Just saw Million Dollar Quartet, an impromptu jam session with Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Perkins in December 4, 1956 which also included story of Sun Record Studios. The play was outstanding, actors were marvelous in portraying the actual musicians and just a thrill of fun! The theater itself is lovely, as you come inside a sundry of little shops carrying clothing and accessories to the right, and to the left the lobby and entrance to stage. Stage is not cramped, plenty of seating, good view, and well air conditioned. First time coming and looking forward to future visits. Worth it!

Saw the play about Patsy Cline, the music and singing were outstanding, the funny lady sidekick was great. We all three enjoyed their artistry tremendously.

I love seeing shows at Florida Rep! The main theatre has so much character. All the seats are great. The staff is always so friendly. And whether you're seeing a main show or an education show, it's such a high quality show! And the education department has so many ways for kids to get involved from backstage to acting on stage.

My granddaughter was in the practice and play titled ELF Jr. the musical. It was one of the best experiences for her this summer. She is still talking about how much she enjoyed it and how many friends she made during that time. The staff treated her with respect and kindness. Thank you so much for everything you did to make this time enjoyable for her. Her family and friends loved both performances.

Our 7 year old won tickets and a back stage tour through Festival of Trees to see the Buddy Holly show. It was one for the memory books! The talent was just as strong as some Broadway shows we’ve seen, the theatre was itself was great and the manager and his wife made it over the top! Our daughter was treated like royalty and still to this day, almost a year later, she talks about her experience with pride and dreams. Our entire family loves theatre and this performance had us all mesmerized. They know how to pick them, make them and find the talent for them! But besides that, this theatre sold me with their heart. Our experience was just spectacular and we highly recommend it for families. Talk the kids to theatre, they will love it! Ours are begging for more. Way to go Florida Rep, way to go!

Amazed at the beauty of this theater. Classic theater with great performers. Sound and visuals were fantastic. Appreciated the mix of traditional and modern visuals used throughout the show. Great place to take aspiring young actors.

West Side Story was terrific. The dancing and singing were both professional and well choreographed. Maria's voice was lovely and strong. A play everyone of all ages would appreciate! The love story for eternity!

We just saw the Show Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. What a fabulous show. I will compare it with Million Dollar Quartet. It was the preview show so can’t imagine it getting better each performance. The entire cast was so professional and couldn't have been better. I have been to this theater several times and i must say this was the best. Thanks also to all the staff of the theater. Great job.

Excellent experience for four of us on a Saturday evening performance of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story!! Extremely talented cast for a really FUN show!! Great sound, lighting and set designs. Comfortable seats. Accessible. Nice, friendly, and attentive staff. Easy parking right across the street. We love this intimate theater in the heart of Downtown Fort Myers. April 2022 Excellent production and performances for Ring Of Fire, The Music of Johnny Cash!! Extremely talented cast. The location is accessible in most areas, but one must be able to transfer to a theater seat. It is a beautiful, historic building. Friendly staff and volunteers. We love this theater. April 2023

Just got back from A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. It was an outstanding performance and has bee extended. I have enjoyed all the performances at this venue but this latest was in a class by itself. Kudos to everyone involved!

The productions are as good as what you get on Broadway. The attention to detail and accommodations they make for hearing impaired is top notch.

We saw Lady Day yesterday. The cast did an amazing job. Ebony Pullum was first rate in her singing and her portrayal of Billie Holiday. This could not have been an easy part to play and she did it with passion and compassion. If you know anything about Billie Holiday, you would expect this to be a somber play. If you were already weighed down by hurricane Ian, this can be a heavy subject. However, if you want to see an great performance, and hear some classic Billie Holiday songs sung just as she did at the end of her short life, you should see the play. Kudos to the cast and to Florida Rep for making this happen under these difficult circumstances following the hurricane. Thank you!

Into the Breeches was excellent. The way the characters developed was amazing. The actors were superb. Plus it was good to be there for our first live play for several years. FL Rep plays never disappoint.

I had back row seats and the sight lines were pretty good and the sound was fine. Very professional production all the way around. I went to a preview performance so I would expect regular shoes to be quite good. We saw An Inspector Visits.

Absolutely one of the best repertory theaters in the country!!!! We go to The Florida Rep at least twice each season because they consistently choose an interesting variety of plays, that are very well acted, and take place in an extremely comfortable theater. They also have a second, more intimate adjoining theater, where they perform more contemporary (sometimes world premieres) plays. Additionally they have been adding some musical tributes that achieve the same high standards - Patsy Cline, Nat King Cole, etc. You will not be disappointed - make it a night by purchasing advance tickets to a show and dine or drink in town before or after the performance.

Saw the play, A Gentlemen's Guide to Love and Murder. The theater is one of the oldest in Fort Myers. Was told vaudeville acts were hosted here. Lots of character. Worth going at least once

Outstanding pithy little theater production of Over the River and Through the Woods. The entire production was equal to any drama we have attended in NYC!

The Rep is great, but we just got back from Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill. It was very depressing and not at all what we expected. I know it was scheduled last year, but we were hoping for a break from Ian, not a black drunk for 90 minutes. I was ready to leave after 20 minutes, but stayed hoping for some better times.

I have watched shows at Florida rep for a very long time now. MOST conservatories never fail to disappoint! I've watched a few summer intensives, and last night I came to watch footloose. I was hoping this would be an amazing show, as I loved the original footloose. before you read this section of the review, I want you to know I am not one of those "angry reviewers". I'm giving my sincere opinion and feeback. It seemed like the cast was casted more on their ages. It seemed like a lot of older girls. The key characters were missing the talent. Now I understand that this is an older show, but the characters should be casted on talent! I won't mention who to save embarrassment, but some of the girls who sang the songs couldnt sing very well or were extremely loud. Loud in an overdramatic way. Theatre you're supposed to be loud, but this was a screaming song loud. As I said, the cast was definitely based on the girls ages. I saw some boys and girls in ensemble that could've fulfilled the key character roles much better than the older kids had. I understand you don't want to put younger kids in the principal roles, but some of those principal's should've been in ensemble regardless of their age!!! Please don't take this as offense, I was in theatre myself for a long time. I'm just very disappointed in how this was casted. Maybe because they're all new staff? I honestly don't know.

This theatre puts on the absolute best shows! The whole cast works extremely hard, and every production I've ever seen is just wonderfully entertaining! I'd give 6 stars if I could. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

A night out at Florida Rep is always a treat, but when they've just reopened after a hurricane it's like having whipped cream on your sundae. Of course, the performances are always first rate and the shows they choose to produce are always remarkable. Do yourself a favor - - if you've never been to Florida Rep, grab some tickets for the next great production.

Love the old theater style. Outstanding production of "An Inspector Calls". A/C needed to be turned on a bit sooner but it did fool fast and stayed consistent when they did turn it on. Everything else was perfect.

We attended the production β€œRing of Fire, The Music of Johnny Cash yesterday and I was extremely impressed with the high level of professionalism and talent the actors displayed. Each of them played multiple instruments and were all blessed with great singing voices as well. The theatre itself is a beautiful facility and the volunteers were very friendly and helpful. We look forward to a return visit soon.

Very nice theater in a throwback historic building. There are no bad seats. They want to make sure you have a good time. The drinks in the bar are very reasonable.

Excellent production of August Wilson's Fences in a classic old Fort Myers structure. Go for a meal at Firestone, before the play walk the streets and view the welded sheet metal sculptures of local characters in characteristic poses, or shop for the eclectic fashions across from the box office.

Nice little theater, that has great acoustics. Not very expensive to watch quality plays. Reasonable prices for wine, beer and snacks. Good sightlines without other heads being in your way. For this particular play ' Hay Fever' the set was very will designed and presented.
