A little conflicted on what to rate this place. Awesome fun atmosphere with a nice staff. The food, though, was about average. I got the most expensive thing on the menu, the filet, and it was cooked well but I thought a bit underseasoned. I'm not a critic by any means but I'm just saying it tasted rather bland and I needed some salt and wish it had some good seasoning. That being said, the cheese curds were amazing. How can you go wrong with fried cheese? And my friends seemed to enjoy their meals so that's why I'll give it 4 stars. I'll come back and try another entree sometime

Second time at the Public. Each time the food tasted delicious. This time our waiter went out of his way to make our whole experience fun. He asked what I wanted to drink and I was honest — a diet cherry limeade. He made me one! His version tasted great. So good I had two. I also ordered the special vegetables for my entrée — green beans, black beans, and roasted carrots. Again, yummy. All four of us enjoyed our food. Next time I will try their Barbecue as my son raved about his pulled pork sandwich. I had their signature burger the last time. The other thing that I like about the Public, is the hybrid of restaurant and bar. Very comfortable atmosphere to talk with family and friends — there were four of us for a family dinner. I recommend the Public — and will be returning soon for another great meal.

Wow, is it. Very Cush atmosphere when I walked in from the hostess greeting me to sitting up the bar to taking in all the wood interior and the friendly people everywhere and then there was the food. I had the Korean fried chicken (1/2 is the portion) cut into manageable pieces and I thought I would eat a couple pieces but ate the entire portion. The crunch of the breading was spot on. The flavor of the Korean inspired sauce was finger licking good. Came with a small cup of house pickles...lite dill brine with a slight heat...very tasty.

Loved public! We went before a show at the orpheum and everything was delicious. We started with sliders and bison chili. Then we had the brisket tacos and then had a sweet dessert brought over by the manager (maybe owner). The drinks were great too!

The restaurant was clean and has a nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly and courteous. The cornbread appetizer was… different. It was not bad but don’t expect a normal cornbread flavor. This cornbread is dense and savory (my gf says it reminds her of meatloaf). It is not something I would order again. For the entree we ordered the seasonal smash burger with a side of potato salad and a side of rosemary and garlic fries. The burger had a beef burger patty with date jam, bacon, goat cheese and arugula. The flavor combination was fantastic and I would totally order it again and recommend it to others. My only complaint would be it was too well done. The waitress told me after the fact that I could have ordered medium rare so I’ll have to remember that the next time. My gf and I both enjoyed the potato salad, a little bit of salt wouldn’t hurt. We were both unimpressed with the garlic rosemary fries, they were bland and didn’t really taste of garlic or rosemary. Left the restaurant feeling satisfied and would eat there again and recommend to others.

Had the Bison sliders and potato salad. They were both excellent. Washed it down with a public smash cocktail which in itself was an event of flavors sweet at first and ends with a touch of spice.

We came here having heard the food is now amazing and it totally is!!! The burgers were not just basic and seemed to have a slight kick to them; the fries were crispy and nothing at all like fast food fries (I think garlic and rosemary?); and the potato salad was unique in a good way. The beer was one they made in collaboration with local breweries in honor of International Women's Brewing Day and it was perfect with the burger. It was so nice sitting outside. Service was spot on, too. Can't wait to go again for dinner!

I have to be honest that coming from New Orleans; I wasn't expecting much from Wichita, KS... but I was proven wrong really quickly when I visited Public! They're a Farm-To-Table spot that's known for their pizzas but also their specials. The service was spot on, attentive and helpful with suggestions. He had recommended me the pasta special of the day which featured a pesto that was just so good that I finished it wayyyy too quick. So let's go look at the photos.... Of note, I also had their orange creme brûlée! Definitely a spot to check out in Old Town Wichita @phidingthefam

Their gluten free pizza was not only the best gluten free pizza I've ever had, it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. I really wish they had one in OKC as I would frequent them if at all possible. Loved it! Thank you to a great start to our vacation! Oh and the service was amazing.

A basement restaurant with plenty of seating, an extensive drinks menu and a vegetarian friendly food menu. Courteous, friendly, helpful staff (shout-out to Jenny). They also have a large patio area with special events on stage at times. A walk in the surrounding area with old brick buildings is an absolute must!

My wife and I stopped by for an early dinner. This place was amazing! The atmosphere was great, all of the employees were over the top great! Couldn’t have asked for a better waitress. I wish I remembered her name! We ordered the Curds as a starter. They were probably the best I’ve ever had. For the entree we both ordered the Tomahawk Pork chop and it was excellent as well. We were both happy we stopped by! I highly recommend this place!!!

We came up for Bert kreischer walked down so it's close to the arena. Had one of the most amazing hamburgers I've had in a long time. Everything was from scratch. I'm talking ketchup the bun. The burger had to be ground in house. It was amazing! I recommend 100%

Service was friendly and prompt. We just wanted to have a quick lunch, and we were in and out in 40 minutes. The food could have been better. I had the mushroom bao and my fiancé had the pork belly bao. I thought mine was far too salty and the flavor was overwhelming in a bad way. We ordered their fries and they were very limp, room temp, and over seasoned. I know they have rosemary and thyme, but you couldn’t even taste potato. I think they had been sitting out for a while before they were served to us.

The atmosphere is nice but the food leaves a lot to be desired. We had different versions of the pizza but you can tell the crust comes straight from a freezer. The ratio of dough to toppings is about 90/10 which is just too much. The pizza we struggled with the most was the Bassano, the pesto was literally flavorless. Most of our table didn’t eat more than half of their pizza, I personally scrapped the toppings off and ate them by itself. On the positive side, the spicy cauliflower appetizer was decent. I hate to say it but I can’t recommend this restaurant to others…

The overall experience was good, the staff were great, they were attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is classy without being pretentious, very well done. I had the cornbread which was amazing, and enjoyed the almost guacamole potato salad. My one complaint was simply the bun on my burger was fresh but very very dry. I ended up just eating the burger without the bun. Probably a fluke, will be back, do reccomend

Decided to venture out, and try a new restaurant, and don't regret it at all! It was so amazing! I love the general vibe of the restaurant, and the food is amazing and unique! The server was very nice as well. Definitely somewhere I'll go again!

Overall a very good, not great, first experience. We had a party of 13 and we called ahead for a table. Everything was great (service, atmosphere, friendliness) up until they essentially forgot to put two people's order in (me being one of them) and I had to wait an extra 10ish minutes to get my dish while everyone else was politely waiting to eat. The server apologized a few times, was super friendly, and promised us two free dessert for the oversight. But we never got the dessert......? The cheese curds and brussel sprouts were very good, and my pasta dish was amazing. And everyone else seemed to really like their entrées.

Pizza and Brussels sprouts were mediocre at best. Really thick and frozen dough and strange minimal toppings on the Margherita pizza. Staff were really friendly and restaurant itself was well decorated and cool atmosphere

Super cute place to eat! I didn't even know this place was here or that big since it's mostly underground. Food and drink was delicious. I got the hot C is Cookie drink. Yum! I will be back.

Had a great Sunday brunch with some friends. It's unlike anything else in Wichita. They had a big table to accommodate our 7+ party, and delicious drinks and food for brunch. We each got something different off the menu, and it all looked tasty! Service was amazing and attentive. The receipts were given in a used book that guests had previously signed or noted, so that was a unique thing to see and add to while ending the meal.

Good ambience. The setup was unique, it offers Patio seating under the blue sky and trees. For ppl preferring cozy times there is indoor seating as well. Range of beer options to select from, however limited vegetarian options which is the case for most of restaurants in ICT.
