My
daughter
has
seen
the
PA
Stacy
Wagner
on
two
occasions.
The
first
visit
was
encouraging.
My
daughter
felt
she
was
finally
going
to
get
help
with
her
pain
and
suffering
due
to
her
autoimmune
diseases.
We
both
finally
had
hope!
We
then
had
my
daughter’s
yearly
check-up
at
Mayo
Clinic
in
Rochester,
MN
with
her
gastro
and
were
also
able
to
work
in
an
appointment
with
a
rheumatologist
PA
there.
After
multiple
tests,
rheumatologist
PA
gave
us
her
diagnosis
and
directed
my
daughter
to
follow
up
with
her
Wichita
rheumatologist
when
we
returned
home
for
follow-up
care.
Her
pain
is
off
the
charts.
Emotional
breakdowns
with
the
extreme
full
body
pain
leaves
her
wondering
if
life
is
worth
living-so
our
second
appointment
was
scheduled
per
Mayo
directive.
The
first
question
this
Wichita
PA
asked
was,
“What
is
your
pain
level?”
My
daughter
replied,
“a
10
most
of
the
time
right
now
which
is
affecting
my
quality
of
life
and
my
ability
to
sleep.”
This
PA
replied,
“well
just
to
let
you
know,
a
woman
giving
birth
and
with
a
pain
level
of
8
cannot
walk
or
talk.”
Really?
So
basically
she
was
inferring
that
my
daughter’s
pain
was
not
the
level
she
was
claiming.
She
was
implying
that
her
pain
could
not
be
as
bad
as
she
was
describing.
Excuse
me!
Have
you
ever
suffered
fibromyalgia
and
celiac
disease
and
Raynaud’s
and
peripheral
neuropathy,
and
pernicious
anemia,
and
chronic
pain
syndrome,
and
slow
digestion
issues
requiring
meds
that
make
you
sick,
and
SIBO,
severe
migraines,
chronic
sinus
infection,
and
Cushing’s
syndrome-all
resulting
in
five
trips
to
Mayo
Clinic?
In
addition,
I
don’t
believe
her
statistic
about
pain
level
of
8
during
labor
in
childbirth
causing
a
woman
to
be
unable
to
walk
or
talk!
I
have
given
birth
to
two
children.
The
kicker
is
that
this
PA
is
aware
that
my
daughter
is
very
likely
unable
to
have
children
because
of
her
health
issues.
It
is
a
very
upsetting
topic
for
my
daughter.
So
why
would
she
bring
up
childbirth
to
a
woman
who
can’t
have
children?
Cruel!
She
proceeded
to
tell
her
that
there
is
nothing
she
can
do
to
relieve
her
of
her
pain.
No
medication
for
fibro.
My
daughter
knows
her
body
well.
Her
Mayo
gastroenterologist
will
support
this.
She
feels
there
is
something
else
going
on.
This
pain
is
different
from
her
fibro
pain.
Unfortunately,
at
this
time,
they
have
no
other
diagnosis.
I
asked
for
pain
med.
nope.
I
should
have
asked
for
a
diladon
shot
or
physical
therapy.
We
will
ask
for
that
at
her
next
appointment
in
Nov.
Her
Beta
blood
work
tested
positive
for
the
second
time,
so
what
does
this
mean?
Surely
it
tells
them
something.
After
her
comment
questioning
my
daughter’s
level
of
pain,
we
both
shut
down.
We
just
sat
there
while
the
PA
continued
explaining
there
was
nothing
she
could
do
to
help
her.
We
both
were
in
tears
so
she
did
eventually
increase
one
of
her
meds.
Then
the
dr
came
in
and
he
was
equally
cold
and
obviously
considered
it
ridiculous
that
she
was
in
his
office
after
just
returning
from
Mayo.
Excuse
me!
But
we
were
there
at
the
direction
of
our
Mayo
rheumatologist
who
was
also
a
PA.
We
were
worked
into
their
schedule
at
Mayo
for
a
rheumatology
appointment
so
we
didn’t
get
to
see
a
doctor.
I
am
done
seeing
PA’s
when
her
health
issues
are
so
complicated
and
complex!
It
is
frustrating
beyond
frustrating
to
have
serious
health
issues
and
severe
chronic
pain
which
is
debilitating
and
affects
one’s
sleep
and
quality
of
life
at
such
a
young
age
and
be
seen
by
a
PA
and
a
doctor
that
blow
it
off.
I
wish
I
could
take
all
of
my
daughter’s
health
issues
so
that
she
could
enjoy
life
again.
I
would
like
to
change
drs
but
I
know
this
is
unethical
within
a
medical
practice.
It
is
heartbreaking
not
to
be
able
to
get
help
for
my
daughter
and
to
watch
her
cry
with
pain.
If
anyone
has
any
suggestions,
I
am
open
to
help.
We
have
massage
equipment,
an
old
hot
tub,
a
ten’s
unit,
bio-freeze,
multiple
hot
baths
day
and
night,
massages
by
a
masseuse,
a
water
table
at
a
workout
gym,
exercise
daily,
ER
for
pain
shots,
etc.
I
don’t
know
what
else
to
try!
