Visited here on a day when it was closed. But being able to walk around the outside of the building and looking at the planes that have been placed in various different ways. To top it off the views across the channel are stunning. The visit was back in December I bet when its open this is a very popular attraction to visit

Smashing place to visit - beautiful grounds and scale model planes. The chargeable interactive “Scramble Experience” was also very good for both adults and children. If you’re lucky you may get to see the local Spitfire fly over! Cafe was smashing with elevated views and very well priced food/drinks. Chargeable car park (take coins!). Marked down a star though as had confirmation from staff that dogs on leads were accepted in the grounds (after seeing a dog there). Told my parents who took their small dog only to be turned away!

Potential is huge. A great, flight-inspired building and lovely landscaping and views. But the Cafe: Deserted despite a sunny weekend. So many wasted opportunities! Instant coffee posing as cappuccino, food: greasy sausage roll or pre-wrapped muffin, bored staff with nobody to serve. Heaven help coachloads... Panoramic views of Channel, but absolutely no reason to visit the cafe. Compare it with the fabulous Clifftop Cafe along the cliff and you'll give this BoB cafe a wide berth. Old, backwardly nostalgic thinking abounds, not a flicker of attraction - and they charge £1 per hour parking. Be ashamed and pity those poor veterans...

Very picturesque and tranquil place. The views of the ocean is also great from up here. On a clear day we can catch a glimpse of the European shores from the scope placed in the cafe upstairs.

On the day we visited the memorial was covered by sea mist which added to the atmosphere. Very poignant moment to think of all those young pilots who gave their lives for our freedom. Lest we forget. Earlier in the day I got the shot of a Spitfire flying over the sea. It's worth a few minutes of your time.

Free entry and very helpful and knowledgeable staff. A great tribute to the Battle of Britain. The names and information about those who died during the Battle are available. I had a delicious cream tea in the cafe which overlooks the whole site and beyond. A must visit for anyone with a relative who served in the Battle of Britain or for anyone wishing to know more about the momentous time in history.

We timed our visit to coincide with Battle of Britain day and were able to join the short service of Remembrance. Such a privilege and made more special by the spitfire overhead just as the act of Remembrance started. A beautiful and fitting tribute to those who served. The cafe was busy but we expected that. Those serving behind the counter were helpful and the cakes delicious. The scramble experience was worth the small payment. Lots to learn and the films moving. Outside provided a lovely space to walk around with well kept grounds and lots to see. We especially loved the doors in the toilets...so different!

Wow what a beautifully respectful peaceful place to visit. It really does give you a huge sense of appreciation visiting the Battle of Britain Memorial in Folkestone. Just a little walk around but so many emotions will flow through you in a short time, I highly recommend a stop if you can. All you have to pay for is the parking but have the option to donate. The volunteers are friendly, informative and helpful. I would like to pass on my thanks for their commitment to such an important cause.

Loved visiting this place a real sense of what the few went through all those years ago. Various memorabilia on sale and not overpriced for what they have all goes to the trust and local businesses that have provided goods. Lovely memorial to the few who gave us all so much.

This place is amazing. A very serene memorial outside. An incredible tech production inside. First came the pilot memorial outside that the Queen Mum dedicated. Then Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip dedicated the opening of the great building. Lovely cafe upstairs with a balcony overlooking the grounds, too. Do not miss this place!

A relatively small but superbly presented reminder of the sacrifice our fighter airmen made during the war. Manned by volunteers, this memorial tastefully and soberly presents that sacrifice. It looks out over the English channel, and on a sunny day, it is stunning. If you are in the area this is a must visit, as a visual and spiritual experience and a thank you to the airmen and the volunteers.

What a fitting memorial to ‘the few’. Had wanted to visit for years and it didn’t disappoint. How incredibly brave those men were. The memorial is wonderful, the airman sculpture sitting there in quiet contemplation looking over the coastline is very moving. There is good parking, a coffee shop, toilet facilities and a small gift shop too.

Fantastic memorial and museum. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there despite the weather being pretty horrific. The scramble experience was extremely well put together. With the perfect mix of interactive learning and insightful videos. I would love to come again in the summer as I'm sure it's got a beautiful view.

A great walk. Suitable for the old, young and also families with children. Dogs only on a lead. Great views of the Cliffs of Dover and Folkenstone and nothing (the sea) in between. Free public toilets in "top of the top" condition. A restaurant where there are binoculars on the top floor. Excursion at reasonable prices, as well as parking. Souvenir shop. Beautiful monuments, people and their sayings, planes. Free view. Beautiful, I will definitely go again 5 of a 5!!!

My nephew is obsessed with historical military and loved visiting here. I did find it a little hard to keep his attention engaged but he's only 10 and wanted to look at things rather than read. He loved exploring the replica planes and visiting the memorial. Car parking is pay by cash so make sure you have change it was £1 for up to 3 hours. I had a coffee from the cafe and the food looked great when I saw it being taken out. There's an outside seating area along with an indoor seating area that's wheelchair friendly and accessible via a lift. A family friendly day out with a lot to take in.

An amazing time spent at the museum and i would advise everyone to take your time and definitely pay for the Scramble experience. It was incredible. Lovely gift shop and cafe to finish off your day nicely too. The staff were extremely friendly

It is a beautiful place to visit to honour the Battle of Britain heroes. Visit the experience room for a small charge and learn much more about these brave men who flew and everyone else involved in what was an iconic moment in the war. Set in beautiful grounds overlooking the cliffs. Visit the cafe and sit on the terrace. Enjoy the views and reflect. We were lucky that a spitfire flew over while we were visiting making the day even more special.

Small footprint containing a lot of information about WW2 air & ground crew. Worth a visit. Car park is not free. Entrance to the monument, cafe & shop is free. Great views across to France on a clear day & often accompanied with the unmistakable sound of a Spitfire overhead..... some people can afford a 'bucket list' flight!!

Arrived here via the North downs way path. It was late in the day so the main building was closed. The grounds and monuments are pristine with excellent information boards. Really good to see a Spitfire and Hurricane together. I spent about 20-30 minutes looking around and reading the boards Excellent view out to sea as you rejoin the path. A very fitting tribute. I saw a car park at the front of the building which seemed easily accessible.

Fantastic memorial site, very peaceful whilst reading the stories and names of those who served us in our hour of need. Well maintained by the lovely staff and I would recommend to anyone with an interest in the Battle of Britain to visit.

Went out walking from the campsite and just happened to come across this memorial. Is a nice place to visit and imagine what it would have been like during the peak of the battle

Fantastic tribute to those brave souls who fought in the skies of the second world War. Pay and display parking and there is a nice cafe upstairs with shop , toilets and exhibition downstairs. If your lucky you may see the spitfire fly passed ( the two seater one for paying guests )

My partner and I spent a lovely afternoon here. Friendly staff, fascinating well laid out exhibition and completely accessible for people in wheelchairs although the car park had a gravel surface so if you cant get one of the allocated disabled spaces it may be difficult to cross. The memorial is free to enter and I highly recommend visiting the "Scramble" exhibition for which there is a small charge.

Yet another place where you can learn about Battle of Britain. Would recommend to pay for entering the scramble experience. Not only plenty of information available there about the battle itself but some entertainment also - you can sit in the pilot seat and fight the enemy, try to operate radar, try on some pilot's clothes... Cafe has some amazing ice cream and good selection of teas, coffees and cakes.

An amazing place to visit, really understand the history of those brave souls that allowed us the freedom we have today. I have been before but decided it was time my daughter and granddaughter had the experience and they both loved it. Outstanding and emotional. Free to enter but please donate to them to help keep it going for generations to come. Small parking charges apply.

Popped in today as passed many times before but never stopped there, beautiful well kept area which is immaculate, excellent viewing platform where you can look across to France on a clear day, coffee was very nice and sensibly priced, staff were very friendly and helpful, such a peaceful place to be.

This place is just fantastic and well worth a visit unfortunately I was just passing between jobs so couldn't spend more than half hour but you could easily spend half a day here, plenty of things to see and also a simulator to have a go of, unfortunately I didn't have the time.. Enjoy the photos, it's a unique part of british history that should never be forgotten.
