I
went
to
the
ER
with
knee
pain
last
night.
The
ER
was
extremely
busy
and
while
my
wait
was
considerable,
I
found
it
reasonable
under
the
circumstances.
I
have
no
problem
with
the
care
I
received.
in
fact
I
was
treated
professionally
and
well
cared
for.
My
issue
was
with
how
I
saw
another
patient
treated.
There
was
an
African
American
woman
that
came
in
about
30
minutes
after
I
did
with
severe
back
pain.
She
was
literally
crying
out
in
pain.
The
ER
Administration
staff
had
this
woman
lie
on
the
floor
in
the
lobby
while
she
waited
for
treatment.
I
understand
that
there
were
no
beds
in
the
ER
proper
to
put
her
in,
but
they
could
have
damn
sure
placed
her
on
a
rollaway
bed
and
let
her
rest
in
the
hallway
until
she
could
be
seen.
I
felt
horrible
about
how
this
lady
was
treated
and
couldn’t
imagine
how
I
would
have
reacted
if
she
were
a
member
of
my
family.
I
feel
guilty
that
I
myself
didn’t
do
more
to
speak
on
her
behalf.
This
was
not
a
good
look
for
Via
Christi
Hospital.
You
can
do
much,
much,
better.
