your first step in the door it's a floor-to-ceiling wall-to-wall well-maintained aquariums. Their staff has been doing this since the 80s and is friendly knowledgeable and very helpful. This is the ultimate One-Stop shop for excellent aquarium supplies.. best aquarium shop in Colorado! shop in

This place has a huge variety of fish. One fish from Brazil which are now extinct. This country had built a dam which destroyed their habit. Some were wild caught and brought to the US and rebread in fresh water tanks. Any fish brought in is quarantined for 10-14 days. Guys were really nice and friendly.

This store is a wonderful alternative to the big box pet stores. The owner had a very large variety of fish and the prices were definitely very fair and affordable in my opinion. All of my questions were answered and customer service was also great.

I really wish I could remember the young man's name that helped us by my mind is failing me. We had a super hard time getting our tank going initially. Tried a well known fish store that my family has shopped at for years, after 10 dead fish in 3 days we knew we needed to find another place. Mom found Fish, inc. He told us everything to do, we followed his instructions our tank is now clear and the fish we got from him are doing absolutely amazing!! If you have questions about your tank or just want info to get started... check them out, great selection of fish and the most beautiful Beta fish I've ever seen in my life! Thanks so much Fish, inc.

After failed attempts to get healthy fish for a small aquarium at other tropical fish stores in the area I found About Fish, what a god send. Everyone there greeted me when I arrived and took the time to answer my questions. I never felt rushed to make a decision. Every employee I have had the pleasure to work with has been extremely knowledgeable about every fish and the entire correct steps to take to get an aquarium started. I only wish I had room for more aquariums so I could visit this great little store more often. The fish are extremely healthy and they have fish you won't find in the larger stores. Thank you everyone at About Fish for all of you help
