👍👍 Best Thai food around. The price cannot be beat, the food is phenomenal, loaded with flavor. Love that she has a chart to let you choose your level of spicy. If you haven’t eaten Thai food their spicy 🥵 level is off the charts but u can also opt out. Good fresh food sometimes can take a bit long... People often mention spicy, Thai, good, spice, great, owner, mild, service, time, chicken,

Best Thai food around. The price cannot be beat, the food is phenomenal, loaded with flavor. Love that she has a chart to let you choose your level of spicy. If you haven’t eaten Thai food their spicy 🥵 level is off the charts but u can also opt out. Good fresh food sometimes can take a bit longer than drive thru which she’s pretty good about letting you know your wait time as she is the only cook. Thankful you’re sharing your passion with us.

We went for the 1st time tonight. My husband ordered the Pad See Ew with beef hot. He enjoyed the heat level, but then again we like things spicy. My 11 year old ordered chicken fried rice from the kids menu mild+. He loved it and said he could have even gotten the next level of spicy. I ordered the Chicken Chili Cashew Nut mild to medium. I loved it, although I had asked to have it with tofu instead of chicken and he brought it out being chicken, and apparently not noticing. Chicken and tofu look quite different lol. And never came back to check how everything was. I ate it anyways. I like chicken and it was enjoyable still, I was just in a tofu mood. Other than the chicken/tofu mix up and the waiter being sort of slow and inattentive, everything was great and would have been 5 stars. I think we will go back and try it again sometime.

Super delicious, I got the chili cashew chicken (pictured, togo) and the spring rolls. The sauce for the spring rolls unfortunately spilled in the bag a bit so I didn't get to enjoy that but the rolls are delicious! Glad the host talked me out of medium, he knew what he was talking about the mild medium was the perfect spicy. I just kinda wish there was a little more veg for the chicken. First time trying and definitely will be back for the curry!

When you order, go a few levels down on the level of hot you're use to. She will tell you before ordering too. Mild is good for me and I love spicy food. The favors of the food here are very good and the service is fast. Always enjoy getting takeout from here.

This was our first time eating at The Farmers Daughter and we were very pleased with our choice. I had the rooster and it was great! It had everything breakfast related in it and the flavors were great. The sausage gravy is some of the best I have had. We will be back! The restaurant was also very clean as well as the bathrooms.

Hidden Gem in Galena, MO!! Stopped in for Breakfast and boy were we given a wonderful treat! The food was AMAZING!! Veggie omelet, Spanish omelet, French toast, fried eggs, bacon, grits, home fries and sourdough toast!! We tried it all and were glad we did!! This is also one of the cleanest restaurants we have ever set foot in. Even the restrooms! The lovely decor and warm, friendly staff make you feel right at home!! Can’t wait to go back!!

I LOVE heat in my food. I like spice. They have the HEAT. However, the Pad Thai I had last night was spicy but mostly flavorless. I asked for medium to medium hot, and they delivered the heat as promised. But it lacked flavor to carry that heat. (For the record, I grow and eat my own Carolina reaper peppers and have a wonderful reaper jelly I make every summer, peppers/salt/sugar and pectin) Heat is great and I really enjoy a dish that makes me sweat, but it needs the flavor to carry it, heat and sweat are not enough, I need to want to take that next bite no matter how hot it is. Sadly, all I'm getting is the heat. Well cooked and plated beautifully and I will be going back because it's simple to fix it with a homemade PadThai sauce to add that much needed flavor component.

My friend and I had a long conversation with the owner. She really runs a great restaurant and has phenomenal food. If you want good Thai food this is definitely the place to get it. Service is good here too. Stop bashing on the workers here and feel a sense of entitlement. They're really out here trying their best and it's more than enough.

Loved it. And surprisingly my super picky husband loved it too. He honestly just complains that this town has NOTHING good. But he asked when we would come back to Bann Thai. Spring rolls are tasty. My curry was not the best ever but it hit the spot and tasted really good. My husband's fried rice had tons of flavor and the meat was cooked perfectly. We took it to go and everything was on point. Prices were reasonable and portions were large. Photo of my curry.

I travel quite a bit and try Thai wherever I go. This is one of the best I have had anywhere. I would recommend mild spice if it's your first time here, as I like spicy and mild is still plenty of spice. I plan to come whenever I come to Wichita!

Pay attention to the poster about how much "Thai spice" can be added to your dish and request a little less than you think you can handle. Better to come back and ask for more next time than risk not enjoying such delicious food. "Is the mango sticky rice available?" If the answer is yes, order it for dessert. You're welcome.

I had a meal here and ordered hot. It wasn’t all that bad at hot. Sure it was spicy but not overwhelming hot. I love spicy stuff and will be trying the same thing at Thai Spicy on my next Visit.

Little resteraunt but decent space and plenty of room for dine in...they also have an outdoor seating area for after. Our waitress was kind enough to let us wait outside as we just got off the river and were wet still. Food is priced reasonably and has large portions for the price. Very friendly staff, even the cook came to ask how the food was...we will be returning..especially for those fried pickles!! Thank you again...wish I caught the waitresses name so I could give a shout out.

Bann Thai has been one of our most favorite Thai restaurants in town. We were sad to see them moving out of north east side of town. They know how to really spice up your meals! The food tastes great regardless of how hot you want them to be. This restaurant has a very restricted set of hours of operation, so make sure to check the times on Google maps before heading that way.

This place is amazing! All the food I've tried is great and this one of the few places you can get it as spicy as you could want/handle. In fact, all the negative reviews complaining about it being too spicy was a selling point for me! It did take a few visits for her to make it as hot as I wanted as she really goes out of her way to make sure you know what you're in for and how spicy it can be. If you can't handle spicy at all, might be best not to order here. The ordering can be a little awkward if you're a new customer but she is just one person so give her a few minutes! If you're in that big of a hurry, McD's is right across the corner.

Ok. First of all, the food's fine. I've had better around town, but it's fine and it's priced pretty well. However - I'm never coming back. The waitress/cook was rude, condescending, and just told people what spice level they could/couldn't handle. I've never had service like this, and even if it was the best food I've ever eaten, I would never come back. UPDATE: The owner has since responded and said I was disrespectful. No disrespect was given on our end. We decided to leave after the man and his two children next to us didn't even finish their order before she walked off. She was "out" of everything. She told the man that his about 12-13 year old daughter "can't handle" mild. Interesting how they throw the word "respect" around but can't show it theirselves. Oh, and I ate the curry just fine at the spice level I received. I didn't take it home, nor did I finish eating, since I did not want to be a patron anymore. I paid and left.

My husband has known the owner of this restaurant for over 10 years, and it's always a treat to stop by, say hi, and enjoy the food. The yellow and green curries are the best in town, and the spice levels are great! Always friendly service in a welcoming environment. Everything here is delicious, and definitely worth checking out. Don't hesitate to give it a try.

Absolutely banging Crispy Pork Fried Rice. Literally, the best in town. They don't always have it, so call ahead to check, but it's so absolutely worth it. The hours are weird but I don't care. I would drag my half asleep body out of bed at 3am, climb a mountain, and have a gladiator style battle royale to get this fried rice.

  • 1/5 Reidun B. 3 years ago on Google
Even the mild was very spicy. My husband and I both like spicy food (medium to hot at other places), but we couldn’t even eat our food. The hostess does warn you to go down on your spice level but there is nothing below mild. So if you don’t like a lot of spice, I would choose a different location.

This is the most flavorful place to eat in Wichita. From the Pad prig khing to the Matsuman curry to the spicy seafood fried rice everything is packed with so much flavor. For those who say the owner is rude, keep in mind she runs the whole show by herself and it can either be very slow or very busy. Very worth the longer cook times and everything comes out consistent and always delicious. This place is a true gem and once you get to know the owner she’s awesome! Will always come back!

The food and atmosphere were both enjoyable. The service was quite a bit below average and the health standards seem non-existent. I.e. My husband and I went at 6pm on a Monday evening and no one else was dining in, just a couple of people picked up to-go orders in the time we ate at the resturant. The owner greeted us and was very friendly. We ordered green curry (mild) and fried rice with crispy pork (mild plus). The green curry was sweet and the mild spice was not too much for my weak tolerance of spicy food. The owner later explained that the green curry has more flavor with more spice, she recommended the yellow or matsamun curry for lower spice heats. My husband likes spicy food and loved his fried rice with crispy pork but wished he'd gone with medium since the mild plus wasn't quite enough for him. We also bought a loaf of butterfinger friendship bread and the thai tea and coffee(which I loved!) for a great end to the meal! We will definitely be back to try more things!

I read about this place in the paper and it mentioned their reputation for having some of the spiciest Thai food in Wichita. I absolutely LOVE spicy food, especially spicy Thai food, so I made it a point to check this place out this week. I stopped in around 1:30 & placed a to- go order. I saw a sign in the window that said something about only placing to go orders after 1:30, (it was weirdly worded- like only place to-gos between 1:30 - 1:45? I didn't pay much attention to it since it was after 1:30. This may have been in reference to their lunch specials. ??) They had their lunch specials handwritten on a white board & had another board hanging on the wall that explained their heat levels; which range from mild with 1/4 tsp to Thai Hot with 3 TABLESPOONS of chili paste or whatever they use to spice their dishes. The guy who took my order was super helpful & really nice and explained they recommend people new to the restaurant only order dishes at a medium or less, since their hot is super hot compared to other places. I ordered from the lunch specials & got their Thai Broccoli & Crispy Pork -Thai Hot ($9.95), Spicy Basil Beef from their lunch menu for my husband- medium, & Mango w/Sweet Sticky Rice to cool my mouth off afterwards($5.95). I've been hearing about how spicy this place is for a while & after reading some of their Yelp! reviews, I figured I might as well go all in. The lady (who might have been the owner) was very nice & asked me twice if I was sure I wanted to order it that spicy. Even coming back from the kitchen a 2nd time to ensure I understood how spicy Thai hot would be. (It's written on a white board there are no refunds after you order. Which seems like common sense to me, but I know how people can be.) I assured her that I understood the food would be extremely spicy and that's what I wanted. I could smell the spiciness from the door, wheweee! Poor thang cooking the order was coughing up a storm & I felt bad, cooking spicy food can be hell when you're standing over the stove breathing in those fumes. The employees were courteous and it took about 10 min or so to cook our orders fresh. Food was excellent! It was cooked perfectly and even though my food was spicy it still had really good flavor to it. I really enjoyed my dish and my husband's was tasty too. He thought even the medium had a little spice to it which he liked. The pork was a little fatty, but it's pork. In the future I'd rather order another form of protein be it: Beef, chicken, or even fish. They had several fish options which I was glad to see. And the serving size was huge. There was enough food for at least 2, maybe even 3 meals for me. I was disappointed you don't get the egg roll that comes with the lunch specials on to-gos. I understand not doing soups or even salads on Togo orders, but no egg rolls, Sad! That's okay though, our food was great and I love having a place I can now go when I'm craving spicy food; that's actually spicy! My love for spicy food means my gauge on how spicy food is, is much different from most people. Typically people say something is super hot and to me, it's not. This place is actually spicy and I love that. I'll gladly be back. Update: After the response from the owner I now know why my order didn't come with an egg roll, dinner portions don't come with them. That's cool, she's right about the amount of food, their servings are huge! We had enough food left over for another meal(for me even 2 meals). I'd give this place a 5 but I've only tried 1 thing from here so far, so I'll gladly be back.

Amazing food! My boyfriend and I were the only ones there so go show her some love! She’s a one woman show and brings her chilis straight from Thailand. We got the pad Thai and a mild+ (comfortably spicy for those who like a little kick) and the pad se ew at a medium hot (hot enough for my boyfriend who enjoys a true spice) and they did not disappoint. Given her small place sometimes she runs out of stuff fast so call ahead to check if she has the dish you’d like. Just extraordinary flavors, definitely will be back!

Some of the best food in town, literally. Thai food gets pretty spicy, pretty quickly. Someone once told me "...thai food is spicy when your ears ring." As a lover of spicy food this is one of favorites; that being said, they have lots of options and is one of the only authentic thai food restaraunts in Wichita.

How is this place still open? I was there over 2 years ago and it was the worst Thai food I’ve ever eaten that was made by a real Thai (poster, probably not real Thai) cook/owner. I’ve NOT been back and WILL NOT ever plan to. I ordered pad kee mao and it was a stir fried and NOT with noodles at all, and served with old looking rice that was so obviously microwaved. I told the server this is NOT pad kee mao and the cook/owner came out all defensive and argued with me. She said I don’t know anything and that pad kee mao is NOT a noodle dish, hence translation of pad kee mao is DRUNKEN NOODLES, LADY! I was born in Laos and migrated to Thailand before I came to the U.S. I know Thai food, and Thai food is similar to Lao food, what is wrong with you, lady? I’m here to support you and you argue with me? The nerve to tell me I don’t know what pad kee mao is? I still remember clearly how defensive she reacted, never in my life I had experience this (I’m giggling). I was browsing around and happened to see that this restaurant is still open which I cannot believe! NOW, I see her online menu pad kee mao is a noodle dish, OMG, really lady? Her gourmet dishes are served on paper plates! Her food are same price as Thai Village, but Thai Village have better class and served on real plates and utensils AND they are nice and friendly! Thai Village food is 100% more authentic than Bann Thai. She’s rude, rude, rude and nasty! Take my advice - DON’T EAT at Bann Thai in Wichita. I am not affiliated to Thai Village in Wichita but I recommend this 100 times. You’re Welcome! By the way, if I can rate 0, which i can’t…it’s a 0 and below!
