Taqueria El Fogon

Restaurant Mexican restaurant

👍👍 I had some friends take me here. I really cannot stress enough how great this place is. It is a little hole in the wall restaurant, but the food is absolutely wonderful. Very traditional and flavorful. Everything I had was exceptionally delicious. They have good tacos al pastor. People often mention tacos, pastor, good, taco, time, delicious,

The best taco place in Wichita, I love their Al pastor tacos! Solid salsas too and a good selection of other dishes.

Very, very tasty! Salsas are just the right amount of spicy. Fresh, large portions, reasonably priced located in a very modest establishment. For about 8 bucks, we got the Grande carnitas taco. It was probably 5 tacos worth of filling. This was our first time trying this place but we will return. Cash only so stop by the ATM.

I’ve been to a few taco places after moving here.. I’m so glad to find this place as it’s definitely top 3! Don’t judge the food off the building and lot.. The tacos are delicious and the service has always been great. CASH ONLY. Always get the Pastor! The Pollo, Asada, and Barbacoa are🔥 too!

This is the place to get the best El Pastor tacos in town!!! Of course everything else on the menu is pretty good and very authentic. Be sure to take a hand full of cash tho. As they do not accept any sort of digital pay...

The only meat I've liked from this place was the al pastor as the rest were dry, hard, or have no flavor like the tripe. I'd rather have the gorditas since the taco shells were dry and gritty. I do like how they give you a full plate of fresh vegetables on the side to eat with your meal. The best part of coming was the melon aqua fresca. The place is very dirty and rundown which I doubt the staff will fix anytime soon. The employees and service were mediocre. They also only take cash.

They take CASH only! I’m not a connoisseur of Mexican food by any means but I really enjoyed the asada tacos here. Can’t really beat the price! The food is served on paper plates with plastic utensils.

Great prices, great flavor. I get the pastor gordita which is a little corn meal based pocket of goodness of shaved pork lettuce tomato crumbly cheese that i top with the green sauce. And 1 pastor taco. If you eat in seat yourself and its cash only. Door is on side of bldg. Adjacent to parking. They give u sliced cucumber and radish as appetizer. Sprinkle it with lime wedge and salt. You can walk in and order carryout too.

CASH ONLY Business: First time visiting here. Had 3 carnitas tacos and 2 barbacoa tacos 🌮 and a side of beans. Tacos were awesome and they have a good variety on the menu. Definitely returning.

Called ahead of time 3 tacos with everything, only 1 Small slice of lime, NO Roasted Chilies 3 slices of radish 2 cucumber slices, very little cilantro and onions heavy on the salt. 1 small lime for 3 tacos NOT enough. The hottest salsa is mild if there's any chili in it. More ice than drink that's normal everywhere. Next time will have to cut time from lunch to make sure there's limes and roasted Chilies and more cilantro and onions I will pay extra if have to. But tacos were hot and ready so that was good.

Very busy place. Their style of food is a little different. Don't expect chips and they don't always have chicken available. The sope was good. The tacos are more street style with the onion and cilantro which were also good.

No the greatest place aesthetically. But we love the tacos. The El Pastore is the best I’ve ever had.

I was traveling to Nebraska and stopped in Wichita for a quick bite. I was craving Mexican so looked up places nearby. This place had the best reviews so decided to check it out. Not gonna lie, first impression was that it looked kinda sketchy but I was hungry so decided to give it a try. Best choice I made! The tacos, tortas, salsas and jugos (Mexican juice) were AMAZING! Service was great too. I'll definitely visit again next time I pass through :)

100%. Go there. Amazing. Absolutely incredible food at a totally reasonable / low price. My husband and I got the pastor tacos and the Alambre with pastor.

Cash only. Kind of hidden from the street. Old Orange Building looks rough on the outside. I tried the gorditas and the tacos. The pastor were really good, very flavorful. The Barbacoa was okay, not much flavor. The gorditas were small but very filling, they come with meat lettuce cheese and tomatoes and refried beans inside. The servers were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant looks very clean inside.

Food was delicious, authentic, and made fresh. Tableside service was offered with a veggie plate to start the meal. Hands down best Gordita from a restaurant. Fed myself for $3!

This is and always will be my favorite taco spot! The one out north tends to taste a little better but they are both amazing... the pastor tacos are my fav or the Gorditas

Great Al Pastor anything and the beans are so good, unique to any place I've had them and very made from scratch. Most authentic Mexican I've had in Wichita.

Don't let its appearance fool you. Food is delicious. The pastor is unique and a little different flavor than other places in town and it is quite good. Tried it in the gorditas and they were some of the best I've had. I tried the barbacoa in a torta and it was flavorful. Torta was good but if I had a critique it would be that it didn't have a lot of layers of fresh vegetables and was pretty dense but that said I would order it again. Staff was very friendly. BEWARE they only accept CASH. They are right beside a bank with a drive thru ATM however so no worries if you get there without any cash.

Just got done eating and for my first visit I wanted to try the Carne asada tacos, and tacos al pastor. If you're looking for tasty, authentic and fresh tasting tacos than Taqueria El Fogon is you're one stop shop for that. I don't say this lightly, but the tacos were easily in the top 2 or 3 I've ever had. The flavors are there, and they don't break your wallet. A real gem.

Love the al pastor tacos. Each bite is scrumptious & rich burst of flavors in the mouth. Been across bunch of upscale & hole in the wall restaurants in the US nothing beats tacos from El Fogon. There's a reason they have 1K+ reviews & 4.5 star ratings. First time I visited this place was when I was a sophomore in college (2017) and had my first taco here..lol. Been in love ever since. My first 5 star review restaurant. Make sure you have enough cash to buy seconds & for tip. Make sure to savor each bite of the taco! Visited: 2/10/2022

The beans were like soup & the rice was good either. The staff was fairly nice, but the meal was pretty pricey & the barely came to check on me during the meal. In fact I had'ta go get my second drink myself from a cooler. I wasn't pleased & absolutely do not intend on re-visiting this particular restaurant ever again....
