Got the jacuzzi suite. The room was nice but it wasn't worth the expensive price per night. The TV was old along with the mini fridge and telephone. Bed was made neatly with crisp clean linen and room was very clean. The jacuzzi looked pretty old but still worked well

On November 10th, 2:00am, the associate on duty burned some food so severely that it caused a mass evacuation of the entire building. The fire department showed up and when the fire department asked what happened, the associate said "Nothing!" and laughed. The fire department unit asked "Where is the fire" and the Best Western associate replied; "No fire here, nothing to worry about sir" while dozens of people ran outside where it was in the mid 30 degrees. I told the associate I needed a refund at least for that night, and he refused. Stating "that would be coming out of my pocket, Sir, I cannot afford that". It was my daughters birthday. I sent a message to corporate. Would not recommend unless you want to live out a top floor emergency fire scenario.

Everything was ok. The staff was courteous and really nice. And the room was good as far as rooms go. But they aren't very good at keeping your personal information like credit card numbers secure. Shortly after we checked out, they sent an email to someone with my information on it, and they ended up contacting me about it. Had to cancel my card. Will be contacting corporate tomorrow.

A decent hotel, but not outstanding. First the good things: We checked in fairly late, around 10pm. The night clerk was very friendly and helpful. I've stayed in hotels somewhere between 8-10 times this year, and this lady was by far the best. Five stars for her. Breakfast was good. Not the most selection I've ever seen for comparable hotels, but it good enough. Now the not-so-good: We had reserved a private jacuzzi room. The jacuzzi had trash in it, which therefore calls to question when was the last time it was actually cleaned. Also, the night we stayed It was sub-freezing outside, and the room temp had been preset to a rather chilly 65 degrees. I cranked up the thermostat and pressed the button to HI fan speed. The heater didn't seem to respond. Fortunately, the room did get warmer. Apparently it just has one working fan speed. Finally... I gave the location 4 stars. The hotel is close to an industrial area and there was a really foul smell in the air... a combination of a dumpster mixed with spent fireworks. Clearly not the hotel's fault as I also smelled it across the street at the IHOP parking lot. The smell was strong enough that if had it been in summer months it would have been a major deterrent to using the outdoor pool. The odor was gone the next morning, so I don't know what the story was. Just something to be aware of if you're traveling in summer months and intend to use the pool.

Great staff, comfy and roomy suite, yummy breakfast! BW is always my first choice in where to stay. Always a good stay.

The staff, (specifically Shelly and Lonnie) were really wonderful! Everything was super good and was clean and as a former GM of a BW property myself, this is great to see. The only thing that was wrong was our clock wasn’t working but we brought it down and we given another one. We will be back on our way back home next week.

Just your typical hotel. Nothing special about it. Air conditioner in room very noisy. Made it difficult to sleep. Breakfast just okay. Eggs were watery. Biscuits not very good.

A very welcoming hotel. When you enter you get a genuine greeting. The staff is friendly and polite. The desk clerk also recommended a great barbecue place to eat that was walking distance to the hotel

The rooms were pretty clean. It's weird that all ice and vending is on the second floor and above, but at least there is an elevator. If you are staying multiple nights and want housekeeping at all during your stay, you MUST request it in the morning. Otherwise, they won't clean or change linens (we stayed for five days and asked several times about room turnover, and on day three, they finally came). Most hotels will clean every third day or so automatically, so this might be a nice addition to their routine. The toilets could use updating, and the shower curtains do more harm than good, leaving puddles on the floor easily. I easily would have rated this as 3 stars, as the two male desk attendants didn't seem to know what they were doing most of the time (you had to repeat requests several times throughout the day, etc.)...but Shelley is the real MVP. She is super friendly, on top of her service (she has a great welcome speech and responds to requests promptly), and she is very personable. She said hello every time she saw us and asked how we were doing. She chatted a ton with my mother in law when she waited in the lobby. The beds were comfortable and clean. The appliances all worked. The daily hot breakfast was nice and fairly standard (waffles, cereal, potatoes, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, yogurt, juices). The furniture in our rooms was pretty old and might use a refresh (a few tears and very faded). The hotel gets plenty of business and is in a location we need. They have good security camera coverage and are smoke free. Tons of food nearby. We will return, but we would love to see some updates. The staff might just be overwhelmed (we only saw three desk agents and maybe two housekeeping).

I've Never felt more appreciated as a customer/rewards member than I did at the Governor's Inn in Wichita Kansas!(who would of known?!) I have been throughout the United States and I love staying at Best Western. I have stayed in 12 different states worth of their hotels. Shelley Green, the front desk manager, is one of the most welcoming customer service professionals I have ever met. You will be in the best hands at this location. Don't hesitate for a second to stay here! Hopefully you'll be lucky enough to be served by Shelley!

I have been coming to wichita at least once a month for over a year. This was my first time staying here. The two gentleman at the desk were awesome. They were helpful, and polite. I was able to pay a little extra and check in early. They even worked on the price a bit for me. They rooms were comfortable and clean. Coming from someone who has stayed everywhere in the area this stay was hands down the best!!

Beds and pillows were very comfortable! The water pressure was amazing on the first floor as well. It did smell like cigarette smoke in the hallway, lots of dings and scratches on the doors and walls, which is expected. The floors and tables were really dusty like no one had stayed in the rooms for a while. It's a little outdated but worked for the one night of sleep and showers we needed. The staff was also very polite. So if you're looking for a place with a decent price to stay for the night I'd recommend it here.

We called ahead to make sure we could check in late (after midnight) and also bring our dog. The manager said they don't usually allow dogs but he had a room available and would allow the dog for an extra $20. We ended up arriving at 3am and the night clerk was waiting for us and knew all about it. Extremely accommodating and gracious, and they even allowed us to check out at noon instead of 11 because of our very late arrival. We were also able to park our 20ft moving truck and trailer with no problem. Every employee was welcoming and friendly, couldn't haven't asked for better and they really saved us on our long drive. I gave 4 stars for the rooms only because they forgot to replenish the complimentary shampoo and conditioner bottles after the previous guest. We could have asked for them at the desk but we had our own along with us so it wasn't an issue at all.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Our rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. The only mild irritation we had was the remote didn't want to work every time and it was not even worthy of reporting to the front desk. The location was great for where we were headed.

Very happy with this stay. The person at the front desk, Shelley, is super helpful and friendly. The room is clean and quiet. I'll be back!

While the location was a bit sketchy as its in the middle of nowhere, the staff were nice, accommodating, and managed to get us a decent room for a good price. My only actual complaint was that the intercontinental breakfast was lacking but ill chalk that up to a coincidence. If you're looking for a place to stay and your in this town, it might be the Best choice for this Western.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. The bed was the worse bed I have ever slept on. It was hard as a rock, my husband and I woke up from the few hours we got sore as all get out. Pillows are the same way.

Charged too much, according to websites, google, best western. Desk person had no answer why. "Manager will call you" Never happened. Handicapped room was not for handicapped. You can't put extra grab handles in tub and call it handicapped room. Walk in showers are what we call handicapped rooms. TV didn,t work, desk guy tried to get it to work. Breakfast was cold. Customer service is a joke. She had an answer for everything that was wrong, on the tip of her tongue. Must get plenty of calls on this stuff. COld breakfast? "somebody must have let the heaters go out" OH? From 6:45 till 8: 45? TV? "we had them changed to another supplier, wasn,t set up right". We are senoirs, in our mid seventies. Guess we may be expecting too much.

I liked it was clean there's a pool there's breakfast. And it's not too bad of a price I guess for having a pool. The location is very hidden to me at least I think. Almost like look there it ain't.

Next stay here will probably not take advantage of the breakfast. They had very good items to choose from but the eating area only held approximately 15-16 people.

The room was very large, clean and beds were nicely made. Breakfast area was so very very small. If we stay there again we will not take advantage of the breakfast.

The hotel has three floors and one elevator. There should be proper signage informing guests that ice is one floor and the snacks and drinks are on separate floor. When we checked in it was late and I wasted time looking around the third floor for ice just to ask the clerk on the first floor who told me to go to the second floor. Our bathroom toilet was clogged. The front desk came up and plunged it for us leaving the plunger on the side of the toilet which felt like they were hunting that it would happen again. The same front desk person had to also leave us with two remotes and two sensors for the television to work. Even with all of that the TV stopped working the very next day, luckily we were staying for one day only and didn't mind not having television for the kiddos while packing to leave. The breakfast was hot and free. The beds were comfortable, but some renovations and signage should be on this hotel's to do list. And maybe an investment in on site maintenance so that the front desk doesn't have to check in and handle guests requests

Great evening staff, but older hotel. Room had an oder. Tv did not work and staff had to come up and add a new sensor. AC fan would not run continuously. Very small and stuffy breakfast area. Somewhat disappointing compared to other Best Westerns

My wife and I stayed here only because the Holiday Inn Express was booked and I read the reviews of others. It sounded comparable, but (1) it did not live up to HIE, and (2) it did not live up to the highly favorable reviews. First, for whatever reason, the desk attendant had all kinds of problems even locating our reservation. It wasn't until after he called the manager that he found our reservation printed out and lying upon on his desk. That said, the attendant was kind and professional while he fumbled around to locate us. Second, the room was warm when we first walked in. No biggee. We simply turned down the air conditioner. But, then as the evening went on, we started discovering things like dust bunnies on the floor at the head of the bed. The toilet seat was loose and had been replaced with something Home Depot that did not fit the bowl. Probably the grossest discovery was the moldy grout in the shower walls. Then there was the television remote that didn't work properly, which the attendant came upstairs and replaced a gadget on the tv, so that it kinda-sorta worked. Third, as for breakfast the next morning, it was pretty much standard. Nothing fancy. It was probably the best part of the stay. Fourth, when Best Western sent me a survey email the next day, I submitted what we experienced, only to be sent a follow-up email from the General Manager of the place basically accusing us of lying. He wrote, "Have not found anything wrong with the toilet seat or bath walls, We do inspect our rooms after each stay, have not found anything on head board. Yes i understand the TV and remote control problems and we are about to switch to all smart 52 inch tv's soon." He cc'd his response to someone else, which I took the liberty of telling whoever of my further dissatisfaction with his response. I would have given the place a 3-star rating until the General Manager wrote what he did. Was it a terrible stay? No. At least there wasn't mold and dust bunnies growing in the bed. It just didn't live up to the reviews, and I suspect that if the General Manager continues in his denial, then the place will degrade. Whatever the case, we won't be back. We'll either stay at the Holiday Inn Express there in South Wichita, or simply keep driving until we find one. All the best to those rolling the dice with this Best Western location.

OMG, let's start with the fact that the front desk clerk could not speak English. It was very difficult asking him a question because he didn't know what the hell I was saying.🙄 Next thing, when we got to our "non-smoking" room It smelled horribly like smoke. So much that it was making me sick and I couldn't stay in that room. I was asked to be moved and I was put on the second floor. The only good thing was the front desk manager was super helpful and very nice and apologetic. She checked our room to make sure it was okay for us and it was. If it wasn't for her I would only give it two stars. The water pressure was great but the shower head did not adjust and the water sprayed directly at my face so I had to take a shower to the side of the tub. Everyone is not 6 ft tall. Also some of the towels needed to be in the trash. You could see straight through them. You don't give those to a guest. When a towel doesn't absorb water it's not a towel anymore. The last thing that troubled me was the next morning when we had breakfast. I went down to the breakfast area and all of the tables were dirty. This was an hour before breakfast was supposed to close. I asked the same front desk clerk that checked us in the day before if someone could clean one of the tables off so we could sit and eat. And he had no clue what I was saying. He told me to go sit down, which came off really rude but it was mainly because I think he didn't understand me. The entire time we were in the breakfast area no one came to clean up or check the food or replenish it. The coffee was completely empty and the food was cold. I understand if they don't have enough workers and the front desk person is handling breakfast as well but come on!!! There were eight people that came in after us and no clean tables, no coffee, cold and barely enough food was left. One hour and no one was at the front desk so why wasn't someone tending to the breakfast room. I will definitely pass up this location on my next visit. 😔

The staff at Best Western Governors Inn (Wichita, Kansas) was very nice and accommodating to my family. We arrived in town early and they had housekeeping clean the first double room that opened up that morning (after being completely booked the night before) to allow my family to check in 4 hours early so that we could shower and get cleaned up before heading out to an event we were scheduled for. Not many hotels will do that. The room was very clean, and smelled fresh upon entering. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and we enjoyed our one night stay while we were in town. Lots of nearby fast food restaurants, with easy access to the Highway. It was a pleasant stay.

Shelley green was so kind and helpful both over the phone and at the front desk. Can’t stress enough how much we appreciated her kind tone and can do attitude. Most hotels stop their inviting energy at the ads, Shelley went above and beyond to make our check in and check out experience as inviting as possible. We need more Shelley greens in the hotel service industry. Thank you Shelley!
