This place was absolutely terrible. Let me start off by saying the hotel was very humid and muggy. Room was absolutely disgusting shower had hairs in the tub and all over like it had not been clean room was run down sheets were dirty and beds were super hard the fridge was dirty and had crumbs all over inside. Our ac was the lowest setting and it did not cool off the room and the humidity made the room and carpet feel sticky. Pool was green so couldnt even enjoy swimming. Definitely do not recommend staying here very disappointed as this is part of hilton brand. Don't waster your time or money. Have pictures but can't figure out how to add them

Arrived and checked in went to room and unpacked since I was going to be there for 4 nights. Had to call front desk because there was no desk chair in the room. They brought me one but seat was filthy. Had a family above me with 4 kids that were running around and jumping and was extremely loud. I called the room to ask if they could keep it down but the noise didn't get any better. I called the front desk to see if I could get another room which they did but when I got the new room I had to move the desk chair from my first room. The new room walls were dirty and the curtains looked like someone smeared blood on them. They had no kleenex in the room, no packets of sugar, creamer or anything except the coffee packets for coffee. I think they better replace the curtains, they are gross.

Breakfast was supposed to end at 10AM on Saturday but at 9:30 there were no more hot foods. The door didn't latch properly in my room and the safety catch didn't work right. The door, probably because it didn't close right, loudly let in all the sounds from the hallway, which there was a lot of at all hours. Thermostat on wall did not work. Bed was pretty uncomfortable and the sheets were scratchy and not soft at all. Lighting in the room was poor so it just seemed dark and dingy. I'm not sure how old the hotel is but it looks old and in need of maintenance.

After driving nine hours we were grateful they had a room, a very nice one and on a low floor. Great location, close to many amenities!

The rooms were fine but had to move hotels because they were overbooked on the weekend. Couldn't even get a late checkout. Took my business to a Holiday Inn Express a mile down the road.

Nice hotel, clean and the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. Very comfortable. My only complaint is there was no hot water while we were there and no one seemed concerned or made any effort to fix the situation. This wasn’t limited to our room but was hotel wide. I suspect this is not the norm but no one in our group was able to shower in the morning. Not ideal. But I would go back and stay there again.

Housekeeping barged in twice. I booked 3 nights. The online rate through Southwest was cheaper than a military rate. Sad. No hot water. Had to move rooms. Went to do laundry. One washer and dryer for entire hotel and dryer was out of service. I'm a travel nurse.

HORRIBLE customer service. Made a reservation 10 days ago, they gave our reservation away and basically stuck us in a closet with a bed. Offered us a rollout and a discount. Room smelled horrible, fridge wasn’t even cold, no clock. When we said we weren’t staying, they acted shocked because they gave us a rollaway and a discount... ZERO STARS.

We were just in town for a funeral, and the staff at this location did everything in their ability to accommodate us in every way possible. I just want to say thank you to the staff for their patience and understanding.

Beds were horrible. Hard and uncomfortable and might have slept better on the floor. I slept a total of an hour and a half. At check out, when I told them about the hard as a rock beds and my sleepless night they did nothing. I asked if they could take something off the price and the best they could do was 10 dollars. What a joke. This was after I was charged 150 dollars for a standard room that averages 100 dollars a day. I guess they felt they could charge 150 because I booked the night of. But to only take 10 dollars off is laughable. Don’t stay here unless you want to be overcharged for a sleepless night.

First off, the staff is wonderful! We actually got a phone call from the front desk asking us if our room was satisfactory. I told the nice lady that the nightstand had something sticky gross all over it, I had already cleaned it with the disinfectant wipes that are provided in the room. I also said behind said nightstand was some trash. She offered us a different room, but we were already settled. I'd stay here again.

They said pool was soppose to be heated at 70. It was ice cold not Luke warm even 2sd, I wanted a connecting room for me and my under age children. Booked w nights, and 2 rooms a month in advance. No one until I got there explained, connecting is for handicapped only. But yet Commercial on TV shows Paris Hilton having a connecting room for her luggage but my underage children had to be in a separate room non connecting. Nobody explained it until I got to the front desk to check in that those were handicapped rooms only.

A little rough around the edges. While the breakfasts during a three-day were above average and staff was friendly, there were plenty of little annoyances. Nothing major enough to complain about; bed not great, toilet seat would not stay up, pipes in the wall behind the headboard would start banging every morning around 5:30am, toilet paper bracket fell off the wall, and orange juice dispenser was "out of service" entire stay for breakfast.

I was lucky enough to spend my Christmas last year at this Hampton Inn. The staff here went above and beyond to make sure that my dogs and I were very cozy and happy for the holiday. My niece came to stay with me (she’s very young) and had a blast running around talking with the staff. Thank you to the entire Hampton Inn at Derby for an amazing stay!

We've stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed our stay every time. It's well-maintained, clean and the staff is friendly. We traveled with our dogs and they're welcomed, given treats and there's a big field next door for exercising them. Amanda at the front desk was really welcoming and even called after we got to our room to make sure everything was as it should be. The beds are comfy and we enjoyed our stay. We'll stay here again when we travel through next time!

All observed areas were clean and well maintained. The housekeeping staff were friendly and happily supplied more towels when asked. Any time staff were needed, they were easily available. The front desk staff were professional and accommodating in all things and with requests I made (extra soap and whatnot). The breakfast service had excellent variety and the temperatures were perfect, fruit and cold items were appropriately chilled while eggs, bacon and other hot items were appropriately hot. And the cherry on top is that the complementary coffee was never cold nor in short supply. The place seems to be a well run operation.

The day I arrived (7/8/22), I requested a full house cleaning on Tuesday (7/12/22) and Thursday (7/14/22). The front desk said not a problem and she wrote it down. I returned to my room Tuesday afternoon and no full clean, only towels refreshed and trash emptied. So I called the front desk and ask what they considered a full housekeeping visit and it was what I thought. I told her it didn't happen and she assured me it would happen the next day, Wednesday. I arrived back to my room Wednesday and same thing, just towel refresh and trash emptied. Once again, I called the front desk to check what a full housekeeping was and it was what I thought. This time, the front desk wasn't very interested in the housekeeping failure and just told me she would leave a note for the housekeeping supervisor and said it should be cleaned tomorrow, Thursday. Well, I returned to my room Thursday and NOTHING AT ALL had been cleaned in my room. Trash was still there, towels still on the floor, nothing vacuumed, and of course the bed linens not changed. I was leaving the next day Friday, so I saw no need and trying to get somebody to actually do their job that day. I figured I would just sit in my dirty room and watch TV, wouldn't you know it, the TV wouldn't work. I did not let the front desk know about this because they couldn't handle the housekeeping situation so I figured, this would go unattended also. I was told that the rule was the room would have a complete flip on my fourth day of stay, obviously that didn't happen.

Unfortunately the pool was out. We had been living in a house with no AC for a week and decided to splurge with money we don’t really have to stay at a nearby hotel. We were not notified at any point that the pool was closed until we checked in, got unpacked and changed and then went and found a note on the door. Other than that disappointing part, the staff was very nice and the room was very clean.

Room was just ok. The shower area wasn't very clean. They had a good breakfast. Hotel is located where we often travel to, not any other hotels in this area or we would try another.

Staff were great. However room temperature set to 60F such that the room was too cold. Frankly wasteful to do thing both financially and environmentally. I bet the company is passing on the cost to their customer instead of trying to lower operating costs.

Grateful for handicap rooms, are you too? Stayed here while taking care of my folks' estate. Was nice to be in Derby again, everything is so conveniently located. Nice staff, great facilities. Sweet town.

Jennifer and Zebidee were AWESOME!! The reason for the two star rating is due to the very challenging time we had booking our rooms. We were a sports team and one mom booked us a block. We all called to claim rooms under the block. The mom who booked the block called to confirm several times, we as individuals called to confirm 2-3 times. Somehow when one of our rooms got canceled the whole block got canceled despite us saying we only wanted one room canceled! And STILL as we were driving to the hotel and calling to confirm two of our families reservations were not on record. It was awful. Other than the reservations debacle the hotel was good… maybe not the cleanest but still good.

Been staying here for several days nearly every year since about 2014.... in order to visit my dad in town. Consistently clean, friendly, great staff, good breakfast. staff seem to enjoy doing the work of hospitality and especially enjoy meeting guests and making us feel welcome. One of the best Hampton Inns in the country (I've been to quite a few!)

The bad part: The hairdryer sucks-it overheats every 1 minute of use. The shower pressure is like taking a shower during a drizzle. The water isn’t warm either. Orchestrating cleaning the room was nearly impossible-although the staff was told to clean it, it often wouldn’t get done. Then when the room would “be cleaned” it wasn’t vacuumed, only swept where the debris was on the edges of the bathroom. We got to the point of just cleaning it ourselves because having to take your pet out of the room for the day in hopes it would be cleaned was annoying. The refrigerator freezer worked but dumps water onto all the food inside daily for what appears to be no reason. The laundry room dryer is broken so every few days, plan to go to a laundry mat. The good part: the breakfast has enough variety daily to make an extended stay live-able. The front desk was helpful when asking for towels and trash bags. They never hesitated to assist. Occasionally they would bake cookies in the evening for guests as well. The pool is a nice break and the gym is clean and has a decent variety for the space. The convenience to Derby and south Wichita is ideal due to its location. Overall, the fixes stated about are minimal but it’s what keeps this hotel at only being ok instead of great.

The hotel booked the room reservation incorrectly and then demanded we leave a day early. We never received an email or paperwork from them upon arrival. We were in a VA meeting 35 miles away when they called to say we were no longer welcome, so they told us they would be gathering our things and putting us out. The manager lied to us and the corporate representative saying they informed us of the lack of a room and that we cussed them. We left the meeting and rushed back to the hotel. We called the Derby police to assist us in getting our things. They then tried to increase the room rate at the time of payment. The very rude manager has banned us from ever coming back. Don’t worry, we would never return anyway.
