Tonight my nephew had a ceremony for the accomplishment of his green belt. If you want your children to have more discipline and more stable this is a great activity to put them in. The instructor Mr. Yu is a very notable instructor whom care deeply for the child he teaches and helps them achieve the knowledge of martial arts.

I have been studying here for over 5 years. The family atmosphere is very special. Everyone is welcomed with open arms. The programs are structured to fit all ages and levels of ability. This is where I have found my fitness for the longest amount of time. I have been part of other programs but none like this one. Join us, you'll be impressed.

My son and I have been going to Yu’s Academy for 6 years. We love learning Martial Arts together and absolutely love the family environment at Yu’s. The instructors genuinely care about their students and fellow students care about each other as if we are brothers & sister. The most positive, fun but yet hard working academy around. The instructors are awesome and do everything they can to help you learn. They never give up teaching and have the most patience ever. The classmates are the best as well. They all help you through anything that you struggle with and cheer you on. When my son first started he was shy and it took a while to break him out of his shell. There were only certain instructors and classmates he would work with but they stuck by him and he is now black belt today. He still loves going and loves to continue to learn new things and loves working with his classmate and instructors. I am glad we chose Yu’s Academy and became part of their family.

My family and I have been practicing Tae Kwon Do for over 2 years at Yu’s Academy. We absolutely love the Academy and all the Instructors. They make classes fun while you learn a valuable skill. It is an fantastic place to teach children and adults about self defense, discipline, and respect. 5 stars doesn’t seem to be enough.

Brennan has gained so many skills from Yu’s Academy. Everyone is extremely helpful and he is only two belts from being a Black Belt. As parents we continue to push him to accomplish his goal. I would recommend Yu’s Academy to everyone!!!! Wonderful business.

Yu's Academy is a traditional martial arts school which has been around for over 40 years in Saint Joseph, MO. It's great exercise for everyone in the family. We love that it has become more like a family than a school.

We had my 5 year old daughter try out Yu’s, not really having any expectations. She absolutely loved it from the first class. Everyone is kind and patient with her, would definitely recommend.

I have been a member here for over two years now and I've never regretted it. From the moment you walk in, the black belts and instructors are committed to helping you love martial arts as much as they do. I've gained not just friends, but confidence in both how I move and how I conduct myself overall. I've seen this same change in the kids I've worked with. I credit my passion for taekwondo to Master Instructor Sims, who also works INCREDIBLY hard to keep the gears turning here. We all appreciate his endeavors both on and off the mat!

We love Yu’s! We’ve had kids in the academy for over a year now and I have nothing but great things to say. It is a positive environment for kids and adults to not only learn martial arts skills, but also how to treat others with respect. We so appreciate Master Sims and all the instructors- for their time and kindness and attentiveness to our boys. They always have fun and feel challenged and encouraged. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I highly recommend Yu’s Academy for anyone interested in martial arts! Master Sims and the rest of the instructors are knowledgeable, passionate, and truly care about the students. Everyone works really well together and it has started to feel like a second home. My son is so happy and it has been great for not only his martial arts skills and physical fitness, but also his social, emotional, and mental maturity. He has learned about the importance of reading, how to deal with bullies, how to work well with others, what it means to be respectful and disciplined, and there are always opportunities for leadership. I have seen him grow so much since starting at Yu’s and I’m excited to watch him continue to grow!.

I don’t normally leave reviews but I absolutely love Yu’s academy. A truly great place to take your kids. I have been bringing my daughter and son here for over a year and they absolutely love it. My son is a very distracted little guy but the instructors are wonderful and patient with him. Not only just learning self defense, but just as important, respect and discipline. Can’t express how much we absolutely love and appreciate the wonderful experience my kids are having here.

My kids love it here! We have been attending classes for well over a year now. It has helped to instill confidence, self discipline and boost their self esteem. I believe Master Sims has been a great role mode. This is a great place for children of all ages to fit in and learn something new.

Yu’s Academy is a great place to learn Korean style martial arts. Master Sims and his team provide great instruction and challenge each person to be their best. Master Sims is extremely experience and dedicated. I highly recommend Yu’s Academy Martial Arts and Family Fitness Center.
