Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Good selection of bait fish minnows etc. Lots of fishing tackle snacks and food.

I ordered the 8 piece white with 2 sides and 4 biscuits. The chicken was fresh and juicy. It was all so delicious and cooked to perfection. The green beans and corn are mine in the picture LOL but everything else was from here. I recommend 5/5 stars and can't wait to try their other menu items!

We Love coming here to pick up fresh fried chicken, yummy potato salad & live bait for fishing. And of course, the owners are the best! Always friendly, always helping us find the right fishing tackle & introducing us to any new items on the food menu. We are very picky eaters & have loved everything we've tasted there. I highly recommend you stop by, grab some hot food, a cold drink & be sure to get dessert!

Update: We called after seeing the owners message and they remade our chicken dinner allowing us to try it again. It was perfect. The heat was an accident and their original chicken is not spicy. The chicken was so good and thank you so much fir making it right. That goes a long way around here. The biscuits are great, the okra is made to perfection and the coleslaw was super good. Can't wait to have it again. If you haven't given them try then what are you waiting for. Just say, skip the spice please lol!! Better than Chicken E!!! …….................. What we are surprised about is there is no mention of how spicy this chicken is. Not sure what the deal is with the spice. But, after hearing how great this chicken was we decided to finally get some and try it for ourselves. We just wanted to skip cooking tonight. My husband who is actually quite fond of spice and chef of 20+ yrs made a plate and sat to eat. He dang near choked on the spice. I peeled the skin off one piece and ate it and the little spice I got holy cow I could have blown flames from my mouth. My poor husband got sick from the spice. The mashed potatoes were bland though and just salty. Like is this normal? The okra was good though. But yeah, so we won't be returning customers..sorry, but we can't handle that much spicy heat or enjoy it. We spent $20 on something we couldn't even enjoy. 🤮😤😡 had to eat something different for dinner. I should have researched more...

Great customer service and amazing fried chicken! You need to get the biscuits they are soooo good. Friendly couple ever, this will be are go to spot when we visit Lake Whitney.

The wife and I stop by on a camping trip to Lake Whitney. Fish was amazing, the chicken was delicious and the sides are wonderfully made. The to go containers for exactly what we needed for our camping trip. The first kid was even good. We will 100% be back.

Our favorite place to stop when camping. The people are so very friendly. Food is cooked fresh. We had burgers and chicken strips. Bait is priced well.

Oh man the hometown feel and the employees there are great very helpful, smile and will help you with anything they can. It's a great place to pick up the stuff you need when your heading that way, to the lake, picnic or camping what have you. it's great wonderful place. The feel of it is easy going a place where you are at home, I would give it 5 stars, but I'm tough like that. (Smile) ...again, sorry no pictures. I need to get better about that.

Best bait shop around without a doubt. The owners and staff are the nicest people you'll ever meet and the kitchen does not disappoint!! This place has it all. Highly recommended

After Sonic decided to comment over the phone by a man who I presume is the manager at the time that I would have better luck somewhere else after I called them to complain about the sloppy hamburger that I received from them. I told their HQ office I would find a better place since everybody was talking about this place called boondocks bait and more and try it out been going there for about a couple of months usually takes me about a couple months to post something about somewhere I'm eating cuz I want to get the full experience after all. On a note I have PTSD severe. Me and my wife walked down to The boondocks bait and more quite a few times and every time I'm having a panic attack because PTSD but upon entry and you get warm friendly faces which makes it much easier. Everyone is professional, they're courteous I'm not a very talkative person in public but I've watched them deal with other customers. I can say on a personal level that they will continue to have my business as long as they're open. And seeing how they do treat their customers I don't think they'll ever have a problem staying open. This coming from a person who is not fond of fast food I do not like the idea of someone else handling my food but seeing them in an open kitchen I wouldn't mind them making my food. And anybody that asks me personally for a place to eat I'll be sending them to your business. I can't help that I'm multi-layered, blunt person with a side of paranoia. But the people here at this diner and shop do make it a lot easier to deal with the stress of going out into public with a disability that can cause you to freak out at any moment. But that is why I'm medicated but even then it's a 50/50. And a person with my type of disability who has panic attacks more than 10-20 times a day and 5-10 at night can tell you that life can be a lot more stressful when you're dealing with rude employees regardless if it's on the phone or in person. Since I have panic attacks even when I'm on the phone dealing with a rude employee can make it even more stressful. So my entire family eats at your diner and shop.

Surprisingly great little hidden gem!! Chicken tenders were juicy & tender. Will definitely be eating here again!!
