This place is a hidden treasure! You have to book the guided tour in advance, but it’s definitely worth it. You will discover different significance of the architect but also a history of Wichita and college hill neighborhood. Unfortunately it is not allowed to take pictures inside, but that is why you need to go!

Worth the visit! This is one of our favorites Frank Lloyd Wright homes to visit. Guide was detailed with her information and friendly. No interior pictures allowed, but I find it easier to appreciate the tour that way.

I took 3- hour, in-depth tour, because it's the one where photography of the house is allowed. Ordered tickets online, day in advance. Everyone was very knowledgeable and courteous. Docent Lisa who was our guide, did a fantastic job of describing the Allen house and its history. "Thank you!" to all the wonderful people who have restored this house to immaculate condition! Gift shop has a lot of items for purchase

I've been to this house twice. Our guides knew so much about the house, Mr. Wright, and the furnishings he designed. The architecture and design are amazing, especially when you consider this house was built in 1918. I've always done the 2-hour tour which were very thorough. I don't know what more they could've said or added with a third hour. The tours on the weekend fill up pretty quickly, so book early. On our last visit, we almost didn't get in when we went to book on Tuesday for a Saturday tour. If your group is large enough, they will add an extra tour and your price drops a little. Heads up on kids. Those under 12-years are not admitted. No photos allowed indoors, but outdoors are fine.

My girlfriend and I recently had the privilege of touring this astounding home with David as our guide. We were fortunate to be the only ones touring at the time. David’s expansive knowledge of the home and the history of Frank Lloyd Wright made it such an enjoyable and educational experience. Thank you David and all of the volunteers that have made this architectural masterpiece accessible to the public.

Beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. Unfortunately the Allen House is closed on Mondays but we could still appreciate the beautiful architecture from the outside. Exceeded all my expectations.

Wonderful example of Prairie Style architecture by the great Frank Lloyd Wright. The Moonlight Tour was brilliant. Highly recommend taking a tour of the interior of the house. But even just viewing the exterior, and you appreciate how unique and special this house is to Wichita and Kansas.

We did a 1 pm tour with Mimi as our docent. It was over 100 degrees outside so the a/c in the gift shop where we gathered was nice. Promptly at 1 pm Mimi took us outside under a tree and explained 15 minutes of our 90 minute tour would be outside. Thirty minutes (and a lot of sweat) later, we headed into the home. Mimi had lots of factoids about the home. Having been to many of the FLW buildings, some of the facts we were familiar with, and others were new info. The house has been renovated beautifully and being able to go to both floors was wonderful. I would recommend not keeping people outside for extended periods of time when it is very hot. But otherwise, wonderful!

The tour was incredible! The garden had just been replanted, and our tour guide Randy was clearly knowledgeable and very passionate about the house and other projects of Frank Lloyd Wright. I highly recommend the grand tour, three hours flew right by.

Am iconic architecture site to see! Straight clean lines abound in this Wright home both inside and out. Take a peek over the small brick wall to see the patio and pool.

The Frank Lloyd Wright Allen House was a fantastic experiance to see the birth of modern design sytles. Even over 100 years later your can still feel the genius designs flowing though the space. If u are in town, I would highly recomend, as a way to see what a house should always strive to be.

The Allen House by Frank Lloyd Wright was completed in 1918 and is a beautiful gem that must be seen to appreciate. We got the three hour tour and were glad we did! The house is amazing and is a house that would be comfortable living in today. The guide was very knowledgeable and had a love and enthusiasm for the house that showed in her talks. It is a must see here in Wichita!

Beautifully restored home planned and build by Wright. We took the 1.5 hour tour and could have even spent more time. Our guide Burt was excellent. No photos inside the house on the shorter tour.

Attended the Holiday Open House 2022 here, and wow it was so fun! Hot cocoa, spiked punch, and sweet & salty treats were provided for this event, along with a group singing Christmas tunes! It was fun to go on a self-guided tour so you could really take in the design, architecture, and decor at your own pace. It’s really such an honor that we have a Frank Lloyd Wright commissioned home right here in Wichita-and that there is so much rich history preserved there. If you have an appreciation for architecture and design-then you must check out the Allen House!

Nice example of a FLR. FYI buy tickets in advance, tours sell out and your not allowed to self-guide. The gift shop staff are great and lots of fun things to choose from. We did have to wait about 30 minutes for the tour started (11:30 started about 12), docent arrived late, otherwise nice place to visit.

This 90-minute tour was extremely educational. Our tour guide, Mimi, shared quite a lot of information about Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as the Allen family who lived in the house for 30 years. Mr. Wright was the architect for the house as well as the furniture, and the gardens, or outdoor living area. Tickets need to be purchased online ahead of time to guarantee a place in a tour. The help at the gift store was very friendly, and the tour guide very patient with all of our questions. Be aware that a lot of the furniture is original and has been restored. Because of its pristine condition, the tourists are not allowed to sit on any of it. There is a plastic folding chair if you need to sit down. Also, the house is two stories, which means a climb of a flight of about 15 stairs. Each tour group is small, to accommodate the smaller rooms in the house. This tour was a first for us. Because it was so enjoyable, we now have a desire to find more Frank Lloyd Wright homes and buildings that are open for tours. We are looking forward to learning more about this great architects ideas!

I did not see the interior because I arrived too late to town. However my home town has a couple Frank Lloyd Wright houses in my neighborhood. I try to get around and see as many as I can. I find his architecture fascinating. I found this one very interesting as well. I really like the garage in the back along with the overhangs.

Spent $22 a ticket. Price is very high for what you get but my wife enjoyed it. Had to buy online to reserve the tour. You have to be guided. 90 min tour of house and grounds. Interesting info on the owner and builder. Gift shop has high prices and an artsy feel. Free parking. Cannot take pics inside. Air-conditioned inside.

Wright's Allen house is an excellent example of the prairie house architecture, in fact it was the last one designed this way.

I enjoyed touring this house more than I expected. I liked our tour guide, Jan, as she kept things interesting. It is definitely worth the visit. We didn’t do the garden house part of the tour but I didn’t feel like I missed too much. We had our 14 year old with us and not sure she would have enjoyed the longer tour.
