What a fabulous place to go for date night! The food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing! The Scallops Bouchee was the perfect appetizer, and my husband loved his Salmon with Shrimp, Rice, and Mixed Vegetables while I enjoyed the Cheese Ravioli and Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables. I can't wait to go back and try something else!

Outstanding restaurant in downtown Wichita. It’s a landmark that stood the test of time. George the owner will take care of you. Food is outstanding. Great before theater or night on the town.

By far one of the best restaurants and most incredible hidden gems in Wichita. Lies in a very unassuming building downtown. A restaurant of incredible taste and amazing french cuisine. Has an upscale atmosphere and very personal wait staff. All the food we ate, from appetizer to dessert was some of the best I've had. It's a little expensive but definitely the best place to go if you've got a special occasion. The wine list is expansive, ending up trying the house Pinot which was the best house wine I've probably ever had. Steak and lamb were cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with their accompanied sauces. If you need a nice place for dinner this is it.

Cafe Bel Ami is an absolute Wichita icon! The care they put into your dining experience is felt the moment you walk through the door. The old world ambience fits naturally with the attentive service, and the food is never anything less than decadent. The curated beer and wine list is really well thought out. I especially enjoy the variety of wine splits they have available. Three cheers for the owner. Cafe Abel Ami is a gem, but he’s a crown jewel.

First time visit met with a couple that were regulars who made recommendations. We tried a little bit of everything. Appetizer, salad, soup, entrees and dessert. We were impressed. The braised lamb shank was amazing, I had the Bel Ami trio which was very good and a perfect portion. The bread pudding for dessert with the fruit compote was to die for.

If you're in downtown Wichita around lunchtime, get yourself to Cafe Bel Ami on William Street!! Matter of fact, even if you aren't downtown, go to Cafe Bel Ami anyway. This place kills it. Ambience is reserved, a little upscale - linen tablecloths and napkins, soft piano music. Taste is spectacular. Service is good. Prices are reasonable. Portions are generous. Chef is remarkable. Everything was prepared just right. Presentations were professional. Can't miss at Cafe Bel Ami. I'm a fan, and will be a regular. Photos of Seafood Pescatore, Beef Medallions and Hummus appetizer attached. Excellent! Highly recommended.

We were in Wichita for only one night and staying at the Ambassador Hotel just down the street. We chose Bel Ami because it had an interesting menu, good reviews and was easy walking distance from the hotel. One of the best meals we have had in a long time. We travel a lot and are not unfamiliar with nice restaurants. In my opinion Bel Ami could hold it's own in New York, Paris, London, Dallas, virtually anywhere. It has a very European feel. My wife had the Seafood Melange and I had the Bel Ami Trio. Both were outstanding. We had house wines and they were quite good. We booked earlier than we would have liked because they were full at our preferred time. So we took our time and never felt rushed. The service was excellent and the prices we thought were very reasonable. I would give it more than five stars if available. If we're ever in Wichita we will absolutely return.

My husband and I went here while we were in town on a conference. I was excited about going and loved the ambience of the restaurant, however, our dining experience wasn’t that wonderful. First, I’m not sure if I our waitress was having a bad day, or if they were just shorthanded, but she didn’t seem very friendly. We did receive the food we ordered, however, I had to ask for a refill on my Tea and had to ask her to bring us some bread. We each ordered a meal from the menu, and I don’t know if bread was served with it, we just saw others getting it and wanted to see if we could have some. I felt like I was bothering the waitress when I asked her for bread and tea, and thought I saw her roll her eyes when we made those requests, but I could be wrong about that. My husband ordered Shawarma and he did not care for the flavors of it very much, however, I tasted his and really liked it. I ordered a seafood pasta dish, but when I got it, I not only didn’t like the presentation of it, but I didn’t really like the taste of it. My husband offered to trade dishes with me, but I didn’t want him to have to eat it either, and we just didn’t find it very delectable to our pallet. The waitress did come at one point, and asked if we were enjoying our meals and my husband told her I didn’t like mine, but she made no offers or didn’t even say she was sorry about that. As I said, it was our first time there, and maybe this particular person was having a bad day, but it was our first time there, and our first experience with this restaurant.

This was our first time trying out Cafe Bel Ami. It was a Friday night and we didn’t have a reservation but it was just two of us and we were seated immediately. Unfortunately it did take a bit of time before our server made it to the table, but not completely to the point of being upsetting. With that said the service was great from that point on. No complaints. Appetizer: We had the Halloumi cheese to start. It was delicious as well as the spinach & tomatoes w/balsamic drizzle on top that came with it. One funny thing to note was when chewing it literally sounded like wet sneakers on a hard floor. lol Salad: My husband had the Viennese salad and I ended up sneaking some bites as well. It was one of the best salads I’ve had in a while. The dressing was so yummy! The cucumbers on it tasted really fresh as well. Dinner: I requested the A La Nabil Shrimp And Chicken Pasta but with the meat on a separate plate. 10/10 dish. The flavor of this meal was **chefs kiss**. Just the right amount of spice to enjoy but not be too overpowering. •My husband had the Lemon Herb Salmon. He as well loved his. Said his salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Drinks: We tried a couple of martinis and liked them. My favorite cocktail of the night was the Golden Cadillac tho. The Atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. We sat at a table to the left of the restaurant which was a small, but cute room. We will definitely be back.

I had the seafood mellage and it was excellent. Friends had the london broil. vegetables were also excellent. warm bread with butter. great attentive professional service. Entree was $19. I thought this was a good price for white tablecloth atmosphere. Walls were very pretty.

The staff were very attentive and kind. It's very fancy with lovely white tablecloths, beautiful decor, and classical music. The food was superb! I had the lunch special and it was seasoned perfectly. I got the custard dessert and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place.

I don't know why I waited so long to try this place out. The food was great and perfectly prepared. I had a blackened chicken sandwich and it was flavorful, juicy, and just the right size. The pasta salad was excellent and I appreciate the use of cavatappi pasta This place is beautiful inside as well and the service was top notch.

The restaurant is quiet and seems the perfect place for a mother's day brunch. I had grilled chicken with a lovely marinade and look forward to returning for steak. The creme custard was delightful and the servicewas polite.

Wonderful restaurant and great service. The menu was plentiful of selection. The venue is beautiful with its historic look and feel. The hummus plate was a nice appetizer. The meal was the trio of steak, shrimp and chicken. The steak was my favorite. Cooked perfectly to medium and very tender. The three sauces on all the various meat dishes were paired perfectly. The wine selection was great too. The cream custard dessert was delightful. I highly recommend this for a nice dinner.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a remarkable French-inspired Mediterranean restaurant that left an indelible mark on my taste buds and senses. This fine dining establishment has elevated the art of gastronomy to new heights, captivating diners with its exceptional cuisine and enchanting ambiance. The menu, a reflection of the chef's culinary mastery, featured a tantalizing array of French-inspired Mediterranean dishes. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, using the finest ingredients and expert techniques. The presentation was a feast for the eyes, as each plate was a work of art, meticulously arranged with precision and creativity. Beyond the exceptional food and service, the restaurant's atmosphere exuded an aura of refinement and elegance. Soft jazz melodies played in the background, enhancing the intimate and relaxed ambiance.

Honestly, wasn't impressed. The atmosphere is a bit dated. Food was OK. Wasn't bad, just wasn't great, but was hoping for more.

Me and my fellow coworkers ordered the Greek Angel hair pasta with grilled chicken for delivery. This meal is great we miss it as it used to be served at our cafeteria at work that was run by the Head cook of Cafe Bel Ami back in the past. We will definitely be ordering again in the future.

My husband and I went to Cafe Bel Ami for a special evening out. I cannot explain how wonderful our dining experience was. The atmosphere was elegant yet we felt comfortable. Our server was very personable and added to our experience. The food was wonderful. I had one of the best meals I have had in years! I highly recommend!

Cafe Bel Ami is one of the greatest restaurants in all of Wichita! The food is exquisite, the ambiance unique and cozy, and the best part of the experience is getting to chat with the owner, George! I am totally addicted to the Caesar salad. It tastes different from any other Caesar I've ever had and it's delicious!!! I always ask for an extra scoop of the tomato salsa (it's like Pico de Guillo) that they put on top. It's a little taste explosion!!!

Yum & fancy but I felt comfy in my sweatshirt! Great food & atmosphere in the wichita area and definitely NOT a chain experience. Avoid the chain trap & come here instead. Somewhat limited dinner menu but we'll worth it. I had a steak w veggies & Moscato & baklava & it was so lovely. Everyone seemed to enjoy all their meals. Can't go wrong. Only advice to the restaurant...if the wait staff smoozed me a little more I might have drunk more & eaten more=bigger tip. Definitely no pressure here. :)

Great food and even better service. We got the scallops for our appetizer, I got the 12oz special for my entrée and my husband got the 12oz KC Delmonico I believe is what its called. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the steaks were just the right temperature. The drinks we got were great as well. This is definitely a hidden gem downtown and we'll be back.

Pretty great food and service, but had a weird experience for a party on a night when we were the only patrons in the restaurant- oddly they crammed us all in close together and made it hard for us to be comfortable. Very good food and waiter all the same.

Food is always delicious and had great presentation! We love coming here as it's a delight to dinner where it's quiet enough to have conversations. Very safe with Covid. Only downside this time was we were there for lunch(usually do dinner) and new waitress has more training to learn. Hoping she'll follow the lead of other wait staff and learn quickly.
