I just have to share how wonderful this location is! I have two young kids & they absolutely love it here. The kidzone workers knew their names within the first day or two of going! They have incredible consistency with who works back there. It’s so nice to drop my kids off to familiar faces every time we go! Every time we walk in we are greeted by friendly faces. The facility is always kept clean & the equipment is great as well! Every time someone is looking for a gym I quickly recommend the west ymca to them! I can’t say how much I love this place! I could go on & on!!

This is my parent's YMCA and we are there on a fairly regular basis. We are always welcomed with friendly smiles and the workers there are very helpful. My kids enjoy the pool, we enjoy volleyball and pickleball and basketball. It looks like they also have a great workout area with lots of free weights and machines. My parents are there at least 5 times a week and they absolutely love it!

The kidzone staff is friendly and I trust them to take care of my kids. The front desk staff is rude and abrupt. Customer service is everything! We will be looking elsewhere for a gym membership.

Nice location. You DO NOT need to bring your own padlock as they have combinations built into the lockers. Just put your items in, close the door, and set your combo by twisting the dials. Pretty simple. YMCA is membership only, but staff will help you set one up pretty quickly. There is a YMCA Greater Wichita app which features workouts you can try. Also allows you to scan your phone at the door with a QR code for easy entry. They have a wide variety of workout equipment here, which helps you to work every muscle in your body. Also there is a swimming pool where you can swim laps. Some people even attend aerobics classes. Track is upstairs, must be 13+ to use. 14 laps = 1 mile. Track direction switches depending on what day of the week it is. Bring your family to the YMCA and check it out if you are nearby.

The YMCA’s mission statement ends with “regardless of ability to pay.” My young adult daughter is unable to work, has no income, but had enough savings to pay a reduced price for a year, but they wouldn’t give her a discount at all. It’s very disappointing for a Christian organization to completely disregard their mission statement and discriminate in this way.

Machines and equipment are in need of attention and repair. But despite this, new floors and astro turf was purchased instead. The redesign and rearranging of this location was clearly designed by someone who works at the YMCA, but doesn't work out at the YMCA.

I am a previous employee who hasn't worker there for years. Today was my first time back as a guest and I can honestly say I was nervous. However, Kim at the front desk helped calmed my anxiety down and reminded me why I love the YMCA so much. Thank you, ma'am for what you do and your kind spirit!

This y location has an ongoing problem with cleanliness. Everytime that I am that there is either dirty floors and surfaces in the sauna or the drains in the showers are full of hair or both. Whoever is assigned to the men's locker room cleaning is either lazy or blind. I have tried bringing this up with staff numerous times but nothing is done. The pool is great and the workout areas are pretty good. It has a gymnasium for ball games etc which seems pretty well maintained. This is still my preferred y location and the staff is nice and friendly. I would really love them to keep up better with the cleaning though.

It's a good gym no problems staff is very nice only downside that if your a fighter they don't have a bag for the public except on the second floor,but that area is restricted for classes only 😔

There was a lady there this afternoon at your check in counter on 12/2 who was very judgmental, displaying all signs of homophobia, and just plain rude. I will not do business here and will not recommend it to any of my friends or family. Do better YMCA!!!

My only complaint about this place is that it's the absolute worse to take your family to go swimming at. The "family lockeroom", if you want to call it that, is a glorified prison cell. It's only got a place to sit. There's no locker, no shower, nothing. It's an empty room with a cement bench, like the Andover Outdoor Lockerrooms but without the restroom with showers around the bend or the locker rooms outside. If it wasn't for living right down the road, I'd go to the North YMCA or similar where they actually have a family locker room. Other than that, the staff I regularly see there are great, the regular members are great. We only really use the pool but I have had mostly positive interactions from everyone there and the negative ones are always someone I never see again, be it staff or members. It's an old building but man I wish whoever designed that building had a little more foreknowledge that families might want to go there and don't want to be adults in the youth locker rooms or youth in the adult locker rooms.

Angie tried to say with a day pass that you can’t leave the gym and come back. If I paid for a whole day then I’m going to use a whole day. Definitely the type to not offer much but want power and control over others to feel better about herself. Post Send: Tell your employees that please. They both said ‘day pass’ and told me it was $10.00.

We live in hutch, and are YMCA was shut down bc we didn’t have enough life guards on duty. And the west YMCA welcomed us with open arms. And the man that was in charge let my Sister and her kids in for free. Bc we traveled an hour from hutch to Wichita. Plus my oldest had a huge crush on one of the life Guards. It was a awesome experience ❤️

I appreciate how clean this ymca is. I see someone vacuuming and wiping equipment down. The members are also good at cleaning up after themselves.

Was denied entrance in the workout facility because I lost my drivers license same day, and had my school ID as an alternative and they still wouldn’t let me workout there. Terrible management.

I play pickleball, wallyball, swim and enjoy the hot tub here. Employees and Y members are mostly friendly and openly social. If you're friendly, you will like it too!

This evening I had the best customer service experience with Eva at the guest desk. Absolutely professional and just a ray of sunshine! Eva thank you for being so polite and empathetic to me when I was taking the first step this evening to start my journey to try and get back to working out after having Covid and not being able to workout. Eva made this decision easy! Thank you again😊

Small but very clean and well organized.

Very nice and genuine people go to this location, I recently lost a ring and someone turned it in! People you don't even know ask how you're doing and say hi. Very good staff and always clean! Love it here!

I've tried several gyms but this one just feels like home. The weight room can be somewhat crowded at peak times, but is nice when it is not too busy. The equipment is almost always in great shape. They have everything I need in a gym. The staff is always super friendly and will go the extra mile. This place is great!

My only real complaint is that they dont have special workout time periods set aside for vaccinated people only. This is sad because i was a member for 12-14 yrs before the pandemic. So they have lost our money for 2 years now. 2 memberships. vaccinated ivacontacted
