"My
mom
(54)
and
I
(24)
decided
to
take
a
gene
test
at
Bedford
Breast
Center
because
we
want
to
know
if
we're
at
high
risk
for
breast
and
ovarian
cancer.
My
maternal
grandmother
was
diagnosed
with
ovarian
cancer
when
she
was
57,
my
paternal
aunt
was
diagnosed
with
breast
cancer
at
56,
and
other
relatives
have
experienced
other
cancers
and
health
issues.
With
our
family's
history,
it's
in
our
best
interest
to
get
tested
so
we
know
what
to
look
out
for
and
to
take
care
of
our
health.
I'm
not
going
to
lie,
the
thought
of
being
BRCA
positive
is
scary.
I
find
myself
overthinking
about
what
would
happen
--
where
do
we
go
from
there?
This
is
why
I'm
so
glad
I
came
to
Bedford
Breast
Center
because
Sarah,
the
Physician
Associate,
reassured
my
mom
and
me.
No
matter
the
outcome,
we're
in
the
best
and
safest
hands
at
Bedford
Breast
Center.
I
hope
our
story
inspires
others
to
take
get
tested
if
you
have
a
history
of
breast
or
ovarian
cancer
in
your
family.
We
don't
know
our
results
yet,
but
no
matter
what,
we'll
be
okay.
It's
better
to
know
early
so
we
can
take
precautionary
measures,
if
necessary."
