Absolutely ridiculous. Just tried to get a one week loan from them on a high quality instrument that I know for a fact is worth AT LEAST $300-$350 used. They offered me $80 (only needed $120 to pay some bills), which I knew was much to low. The attendant then tried to say he found the instrument on eBay(?) for $200 used. I wanted to see for myself,which he wouldn't show me, so I stood right there and used my cell phone to look at eBay listings. The lowest one I could find was $350 used. I showed him my own findings and he got incredibly defensive because he knew his cheap low ball tactics weren't going to,work on me. These people obviously have absolutely 0 concern for customer care. There was a man in the store at the same time as me who said he would gladly pay 300 for my guitar, which is still a very low price. This is the first and hopefully last time a business has been bad enough to prompt me to write them a negative review. These people are rude, cheap and all around unpleasant to try to deal with. Oh and I hope one of the Welsh Pawn shop employees reads this, because I went right down the street to Gold Rush pawn, who were more than eager to lend me the 120, stating " if you don't come back for it, we just made 180 bucks" NEVER EVER GO TO THIS PLACE. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid you're business at all costs

I pawned a 22 long rifle lever action Henry gun, I gave them my ID & everything they needed. When I went to pick up my gun, I was told my I'd didn't match the address I gave. I volunteered that information when I pawned it. Everything was the same as when I was there originally. I was told when I borrowed the money that if I had a bad back ground check they would keep it, of course that was not a problem.my point is that I had to show a new tag receipt proving I had already stated I lived. I will never trust Welsh pawn shop again because if you have a hickup as the man told me! You will not get your gun back. Beware of Welsh pawn shop with a gun pawn

I went into this store today looking to sell a vintage diamond ring. They were only able to offer me $600 and I was looking for more. They were very helpful in recommending a jeweler down the street. I took their advice and was able to sell my ring for $1150 at that jewelry store. Eventhough I didn't do business with them, they were very helpful to me and I appreciate it.

I love EVERYONE in the shop. They are an awesome group of people. A few weeks ago I found a ring in there that I fell in love with. Took my soon to be husband in there for his approval and it was gone. I was heart broken. Little did I know, he had been in there earlier and bought it. Darrell, I think it was knew and didn't say a word. I think Liz knew too. We've been doing business with them for awhile now and that just confirmed how great they are. They know their stuff and treat you like family. BEST pawn shop in Savannah.

Came in on a Tuesday morning to sell some gold. Got more than a fair price, great customer service, and the selection of items in the store looked great. Went to leave, and my car battery had died. They were even kind enough to come out and jump my car for me. Highly recommend this business. I will now go nowhere else. Thanks Welsh!

Never was given notice of item twice now that it was going to be pulled and I’m signed up for the text automated system. And they still pulled my item and won’t work with me at all. I’ve been doing business with them for almost 4 years. The lest they can do is pull it from inventory and work with a customer that’s given them this much business. Also being a veteran I expected a little more courtesy from the employees. To just not call or send the automated text out which I have proof wasn’t done they could have called which was how it was originally done till the new system. Edit: the owner Richard contacted me first thing this morning and was very polite and courteous and resolved the issue. I’m very grateful for his timely response and will continue to use them as I have been for coming up on 5 years. They are awesome establishment and I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you again Richard and Welch’s for working with me and caring about your customers. You guys are too notch and I thank you for valuing your patrons.

Great place I’ve been frequenting for years, inventory changes daily. Sales associates always knowledgeable on products and friendly. I’ve went into the Derenne location specifically looking for a certain firearm and they had it at a different location in which they held in the back till the next day, allowing me time to go in and pay for it. Great little family owned shop staffed with great people.

Buying things are great! But, don't get anything "repaired" there. They've repaired the same ring twice. Then charged me $30 to repair a earring and necklace set I bought hours earlier at the store! The stones were loose. My bad for thinking they had quality merchandise. Everything is still loose after paying a inflated repair job. Which was crappy at best and now I just lost an opal from their "repair job". My fault for not being aggressive, it's just not my jam. Welsh is a local shop and as a Savannahian, I expected better. Lesson learned. Buyer beware, they stink at repair and have disappointed me for the last time. Sad.

I went in the shop in hopes of decluttering my home with all the “junk” I had with me, and the staff were nothing short of helpful and nice even though I’m sure it was overwhelming! This was my first ever pawn shop experience and I was slightly intimidated, but they carefully went over all of my items, gave me a price I was satisfied with, and cashed me out. If I ever need a pawn shop again, I won’t be going elsewhere!

IF WE WERE A WHITE FAMILY WE WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN DENIED SERVICE!!!! We are a BLACK family we visited this place on march 6 2023, I told the lady at the counter I was a first time buyer so I didn’t have all the information or knowledge., I was asking questions to my boyfriend because like I said first time buyer. I finally decided on the item and gave her my id , she went to the back and came back to ask for my boyfriends id even though he was not making any purchases but he complied anyway. The lady and the older guy went to the back spoke and came back and denied service. Their excuse was that my boyfriend was doing most of the talking and they felt I was buying it for him. I stated multiple times that it was for me I was paying I needed to provide id. No where in their policy does it mention that they need to check everyone’s id only the person who makes the purchase so why did they check his id? . Immediately we knew they were racist because if a white woman didn’t know about something and her white husband helped her they wouldn’t look at it like she is buying it for him so it’s complete RASISM .So We left went to another welsh location I walk in first and the guy in the store directs me over to the items I was looking for ,he started talking to me about the items as soon as my boyfriend walked in he said that he was told not to service us. The guy stated that the other welsh location told him to deny us service if we came. Which is crazy because we did nothing wrong. We went to a completely different pawn shop and I was still asking my boyfriend questions but they didn’t deny our service. Wish I could give ZERO STARS TOTAL RASISM AND UNFAIRNESS

The owner is racist and rude. Horrible customer service. Don't recommend going here Edit: Calling someone an "it" and blaming the "Race Card". Is also Very Racist. Noted that my review has met its standards. Hope people read upon this review and heed my recommendation of not going there.

California owner. Sells more guns to felons that are then used in more crimes (locally and as far as NYC) than any other gun dealer in Savannah.
