My partner and I visited the Tanganyika Wildlife Park for the very first time this past Sunday, July 3rd. We expected it to be really busy, but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at 10:30 AM to find that wait times were very minimal. I believe the longest we waited for anything was about 5-10 minutes. The park is small, and I think that adds to the fun. I'm used to visiting the Kansas City Zoo and it's just too big and too spread out to visit all of the animals in one day. A smaller wildlife park or zoo, I think, is much more enjoyable because you get to spend time enjoying each exhibit -- which is amazing when you get to interact with some of the animals! All of the animals appeared very well cared for and content, which is always wonderful to see in these environments. Too many parks/zoos appear to have animals in, well, not the best conditions, but I did not get any sense of that on our visit this past weekend. Obviously, we all want to see animals thriving in the wild, but parks can play a vital role in the preservation, protection, and much needed education for humans. And, in that regard, I consider the Tanganyika Wildlife Park to be doing an amazing job! We will be visiting again and recommend you visit, too!

It was an amazing experience. Getting up close with the animals was very enjoyable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My girlfriend and I will definitely be going back several times throughout the season. With the season pass you get a lot of things included that normally you'd have to pay extra for.

WOW! What an unforgettable experience! My family and I came in from Kansas City to visit and it was incredible. We were there from open until close. The splash park is a wonderful addition so be sure to bring your swimsuits, sunscreen, and towels. Such a great way to cool off on a hot day. We loved the unlimited feedings option. My kids could not get enough of it! We can't wait to come back again!!

This was our first visit to the park. We had a wonderful time. The only thing that could have improved our experience was the weather not being so hot! Every interactive animal exhibit we visited was precious. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We did the Giraffe and Friends experience with our guide, Carrie, and it was a fun experience. If you love Giraffes this is one experience you want to do. This will be the first of many visits to this park.

I have had several people recommend visiting and I am so glad we did! There are so many opportunities for animal encounters. I am impressed with how clean the area is and how healthy and animals look. Employees stressed not bothering animals who were away/under cover and to leave them alone if they got up and walked away. I didn't notice any stress behaviors during our visit and we even saw more animals playing that we usually do at zoos. It is fairly expensive to visit so we won't come as often as we would other similar spaces but we will definitely come back again sometime. Do buy tickets online though as they are cheaper than they are at the window. We got the passes with unlimited feedings and had a great time with them.

One of a kind experience highly recommend visiting at least once! Amazing place to make memories that will last a lifetime. Got up close and personal with giraffes, tortoises, lemurs, kangaroos, rhinos, camels and hippos just to name a few! Had the best time seeing my kids so excited 😁 thank you so much for having a special price so people with a large family could afford to enjoy the park!

Tanganyika zoo is a delightful escape filled with fun moments! From the playful splashes in the penguin pool to the charming antics of the otters, every experience feels like a special treat. The opportunity to engage with a sloth is an unexpected and wonderful surprise. The dedication to animal well-being is evident, and the staff? Top-notch and super friendly. A perfect blend of entertainment and education. Highly recommended for a joyous day out!

We had our wedding on 10.31.2023 and it was everything we wanted and more! Ashlee did an amazing job making sure we had everything we needed, plus a bit extra due to unforeseen weather issues. Highly recommend having a wedding on the wild side ❤️🖤

Wonderful experience. Cloudy weather kept the crowds at bay for most of our visit. Habitats are humane and engaging for animals. Zookeepers and workers are friendly, informative, eager to assist, and seem to truly enjoy their jobs and care for the animals. We enjoy being season ticket holders which affords frequent trips to interact with the animals and enjoy the park. We will definitely return regularly.

This is a wonderful little zoo! It's a great place to walk around to get your steps in while seeing all the fun animals. I love watching the cute baby snow leopards play around until they zonk out. My parents come by every week when it's open and they love seeing all the animals grow up. Last time I was here we fed the lemurs and that was delightful! I highly recommend

This was a wonderful experience. Well worth the eight hour drive to get there. We met wild cats. Had an encounter with Dexter the owl monkey. We fed penguins, bunnies, tortoises, goats and kangaroos. We also got to pet those same animals. My kids danced in the water play area. To top off the day we went swimming with penguins; a dream come true for two of my kids. The best zoo we have ever been to. The animals are definitely well taken care of. Their wants and needs are at the top of the list for what happens at any time.

We took our time on Tuesday. It was a great experience. I can't name anyone specific, but all the zoo keepers and staff were great! They took time to explain things with each animal! The feeding were very unique! We love Tanganyika!! One of my favorite places!

We came for the otter and sloth experiences and they were INCREDIBLE! The ladies who led the experiences were kind, knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. We believe one of our guides was Stacey, but unfortunately, we cannot remember the second. They were both so great.

Tanganyika provided an affordable, indoor space for my 5 year olds December birthday party. It was super cool, educational and interactive experience that the kids and adults all loved. My son was able to choose 4 animals that he and his friends got to learn about and touch. The sloth was the fan favorite for sure! We did upgrade to the package that included decorations, which was definitely worth it. We arrived 15 minutes prior to the event and everything was set and ready to go! We only had to set the snacks. They also did all the tear down as well. We just made sure the trash and what we brought was cleaned up. Taylee checked in on us several times to make sure we did not need anything. My one and only complaint was that the acoustics in the room were not great making it a bit loud. But my son and his guests all loved the experience! Thanks for making his birthday party dreams come true.

We loved the Tanganyika Wildlife Park! It was so much better than the Detroit Zoo, and Indianapolis Zoo. We felt up close and personal with so many animals, not only to interact with, but a closer view that wasn’t crowded by other guests. The animals seemed well taken care of, and had clean areas to live in. The animals were moving around and playing with each other while we were there, and were friendly during interactions. Staff from all areas shared educational info about each animal and were kind. We will be coming back to get even closer and schedule meet and greets. Check the times for interactions before going so you don’t miss any!

Great experience! All of the employees were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable! The park is smaller compared to others but it is very clean and well maintained. You can tell that the employees take pride in what they do and they very much care for the animals.

I absolutely LOVE Tanganyika! I'm thrilled that I purchased season passes for my family and me. We have visited several times this summer, and there is always something new and enjoyable to experience. One aspect that I appreciate is how safe the splash park is for my children, aged 3 and 7. They can have fun in the sun while I can bring my laptop along and get some work done. It's a perfect combination of leisure and productivity for me. I can't adequately express how much my kids and I adore this place! ♥️

My partner and I were very impressed and delighted with the park. We loved feeding the giraffe and the lemur experience. The staff was topnotch, friendly and answered all the questions we had about the animals. I will definitely recommend. I have never seen Honey Badgers in a zoo before and was very happy to watch them! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Worth every penny. It is a small facility, but the animals look happy and well-kept. The interactions we had with the animals will stay with us forever. The staff are also very knowledgeable and answered all the questions my little one had.

Honestly, can't sing their praises enough!! We fed all the animals (VIP package) we enjoyed seeing all the animals and I got to swim with penguins! What more could I want? We met a sloth (Chewie) and some beautiful lions...it was an amazing experience. Wow!! This place is beautiful, the grounds have ZERO trash and the animals are very clean and healthy. This place is in tip top shape. We will be back.

We did the ultimate weekend and oh boy was it ultimate for sure. From the moment we walked in, the staff were attentive and amazing. They built our weekend into our schedule with flight issues and traveling, so added two items on Monday so we would not miss out. Thank you for giving us a weekend we will never forget!

What a fun experience! Very interactive. Facilities are clean and animals are well cared for. Plenty of areas to rest/sit in the shade as well. Bathrooms are plentiful. Staff were helpful with navigating/finding what we were looking for. We had a great time!

Nice zoo!! We were fortunate to use the sunflower app for entrance. Cute animals and friendly staff. There were really long lines for the animal feedings. We did go during a holiday weekend. Hopefully,we will choose a slower day next time to be able to experience each feeding.

This place is a gem!!! I have been to some of the best zoos in the nation and this wildlife parks beats them all! The level of education and interaction from staff is unparalleled. Well worth the trip. Make time for this stop on your travel agenda!

The park was great, we purchased the Unlimited feedings tickets for us and three of our grandchildren and they had a fantastic time and we were very pleased with everything that was included with our tickets. While visiting Lemur island, I had not eaten or hydrated properly and passed out during our one on one. The staff very quickly called for help and were very kind and patient and gave me time to leave the island. Ashley came and provided a scooter to get me to a cabana that we rented for the day, where I was able to cool down with the water and trail mix that she provided. My episode could have very easily ruined our entire visit, but thanks to the very kind and efficient staff we were able to take a break and continue our visit.

We had the best time! I was skeptical that it would be worth the price but I would 10/10 recommend! We loved being able to feed the animals and I think our favorite moments were meeting the lemurs and petting the kangaroos. The splash pad is also a great addition to the park and my daughter loved going down all the water slides. I also appreciated how the animals were in families and they seemed a lot happier than a regular zoo. We will be back!

I had such a wonderful afternoon. I got to see the animals up close and the staff was so friendly and informative about the animals. I fed a hippo, rhino, and lemur for the first time plus a giraffe and lorikeets. I also did an animal encounter with a red-ruff lemur named Emerald. It was so fascinating. I would definitely recommend a trip.

Our family had an amazing visit, this was our first trip to this zoo. It was by far the best experience we have ever had at a zoo. We were impressed with the staff, facilities, cleanliness, exhibits and animal health. Even though we arrived later in the day the staff was so kind and patient with everyone they encountered. Staff members were everywhere to answer questions and help make the most of our visit. They were very knowledgeable about all of the animals and my kids loved how each animal had names and the staff could tell unique things about each one. Families were having fun and enjoying themselves everywhere we went. The animal exhibits were exceptional, so clean, plenty of equipment for the animals to be active. The animals were extremely well taken care of, you can definitely tell they are well loved.

a slightly different experience than your average zoo. The staff is available and well versed in their animals. The ability to have some of the experiences are amazing- feeding giraffes, having lemurs climb on you, lorikeets resting on your head as you feed them, petting kangaroos- it really is incredible. Our chosen day was too cold for most animals to be out..when we mentioned we were in the area for a family wedding and were 3 hours from home the staff made the trip worthwhile by ensuring we could interact with animals that would otherwise not be available. This was a trip our children and grandchildren will not forget. Thank you!

I called to purchase tickets (and add ons) for Pumpkins at the Park. Barrett answered and was so helpful, nice, and very professional! Then, when my family came to the park, I asked a young man for directions to laser tag and wouldn't you know, I met Cooper, who happens to be Barrett's brother. He was just as helpful and nice! Kudos to Tanganyika for recognizing good people to work at their outstanding wildlife park!! I love everything about Tanganyika, and Pumpkins at the Park was no different. It's our family's new Halloween tradition! I hope to say Hello to Barrett and Cooper every year!!

This place is amazing! So many cool feedings for the various animals including lemurs (my favorite), hippos, giraffes, rhinos, lorikeets, rabbits just to name a few! My kids loved it and surprisingly so did my husband! Also the grounds was really clean! The employees are the best! Omar, Dylan and Amy were so knowledgeable and made the time there amazing!

I took my mom to the Meet and Greet with Link the Pygmy Hippo and the trainer and staff were phenomenal!! They were so educational and helpful and made the whole experience worth while!! I recommend if you have never gone to go!! It’s so much fun we spent 5 hrs there and could have been longer if they weren’t closing, gah I can’t wait to go back!! Totally worth the 4hr drive!!

We had a great time here! We ( my stepdaughter and I) did the penguin swim as a birthday gift for her, and she loved it. I really like how the park is so small, not like the Kansas City zoo where you have to walk forever to see another animal. All the staff was wonderful, I really appreciated them offering to take photos for us. As for the penguin experience it was good but I didn’t feel it as worth the $200 per person that we paid, I was a little disappointed to be honest. It was only a 30 minute experience and there were 7 of us in the group, so it felt very rushed. They did do a great job making sure everyone got good pictures with the penguins and that was very much appreciated. I think limiting it to less people, maybe 3-4 would have been a better idea. I understand that the more people that pay for it bring in more money for the business, but it unfortunately brought the quality of it down a few notches. All in all we enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing experience. The weather was perfectly comfortable. The cooler weather seemed to make the animals more active. Each enclosure had animals interacting. The different breeds of babies leads me to believe that animals are happily reproducing. I look forward to the next opportunity that we can return.

I purchased the "best day" package for our son's birthday trip & unfortunately Mother Nature didn't cooperate (the high was 39° for the day) but the staff was amazing! We got a partial refund due to most animals being inside & feedings not being done but our experiences were still a GO! The VIP lounge was a great place to warm up & offered us free hot Coco! Even though the weather was cold we still had a wonderful experience.

We held our daughter’s 3rd birthday party at Tanganyika. It was awesome! The party room was clean and bright, it had plenty of tables that were already covered with tablecloths, and a great area we could use with a sink and counter. Restrooms were close, just down the hall, they were very clean! The keeper who brought in animals was great with the guests, and was very knowledgeable. Our daughter left smiling! We received a pass to return during season with feeding pass and a gift card for the gift shop! This party far exceeded my expectations of a 3 year old party!
