This place is great. It's free to enter but they do have temporary paid exhibits, a cafe, and a gift shop. There are so many great pieces in here, some exhibits downstairs, and quite a few upstairs. Make sure to get a map so you don't miss anything. The bathrooms were clean and they do have an elevator. The parking lot was free and pretty big.

Attended alone for a delightfully serene experience. Some wonderful pieces of art, excellent value for money, and a lovely lady on the front desk made for a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours. Museum shop is outstanding as well. Will definitely return next time I'm in Wichita.

On Saturdays admissions is free! We came here to escape the heat of the summer and it was an excellent choice. The building is very well laid out and has some amazing Chihuly sculptures. The outdoor spaces are also very well laid out with some beautiful limestone retaining walls.

Definitely place to visit when in Wichita. What I really like personally was the creative space with further activities and workshops to understand better the museum and its exhibitions. Also their cafe and museum shop were pretty nice. I do really appreciate their programming toward pets and jazz concerts:)

I love Aggie ! She was at the front desk and was very informative and kind. She shared us other places to visit in Wichita for the weekend and was sweet enough to hand over a pamphlet with city’s events and attractions listed. The museum has free floors that we can walk in without a ticket. The displays were nice , what really caught my eye was the bridge with glass Chihuly glass flower display. Especially when the sunlight fell on it, it was mesmerizing to look at!

We love the art museum! I bring my boys (5 under 5) all the time and they still ask to go back! There is a large kid area with chairs and tables to color/do the provided activities as well as children's books, sensory chairs, and couches. My kids enjoy printing off scavenger hunts to bring in and that keeps us discovering new things each visit! There is a clear floor with art pieces under it that visitors can walk over and explore, and the events WAM puts on are always a fun time!

It’s just the right size to see the exhibits without be overwhelmed. Loved the special on Kansas female artists. The cafe is a true gem. Chef on premises turns out delicious plates. Quiche, soups, pot roast, salads and sandwiches. Definitely stay for lunch.

We love the Wichita Art Museum, especially their Art Start program. Samantha is so sweet and patient with the kids. They have a cool bridge that you can go on if you take your shoes off that is on top of various Chihuly Art Glass. I love that this Art museum feels very welcoming and not stuffy at all. Don't miss the great climbable sculptures you can find around back.

As a Wichita native, I'm proud to say this is a museum we've made. It has large spaces for both the permanent exhibits and traveling ones. The traveling one was mostly art glass, and several of the pieces in both collections were excellent for pausing to contemplate life.

Belgian artist paper dresses. So much more intricate and beautiful than personal imagination can visualize beforehand. My 6 and 9 year old grandchildren said, "Their minds were blown". An outstanding review, I think. We had a lot of fun. Then strolled through the permanent collection. Their favorite painting, that literally stopped them in their walk around? The Pit. We visited the Ritchie room on the lower level for the rest of the dress review. Great continuity to the bigger show upstairs. And then it was outside to run and look at the outdoor art. It was a great few hours of art.

FABULOUS smaller museum with a wonderful permanent collection including Frederic Remington, Mary Cassatt, Winslow Homer, and two permanent Dale Chihuly installations among others. There is always at least one wonderful exhibit going on. The Museum is a nice modern style and is available for receptions and other functions. Lots of fun pieces from classical to modern for the whole family to enjoy. ❤️

We went for a family birthday during one of their free events! The museum is always lovely with ever changing exhibits but this one was so spectacular! Right now they have a featured exhibit with glass sculptures inspired by Native American Indians. The glass was so breathtaking! The exhibit had so much information it really made you feel connected to the prieces! We always stop by the gift shop (the cards are fabulous!) And donate when we can!

Had a wonderful experience this past Saturday, viewing native glass art, watching a war dance, and being able to partake in museum art in a community project. My girls and I cannot wait to be back.

Great art exhibit. Nice places to sit and relax. Vintage dresses, shoes, and purses.. Beautiful glass work throughout, including the walkout glass floor consumed with amazing glass art work. Children's play and create area, to draw pictures, read books, make cards, and of course Play! A couple of hours is a reasonable time allowance when visiting this museum.

I went here after going to the nearby western town area. It was a nice building! Neat looking use of space. There were no special exhibits there when I visited. It was a nice part of the day! It was my only full day there and so it was a nice part of my chain of visits. Especially since it was within walking distance of the old town area (both free on Sunday!!)

I went to cool off because my AC was broken and wondered why nobody had told me about it sooner! What a gem. The Chihuly Bridge was a highlight for me. It has all the major arts represented and even the landscaping is museum quality. I even enjoyed walking outside during the heatwave.

The opening of Upside Down, Topsy-Turvy, And Inbetween was a whimsical adventure of Sight...Sound...and Taste. Fire twirllers greet you at the entrance. Step inside to hear the sound of bongos. Climb the stairs to find arialists, popcorn n cotton candy and circus art. A Great time was had by ALL!
