👍 A nice place to work out with plenty of room. There's enough equipment to where you aren't waiting for anything. The staff are all very friendly and always greet you when coming in and say bye when you are leaving. The facilities are clean, only complaint is the smells of the locker rooms. People often mention YMCA, staff, front, desk,

The North YMCA is a great place to get fit. On the track upstairs, 11 laps = 1 mile. In addition there are ellipticals, free weights, and machines which focus on specific sections of your body—to try to improve your core areas. Below is a photo of their rock climbing wall which is impressive.

Me and my family and two other family’s were in line for a guest pass and have been standing here for more than 20 minutes in this line, asked to speak to a manager and she said “ that’s just how we are sometimes” I said to her ok is that all I get? For a response ? And she said “ yes” how is that a management conversation. The manager with the burgundy hair that worked in the front desk should be spoken to about how to speak like a manger if she’s gonna be pretending to be one. I understand the position of maybe being short staffed but as a mother she should of explained more to me I feel.

I was impressed with the athletics here and with Kendall, their director of sports. Great communication and ethics at first. Until realizing the lack of ethics that were actually there. You should never mix personal connections with a sports league, giving your “friends” advantage. The YMCA states that their mission is “To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.” But unfortunately this is not carried out. We also have highly experienced players and teams competing against entry level players, taking out the fun in the game of basketball and eliminating the full experience as they are developed and learn the game. The referees are also highly inexperienced and don’t take it seriously either.. eating chips and snacks on the court. Classy. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.

This is a great YMCA location. This YMCA was located near my hotel, it was snowing so I decided to use the indoor track and weights at the YMCA. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, they made navigating the Y and using the facility seamless. The indoor track is well kept and a great place to run or walk. The weight room has a large amount of equipment and well laid out to accommodate any workout routine. I really enjoyed using this facility, and will use it again if I am in the area.

The customer service horrible they stop me and say hey hey. then they said my membership is not update. I did everything I supposed to do. I apply twice I provide the documentation.people who work in Douglas YMCA drop the ball. I talk to the regional director. He said I cannot get in without ID in according to the constitution. You only have to provide ID when you commited to the crime. you have my picture and all the information they stillneed my ID for real? I am a disabled veteran who sell for this country. This is really disrespectful. They treat me like a criminal. I try to smuggle inside of the YMCA.

We paid to use the pool lifeguard was unfriendly and told us we could not use the indoor features such as the mushroom and slide because of swim lessons going on, however there were only two children taking swim lessons and the turned the slide on and off just for them. Too many rules this should be the YM no fun CA.

Update on below: Trey, a representative, reached out and did all this work for me. No need to actually go in, just needed to send something in writing I guess. Communication on this would have been nice from the beginning, but a love a good quick response to remedy the situation. The 30 day notice of cancellation is also and expected thing for a membership of this nature. Great YMCAs. Equipment is good, environment good, and never met a bad staff member. Good work YMCA WAAAAY TOO HARD TO CANCEL and/or freeze the account. Make a button on your website. Instead of forcing your customers to have to go in and explain why they want to cancel. Extremely annoying!

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and the facility is always clean. They are good about posting updates and classes. I enjoy this gym and the layout of the facility, there's so much to do.

Total clown show of a gym. Literally doing jump rope in the free weight section. No staff anywhere. Horrible member attitudes and etiquette. Never again.

My kids have been dancing at the North YMCA for 6 and 7 years, the oldest in the dance company will be with them for 5 years this year. We have liked and even loved each member of the staff they have been fortunate enough to come into contact with. Our current director, Tasha Jones is an amazing choreographer, teacher and leader for this very diverse group of kiddos. Each parent and child feels like a loved member of the team and most of the kids are kind and inclusive. Ask any current member of the team, we love GRIT dance company! (Formerly NYDC)

Good gym but the locker rooms need an update (super old) . Downtown has way better ones and their sauna is inside it. But downtown also has a small parking lot. So pick what you wanna deal with.

    1) front desk !! Extremely poor manners ,unhelpful , unable to provide a solution , careless , racist, unethical,no respect , and they will not provide any customer service unless the manager is around , very extremely rude , the ladies at the front desk need some additional training , 2) The most discusting filthiest locker rooms, shower rooms and bathrooms . In addition to that most of the time a lot of things are broken and not working . 3) not clean at all and the staff is just so rude it's like they have no common sense on how to speak to people in a normal unprovoked way , making things difficult and hard to deal with . So if you want to add drama and problems and desease and skin infection to yourself ,please feel free to visit the N WOODLAWN YMCA. 4) i will discontinue my visit the north Woodlawn YMCA, and I will start pursuing a new gym membership elsewhere where I can be treated with respect and not feeling awkward and unwelcomed by the staff mainly at the front desk ,the front desk staff members are the first thing people see when they walk in through the front door , they did not meet the expectation and they need to be placed under training till they are fit to be in that position ,I am not complaining about the new hires . ....

Been my favorite gym for like 20 years, but for some reason they keep rearranging everything in ways that don’t make sense. They’ve been rearranging for like 3 months

Very clean and well kept gym. Will at the front desk always greets me with a smile in the mornings. Great way to start off my day!

You should be able to try out a gym without having an I.D. This is not an exclusive gym, it’s just like any other gym that multiple random people go to. You aren’t fancy nor for the rich and famous. The gym in my hometown doesn’t even I.D. All you have to do is pay and fee and you are free to go workout. Fix your policy.

We drove from Marion county the day before father's day to give me some Barnacle Bill's nostalgia and give the boys a good time. Checking in realized we needed IDs at a Y, and my wife didn't even know if she had hers with her lol. Luckily we had everything in the car and got back to the desk and got in for some fun, think we even got to witness a lifeguard drill! The front desk looked like a busy place and the staff up there was on point, and special thanks to the lady in the black Avia hat, very gracious.

Nate and Dalton were very helpful while I was trying to get my membership. I used the family locker room and it had a really bad smell and didn’t seem clean at all. Please make efforts for cleaner locker/change rooms. Thanks!
