The restaurant/pub next door was fantastic and the room was Great for a place to stay before going to Newcastle airport

I can very confidently say this is the worst Premier Inn I've ever stayed in. From the outside the building is shabby and run down. Our room was terrible. Fixtures and fittings not updated for 20+ years. Taps verging on unusable for anyone who struggles with dexterity as they were that difficult to switch off. Walls cracked, stained. Furniture old and not suitable. Walls so thin you can hear people talking quietly in the room next door. Reception staff were terrible. We had travelled to watch England Women's Rugby team. We needed to check in at 3pm and leave straight away to get to the stadium but we were told we couldn't check in until 3.30. Not helpful. Do not stay here, it's just awful!

Staff were excellent but the room allocated is past a refresh, worn furnishings and signs of several repairs in the bathroom, dirty grout around the tiles. Price was good and it’s only for a night, but little things let it down like a fixed telly and with the children’s beds made up there was only room to get down the side of one bed.

Great spot if looking to travel in and out of the city. Metro station 2 min walk from hotel and food on site is good value. Only draw back is yiu will hear planes departing in morning but not too bad

Arrived late and they made a family room up for us straight away. The room was clean and large, larger than most family rooms. The bathroom was a little worn and dated and the carpet had seen better days but it was clean and the sheets were new. The breakfast next door was the best we've had in a long while with everything looking fresh and with the eggs actually tasting cooked. Good choice and friendly staff too. Good location and free parking when you stay which is good.

Wow where to begin, deffo shouldn't have premier in the name. Worse premier Inn probably in the country. Worth a stay just to experience just how poor it is. Restaurant not open no facilities near by to eat but have the cheek to offer next day breakfast. If everywhere else is booked sleep in your car before using it.

A few positives and negatives here + Excellent, friendly, helpful staff. + Comfortable beds. - Filthy heater that made the room stink. - Bathroom smelt of old socks! - Buildings look very tired. - Cooked breakfast was terrible. Dry, fatty bacon, tinned tomatoes, hash browns with more grease than potato.

Fire alarms went off at 2 in the morning by mistake. Stood in cold car park for an hour waiting for firefighters who could not turn the alarm off as there was a fault with the system and had to move to the other building. No refund given. Both breakfast and evening meals were poor and well overpriced.

Lovely breakfast, fresh and tasty. Lovely, above and beyond staff, especially a girl called Paige. She's a credit to the restaurant.

Staff are the friendliness of all the Premier inns I've stayed at. They go that extra mile. Building is old and needs some tlc, but comfortable and perfect for the airport.

Absolutely fine premier inn. It’s a little old which you can see from the building but the location and service is spot on. I found the room (43) excellent and comfortable. It takes 1 min to walk to the Metro and then 2 mins to get to the airport. Also really good access to the A1 if you have a hire car and maybe a 15 drive to Newcastle city centre.

I’m posting this in both Premier Inn Newcastle Airport South, and Premier Inn Newcastle Airport, having stayed in both hotels one week apart. Everyone knows what to expect with Premier Inn, and this is what we got at the main airport hotel. Clean, comfy beds, hot showers and relatively noise free. We had to pay £7 for parking however. The hotel staff were friendly The Newcastle Airport South hotel was a different experience. It’s always about the small details. Our family rooms had free sweet treats, drinks and colouring activities to do for the kids on our arrival. Parking was free. The rooms were perfect for our needs and the staff were so nice. I would definitely fly from the South branch in future.

Careful when booking, there is a closer premier Inn to Newcastle airport. Clean and tidy room, tired decor. Helpful lady on reception and attached restaurant is cheap and cheerful :-)

I was a bit worried as to what I would find considering some of the more recent reviews for this hotel. It is a looking a bit tired, it was looking a bit tatty in places (espcially the bathroom) and if you were going to watch TV all day and night a pair of binoculars would be recommended but it was fine for one night and perfectly comfortable, if dated compared to the newer Premier Inn bedrooms. My room was on the upper floor of the main hotel building, it was comfortable, however the security light right outside the window was a bit of a pain as it came in round the curtains but on the plus side, ample parking and if you need to get to the airport its one stop on the Metro that stops opposite the hotel. I can understand some of the comments from other people about their stay - especially those who end up in a room in the separate building that houses the restaurant as its a bit of an odd set up and does look a bit tired on the outside but would stay again if in the area and it was cheaper than the other Premier Inn just up the road. Breakfast was fine, I don't think this hotel gets a big throughput of people wanting breakfast so it maybe wasn't as appetising as other Premier Inns but overall a nice enough stay.

A very old and tired building. Room smelt damp. It needs a major make over. Bed was comfy and sheets were clean. Bathroom was clean but very 1980's. Don't het me started on the state of the carpet! Adjoining restaurant was just as old. Good was OK.

Really good value for money, very good location as well. Pub nearby which is great for food and drinks. Rooms are a bit dated, but the hotel itself was lovely.

The breakfast was good, staff very helpful & good.......BUT rooms in dire need of a refurb. Room very tired, tv extremely small, bathroom needs a complete refurbishment although a good shower but everything else needs replacing. No Premier Inn runner on the bed! Very very basic furniture In room, spider & critter squashed on ceiling. Net curtain needs either washing or replacing, carpet frayed into bathrooom. First time everstayed in Premier Inn in an uncomfortable bed. All in all just needs a complete overhaul!!! Very disappointed.

Staff are great but rooms quite tired and in need of an upgrade. Not what We were expecting. Bar shuts at 10pm, was looking forward to a pint after a long drive.

The staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast acceptable although the continental offerings were not good... Stale croissants. Room very tired and dirty, carpet fraid lack of furniture bathroom needs a revamp although had a good shower. Dead bugs everyware including squashed on the ceiling. Tv a shockingly small size especially for a family room. Lighting a mixture of warm and cool lighting. Unasthetically pleasing art. Beds uncomfortable, barely slept would not recommend this particular Premier inn.

1 metro stop from Newcastle airport. I've stayed here many times Iver the last 25 years and it's a favourite stay for Newcastle City centre as its only 3min walk to the metro and circa 4.50 for a return day saver ticket into Newcastle and back. Newcastle is 25 mins ride to the centre. Buy tickets at the station and pay by card. There's a farmhouse inn next door with a lovely carvery until about 8pm. Fantastic food and great value. Cake is huge so cake away is recommended. They also have a selection of ice-cream too. We used the green King app to order food and drink which was particularly easy and great on busy nights to order drinks to table. Staff A1 always at the premier inn, better than any other Premier in the area. Mega all you can eat breakfast for £9 odd. Downsides? Not much but no aircon in rooms. So think twice in the summer.

Cleaning needs sorting out, we found seven spiders and six other bug type things in the room, not great as our son is scared of spiders🤔 Bed was comfy, bathroom was OK, guy that checked us in was happy and helpful. Breakfast was very good
