UPDATE: 4 YEARS AGO, I LEFT A BAD REVIEW, SSE BELOW. NOW, the VA has changed, everyone is respectful and helpful. What a major change. The Va doesn't care about me as a human or as a vet, all I am is a number, like a cow in a slaughter house. I am disappointed when I have to tell my dr. that my meds have to come from the VA. It takes 10-14 days for meds I need the next day, and If the Dr. puts STAT on it and faxes it to the VA pharmacy, it's supposed to be sent over night, but usually gets here in 2-3 days. The VA is becoming a living joke. ANOTHER THING, my Dr. Prescribed me medicine to help me lose weight, but the VA denied it, but the VA said I could have Bariatric surgery. The VA is a joke, an embarrassment.

4 weeks now i have made calls every other day asking a simple question. I need to talk to the sleep clinic and get my yearly refill. Left numerous messages, my wife left a message. Still no call back. Yep freshly retired and the VA shows me everyday without a call why we all said that their service is lacking. Very sad!!

This post is in recognition of the outstanding support, I just recently received at the VA. My surgeon was Dr. Wilkerson. His diagnosis and treatment, of a possible cancerous growth, was beyond outstanding. The outcome was that it was benign and there are no words that express the joy for myself and fiancee.... Also, the entire staff was very professional and caring during the Hospital stay.

My doctor and care team have been excellent. I can leave a message and always receive a call back. My appointments have never been rescheduled or have been made to wait for an unreasonable amount of time for anything.

Got in right away and got service quickly. My problem was evaluated and a remedy was worked out. I received a cortisone shot in the area of my pain. Thought it helped, but as always it's just me having my hopes so high when something new is provided. I'm still back to square one, pain is a terrible sickness. I would rate it worse then Covid, you don't get it for 15+ years and still have it.

Today I walked in with a dental emergency, I have not wanted to go because of how I was treated the last visit back in 2013. What a shock I experienced today with the way I was treated. The dentist got me in immediately and treated me better than I have ever been treated at any appointments anywhere. They have renewed my faith in them.

IF I could give zero stars i definitely would. This has to be the absolute worst VA in America. I am speaking from personal experience as a stage 4 cancer patient! I recently just had to make a grueling 8-hour journey by car to another hospital for treatment by myself. No help at all from community care. They truly don't care about anything you are going through, they are simply there to collect a paycheck and hopefully not have to answer to anyone during work hours. I have called the complaint line about this negligent behavior MULTIPLE times and nothing is done. After serving your country and receiving a terminal diagnosis from that, you would think the VETERANS who served and work there would be more understanding. This is not the case, there is no comradery, no family sense, they just want to hurry to shut your mouth about your complaints and keep going about their day. If I could make a 1-star review everyday about them I would! If I could look at the director in the face and belittle him, I would. Those are the TRUE actions of people who "help" America's veterans.

Bob Dole VAMC, Wichita, KS Director Candace Ifabiyi violates VA’s β€œMissions Act”. Ms Ifabiyi misinforms veterans of their travel reimbursement entitlements in order to reduce the expenditures from her budget to justify her position. She has tried to deny me Hotel, food and and mileage expense so entitled by the Missions Act. I have filed case #09160494 with the VA Whitehouse Hotline in 12/29/2022 to expose Ms Ifabiyi in denying veterans quality healthcare in her attempt to receive accommodations as a good VA administrator. Bob Dole VAMC reviews are 3.9 stars out of 5.0; a marginal rating at best. Ms Ifabiyi should be relieved from duty and reassigned to a post immune from administering policy!!!!

I just recently separated from the military and was very nervous to seek care at a VA facility, as I didn't always have the best experiences with the medical care offered to me while I was active. I was even moreso nervous after reading some of these reviews and struggling to get ahold of someone to make my initial appointment. Although it can be difficult to get ahold of someone and wait times can be a bit more than I'd hope, I understand many of the limitations and shortcomings of government Healthcare in general. However, once I arrived for my initial visit (of which I had SEVERAL medical issues I wanted to address), I was blown away. For starters, this is a huge facility, which as far as I saw, seemed very clean and nicely updated! Everyone is incredibly friendly, approachable, and more than willing to help! I saw Dr. Terrell and Sandra who were both incredible! I am a bit stressed out trying to figure out all my health issues and they were helpful, professional, and attentive. They really helped ease alot of my worries! In my experience, it isn't common to find a medical team who truly listens and tries their best to legitimately address all your concerns. I am incredibly grateful for that experience! I also had to stop in at labs and to get my veteran health ID card. Of which, the service was also beyond my expectations.

This was my 1st va after getting out of the army. I have been to alot of different ones since now I moved away from Kansas. I will and still to this day think this is thee best VA I have ever been to. The doctors a d nurses even the case managers. I wish I didn't live so far away I would still be going here.

The Veteran's healthcare is significantly compromised by the bureaucracy; paperwork; documentation; forms ; and excessive red tape! Malignant aggressive cancer treatment delayed over 8 weeks due to the red tape!!!!!

Going here for medical help with veterans and working with the VA to answer veteran's questions is fine. The change in the last two weeks to the phone service is UNACCEPTABLE. We call Robert Dole and are transferred to Kansa City. We informed the Kansas City office handles eight different veteran's associations in the state. We are always being transferred by phone to the wrong office. We have to go in person to resolve business.

I have literally had to beg for help treating pain after waiting near 2 months. Pain that causes sleep deprivation which is a known safety issue for everyone. No one seems to care. They misconstrue what I say and send me from one department to another all the while the department act as if they are individual businesses not communicating with each other. ( The left hand doesn't know what the right is doing ) and that is working in their benefit for some strange reason that is exceptable. My last MRI was done fully clothed . Have you ever heard of wearing your street clothes , shoes and all when having an MRI ? Misconstruing the veterans complaints seems to be the modus operandi. Just sad that it's come back to this. I saw this level of treatment a few years after Vietnam and now after the Middle East. I think it's about keeping under budget more than veterans healthcare.

Been going to this VA for more than 15 years. And never had a single issue. Some people simply can't be made happy. Period.

Don’t go to the Wichita, Ks Robert J Dole VA. I have been to 4 different same day clinic doctors, 2 different primary care doctors, and 4-5 ER visits since July of 2022 for a whip worm infection. I have specified every symptom and showed them pictures of the parasites but still get denied treatment. They have done 7 different sets of stool and blood samples just to tell me it's IBS and stress, when I have proof that I am showing them as well as information from the animal sanctuary I volunteered at that the animals had whip worm. I am 100% VA disabled and considered by them unemployable. The VA is the only healthcare I can receive. There is no reason these doctors should be refusing to treat something this simple. All they are doing is wasting my time and the tax payers dollars on tests that come up inconclusive.

It's impossible to get care here. They require you to wear a surgical mask anywhere you go inside, and if you don't, they kick you out. They don't care if you need care or not. They don't care if you have an appointment. How are we supposed to get the care we need if we can't even get in?

The RJ DOLE VA medical center is a good place for veterans to get the help they need

It's a typical VA hospital. Do everything the hardest way possible. Not good at letting Vets know what is available and how to access it. Wait times for appointments are getting much better. At this particular VA the employees are much more friendly then most, which is nice.

I have been going to the VA ever since I returned from a deployment in Iraq in 2009. The service is phenomenal and they seemingly strive to give the best quality care to all veterans. ER visits are incredibly fast (have been there 5 times in 13 years) and the longest wait has been 5 (five, cinco) MINUTES...!! Give me VA medical care ANYTIME before I get civilian care.. Thank you Bob Dole VA staff.....

Zero stars if I could. Doctors take an oath of do no harm but since September I have been gaslighted and told nothing is wrong and then when you fight for just basic care nobody wants to do anything for you. Since October 19 not only have I been fighting with primary care over my health care my mental health has deteriorated to the point I no longer want to leave my home for fear of my mental health.

They are giving out patient information over the phone in the pharmacy. Just because someone calls you doesn't mean you have the right to give them any info on me. Maybe I should hold the militaries secrets the same way. If someone calls me and says the right things I'll give them sar required info. It's not yours to give, so don't.
