Absolutely BONKERS delicious. George's is the best fine dining restaurant in Wichita. Oysters with mignonette were a fantastic starter and are included on the happy hour menu, so we were able to just grab four to sample, rather than a full half dozen. The cocktails are wonderful - my first had lemon infused vodka, apricot liqueur, rosemary simple, and lemon juice. It was dangerously good. I can't say that very many salads in my life have ever excited me, but when I say that the beet salad was the BEST salad I have ever eaten, I mean it. It was incredible. I was torn between the filet and the rainbow trout and ended up getting the filet with demi glace. It was cooked perfectly and the demi glace was very complex and interesting. Even the haricot verts, which usually just provide color on a plate, were incredible: garlicky, a little salty, with I think some leeks in the sauce. Potatoes? Divine. Husband had the barramundi with seafood risotto and we both just about died over the risotto. He mentioned more than once that he could easily make a meal of the risotto alone (though the sea bass was also great). Next time I'll try the trout - very excited to return for that. Service was just perfect - our server was friendly and attentive and offered pointers when we were torn between several different choices. As we were celebrating my birthday, they treated us to house-made ice cream with a flaming sparkler alongside the desserts we ordered. At points in the meal, several managers (?) stopped by to check that everything was good, and at the end of our meal, the chef came to our table and happily discussed our meal with us! He even helped us decipher the flavors we were picking up in the demi glace. He was incredibly sweet and personable!! We are already dying to go back because this is truly one of the best meals we've had - not just in Wichita, but in the world. We honeymooned in Paris, so French food has a special spot in our hearts. This place is a true gem.

This was our first time at Georges, we were celebrating an anniversary Caroline was our server she was very knowledgeable about the menu and made sure our needs were met she is awesome! Ben the general manager was also awesome he meant to treat us to desert but got side tracked which is understandable due to busy with multiple other things going on at busy establishment and forgot but on our drive home he called and apologized which I thought showed great Character and told us he would make it right the next time we dine at Georges. We definitely will be back soon thanks for making our dining experience a great one. 👍

The first time for three of the five of us to eat Georges. It is the rare place where the food and dining experience make it well worth the cost. We had drinks, appetizer, main entrees and dessert and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Our server, Tanner, was wonderful! He answered all of our questions, made excellent recommendations, and was readily available without hovering. Looking forward to dining at Georges again in the near future.

Every detail was perfect. Thank you for making our daughter and future son in laws night. He proposed there at the restaurant and they assisted in the planning to totally surprise her. Service, food, and professionalism was spectacular. It will be a forever memory. Could not have asked for a more perfect place.

I ate here about 4 or 5 months ago and the food was absolutely amazing!! It is a bit pricey but well worth it!! Very upscale and yet still casual. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The service was excellent!! One of the best places I have eaten and I would highly recommend it if you're in the area or just want some yummy food with friends and family or it's a great date night spot!!.

Okay, we will come back here for sure. Now it will be somewhat on the expensive side, but once you see and taste the food, you will know it is worth every cent spent. Took my wife here and we both tried two different fish entrees. The fish was moist and flacky, as well as bursting with flavor. Whoever chooses the sides to go with each meal has extraordinary taste. I'm willing to bet you could pick anything on the menu and you wouldn't be disappointed. We skipped the appetizers so we could try dessert and they were also delicious! The staff were all kind and helpful. The waitress was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. They also have a nice drink menu. We enjoyed for really good wines. There's a few beers as well. I may try a dessert drink next time. They all sounded pretty good.

Nice location for quality french food. Service is always excellent even when they have a full house. Definitely worth a return visit. Prices are fair. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I loved.

Some ample sized starters that could serve as your whole meal and beautiful, rich desserts. Decent cocktails (get the one with the rosemary) and a good wine list. The mussels are a must! The duck a l'orange was pretty good as well as the bouillabaisse. The grouper was excellent, but the steak was just ok. Atmosphere is pleasant with seating outside, but it's important to make a reservation as it's a popular dining spot.

Would have been a 5 star experience but of course of all the couples enjoying thier Valentines Day night out , they loose our ticket in the back and we sit for an hour waiting for our meal . Now, granted it was great when the entree arrived everything was fabulous! We understand the circumstances but, what else would you write if it was you ? No hard feelings .....

Extremely beautiful restaurant but the tables are really close so that's unfortunate.I got the baguette which was good and came out warm. I also get the bass which was good. The skin was crispy and tasty but the risotto was the star. The risotto was perfect and buttery. I had the In Love in Paris cocktail which was ok. The cherry in the bottom of the glass was yummy. For desert I had creme brulee which was very VERY yummy. The sugar shell was so tasty with the light and sweet cream. The sauce sauce on the plate was divine. Desert was definitely my favorite part.

Georges French Bistro was good food and good service. It was busy for a Wednesday night, and with the hard marble floors and lots of windows, all of the conversations seemed to echo. Aside from the noise, the rest was good. Our newest favorite appetizer (when available) is mussels, and theirs are quite good. I wasn't terribly hungry, so I decided to just order the seafood crepes, and hubby chose the scallops. He *was* hungry, so although the 4 scallops and fingerling potatoes were probably plenty, he was still not satisfied. I shared my crepes, and we were both happy. He finished his meal with a chocolate martini, which he was pleased with.

We had a birthday celebration. Everyone loved their selections. The oysters were incredibly fresh and the desserts were decadent. My mom enjoyed the fire sparkler they brought when her birthday dessert arrived. It was a wonderful place to celebrate any special event but also was comfortable to enjoy on any occasion.

This is our go-to Bougie place. The rotating seasonal drink menu has never let us down. Absolutely love the art deco vibe and the food is always phenomenal. Great place to go if you're looking to treat someone special or if you're just looking to sit at the bar and enjoy some apps and desserts!

We eat at George’s several times a month. The service and food are always exceptional and professional. Abby, Hauze, Amanda and all others are very accommodating. Unfortunately some customers treat servers as people beneath them. It’s a shame. They are trying to make a living like everyone else. And probably work harder than any of us. George’s is an excellent restaurant with above average servers. Keep it up. Hooray for all of you.

This is the best restaurant in Wichita. Don't go to that other place. Go here. The lunch menu is cheaper go for brunch and get mimosas. The atmosphere is classy but welcoming. The flavors are IN SANE. Prepare to be blown away. Order anything. Order everything. Get the parisian potatoes they are the best potatoes on the planet.

It was to be a wonderful place for dinner...however, my husband booked the reservation and I was impressed. This is not his usual fair. He doesn't get it or understand this cuisine. So, my experience was not as wonderful as it should have been. Wanting my husband to maintain confidence I stayed out of explaining the dishes...allowing the waiter to do his job...but he was uninterested in taking the time to explain what a few dishes were. Therefore, after about 10 minutes for my husband to google the dishes and him to decide we were ready...our waiter proceeded to ignore us though and put in three tables orders ( seated after us) before coming back to us...when we were clearly ready to order..then he ignored us most of the evening. Even then, We were not to impressed with the food quality and the $18 2oz. of cheese, 3oz.salami and bruised grapes with stems, asparagus and sliver apples- sampler came out with a small hair on it...which he (Jake the waiter) quickly removed when I stated, "oh my"! Not taking it away...we just ate around where the hair was... For dinner I had the Brie and crackers because they were not serving a full menu that evening. The menu stated it was warm or hot...and it was cool enough you had to cut with a knife. I called him over and asked to heat it up..he said he would have to microwave it. Stunned, I said, whatever you have to do to make it right it! All in all, I will give George's another try...my friends enjoy the cuisine and I'm sure it was just a bad night for us.

Incredible food and service. I had the escargot, mac and cheese, steak fritts, and nutella crepe. Everything was amazing and very well made with great attention to detail. They even brought in a cake and sparkler for my wifes birthday.

The menu has a variety of French inspired dishes. Although it is in a strip mall, the interior and exterior have a bistro feel to it. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The pace of the meal was smooth. I ordered the duck and I was able to substitute the side, which was appreciated. The only minor disappointment was the French onion soup. It lacked flavor and had minimal onions in it. There's ample parking at the location. The salmon had hash browns grilled to the top of it, which was memorable. The sauce was flavorful. They also have a variety of desserts on the menu. I would return to the location and recommend it to others.

This place has the worst management to come out and criticize the customers for wanting to pay the bill! Horrible customer service! The server was treated very well and no profanity language used or no disrespect whatsoever. He was tiped more than 20%. We did ask him over and over to pay for the birthday girl dinner. It's good to stand up for your employees but it's not normal to make up stories that a table of 10 people are getting shocked to hear!

Had the worst experince from their so called manager Abbie. Instead of finding out what transpired at our table with all our friends wanting to pay for our friend's birthday dinner. She came out and insulted and lied to us infront of other tables. Her actions not only was completely unprofessional but made me a customer that wouldn't ever return back as long as such behavior from the higher management is tolerated. After spending over $600 and celebrating a special occasion, for Abbie to come out and accuse us of "scaring" our server who had taken care of us on previous occasions completely destroyed our celebratory mood. She accused us of using derogatory language towards the server and that he was so upset he left the restaurant. Which we found out was false as the other servers confirmed he was still there plus we saw him. And coming from a past service/restaurant industry experience we wouldn't ever insult anyone let alone a server who took really good care of us last night plus the previous times, and I am sure our gratuity reflected that. We have NEVER been treated in such a humiliating and condensing manner for trying to pay for a friend's dinner. Coming from a classy restaurant such yours, Abbie's managerial skills didn't even come close to the word classy. Her lies reflected her personality and I will not hold that against your restaurant. To me it felt more of a personalized attack as she never took the time to understand why we all wanted to take care of our friend's tab. And our actions didnt affect anyone around us. And for her to bluntly lie and say we insulted the server and he left the building shows her moral judgment as a human being. She surely is not a fit for the reputation you have built not only with you exceptional food but the service. Her action alone have left a bitter feeling within our group. She ruined our friend's birthday celebration to say the least! People come to a place not only for the food and service but for the hospitality and Abbie single handedly managed to ruin it. Shocked to see a manager act in such a manner and be dishonest when she is supposed to be leader and role model for the staff around her. The 1 star is a reflection on Abbie's behavior not the food or the service we received from our server. Thanks for your reply. It is disheartening to see that such allegations were made as we never used profanity towards anyone and nor did we grab the server. If you have any security cameras please feel free to review them. This is not only an insult but an accusation to say the least!

The service, atmosphere, and food (in that order) were memorable and positive. I was surprised by all the vegetarian options, and my strawberry-something salad was really good, especially with the dressing that came with it. It is in one of the photographs, and mine was the large option. The other photo is of crepes, which a colleague ordered. They have sparkler-type of things they can bring to a table and light for special events( e.g., anniversaries, birthdays...); They are somewhere between a regular Fourth of July sparkler, amd a miniature Roman candle without the shooting balls, of course; they are really cool!

NOT worth the price! This was our first (and last)French restaurant. I didn't know how to order. No poly Franchise. so I hated my food and waiter didn't ask, my wife ordered her stake well it was 2 dry. The waiter suggested Medium well but only after she ate it! My garlic bread was dried out too. The atmosphere was romantic which we liked. It was $77 plus tip 2 eat there so over $80. We won't be back!

I had these 6 oz filet, which was plenty for keeping it simple with the green beans and risotto, which were awesome with the steak and came with a red wine peppercorn reduction, which was really tasty. 10\25 had the duck l'orange, a friend ordered the truffle fries and we shared dessert. All were tasty.

The atmosphere is really great and has that turn of the century charm to it. Although we know the French use butter to cook, here they used it way too much. Creme Brulee was particularly good.

Very high class dining atmosphere. Steak frites appetizer was heavy and could have been an entire meal, but was wonderful to share. Chicken breast entree with the ber blanc sauce and capers was super yummy. Cocktails and service at the bar was great too! I wouldrecommend, but plan to spend some $$.

Excellent food and service. I had the short ribs which was the special for the day. It was probably one of the best meals I've had. The sauce was beyond amazing. The drinks are great, and they usually are at a place like this. I definitely recommend that everyone should try George's at least once.

The Wife and I went out for a date night after a stressful week. First time coming to Georges and have to say that the experience was Amazing. We had a Charcuterie board for the first time and it was great. I had the Grand-Mere Chicken and it was fantastic, tender and juicy, the flavors were spot in that sauce but especially on those potatoes. The Wife had the Duck A L'orange and we both agreed that was the best dish. The duck was amazing, that orange sauce is amazing, the puree was fantastic and the bean and sausage side was delicious, it was an overall great dish. The desserts were amazing and well worth it. I have to give great credit to the restaurant because my Wife never finishes meals when we go out, she always takes some home with us but here she said that she had to finish all of her food because it was so good. Finally, our server was Kennedy and he was amazing at what he does. Had recommendations on what to eat for every course always stopped by to check on us and refill drinks or clear off dirty dishes. The man is definitely a credit to himself and the restaurant. Between the food and the service, we will definitely be coming back.

My recent visit to George's French Bistro in Wichita, Kansas, was a true delight. The service, while exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, was notably slower than expected. This provided more time for conversation but may not suit those with tight schedules. The drink selection was impressive, catering to both wine enthusiasts and cocktail lovers. The open-air indoor dining area created a warm and inviting atmosphere. With tasteful décor and soft lighting, it provided the perfect backdrop for the occasion. Dessert was a highlight, with the Opera cake and crepes stealing the show. In summary, George's French Bistro is a culinary gem in Wichita. Despite a minor steak misstep and leisurely service, the exceptional food, extensive drink selection, and inviting atmosphere more than made up for it. The dessert options were a sweet conclusion to an otherwise stellar meal.

Our server was amazing and on top of our needs. We got the charcuterie board for our app, and it was just enough to leave us wanting more. Our food, duck and steak, was cooked perfectly, and the creme brule was the tastiest finish to a delicious meal.

Went for my birthday and had Duck for only second time in my life. I loved it which is saying something since I didn't care for my first duck experience. The berry pavlova was insanely good. I am definitely going back for more in the near future.the whole atmosphere is cute/quaint and reminded me a lot of being in Europe. If you like French cuisine I think you'll enjoy George's.

Lovely surprise in a Wichita Strip mall. We dined at George’s last weekend to for a celebration with my daughter. The menu selections interesting and delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. There was a touch of French Canadian cuisine (Poutine) that we didn’t expect to find in Kansas. I ordered the schnitzel and it was great. I’m not a public health expert, but you could see the establishment had taken steps to allow social distancing in the seating. These steps evaporated at the bar though, with every seat full and people sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers. One more thing: if you’re watching your sodium intake, don’t get the truffle fries. I found them inedible salty and can only guess they contained 3,000-5000 mg of sodium in that side alone.

My daughter, daughter in law and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner on Halloween evening. Our server was efficient helpful and "just right" with his attention. The house cocktail, the Black Widow, was not a fan favorite, but the chocolate martini was. We split a beet salad and one other. Two of us loved the bouillabaisse .

Decided to pull off the Interstate and get a bite to eat in downtown Wichita when I came upon a miles-long traffic jam, on my way back to Denver from Tulsa. BBQ place I intended to visit was closed, so I did a Google Maps search for alternatives. Happened upon George's, decided to give it a try, despite being farther than desirable from interstate. WELL worth the trip. Elegant room with a Parisian feel. Though I was dressed for the road and not an evening out, they welcomed me congenially. I have spent a lot of time in France, and have never had better "Steak Frites" there than at George's. Excellent beef, quite flavorful and tender for the cut, perfectly "a point" (medium rare). Their version of the sauce served by the popular "Relais d'Entrecote" chain in Paris is much better. Bordeaux by the glass I paired with the steak was excellent. Nice young kid who served me needs training, but service was fine.
