I joined VASA in October of 2019 after being a member of another health club since 2006, and was very happy. After the ownership changed to Genesis a few months ago everything remained the same for the most part. A good friend who was a former member of Genesis mentioned to me to pay attention to the cleanliness or lack thereof. Well sure enough it's getting pretty bad. So I guess if you don't mind a not very clean gym you'll like it, me not so much. 👎

Absolute sham of a gym. They took me to the cleaners at every opportunity possible I paid somewhere around 300 dollars to leave the gym after they put me on a yearly plan I didn’t want to be on. When I tired to get in contact with customer service they just told me to talk to the manager who was the one who had goofed this up in the first place. Don’t go here I’m sure others have had fine experiences but I personally got absolutely wrecked by their policies and tactics.

This location just closed down permanently. This place was nice ONLY bc it used to be Vasa. Everything about it relating to Genesis and the Steven brothers made it not good. Genesis is a joke. No hot water in ladies room , red light machine doesn’t work , people leaving their weights everywhere and on machines. Billing issues…. No one he surprised with that. We know who owns the gym.

No towels at this gym. There's also no tissues nor paper towels anywhere in the gym most times, so when you need to blow your nose or wipe sweat out of your eyes, you have to go to the restroom and get toilet paper. On a positive note, the gym has some great group fitness classes with an awesome instructor, Paul. The facility and the equipment are also in great condition.

I’ve been working out here for 3 years now since before they were bought out by genesis and always enjoyed it until now. So many machines are constantly broken or unsafe to use because they aren’t maintained, the soap descenders in the women’s rooms haven’t worked for at least a month or so now. Genesis is suppose to be so nice and charges people so much to use their gyms and they can’t even provide basic maintenance. You have to walk across the gym just to get a towelette to wipe your machine down with because they don’t keep them stalked towards the last half of the day. So disappointing.

Very sad to seem em close one of the best gyms I’ve been to when vasa where’s there also. Staff always nice I’ve felt very welcomed. Big, spacious just very disappointed to see them go. It was a great gym. Hopefully it can be fixed and they come back cause that was my second home.

I called your location Regarding the steam room that has been broken for a week. I was being helped by Joseph. He was very rude and offered no help. He had a lot of excuses And offered no Suggestions or solutions. Joseph ended by hanging up the phone call. This is unprofessional And poor customer service!!!!!!

Update May 23, 2023: This has gotten worse, not better. There's enough grime on the floor in the men's locker room that another member decided to write a message to the staff which has been ignored for the last several days (at least). On top of that, the showers (the five that are still working) have been cold for going on three weeks. *** Original review: The cleanliness of the club has gone WAY downhill since Genesis bought out this location. The showers, fountains, toilets, sinks, and common areas seem like they go days at a time without even a wipe down. Vasa always did a decent job with daily cleaning. Genesis doesn't seem to have the same standards. The main reason I keep coming is my membership dues haven't gone up. Yet.

It’s almost a month now steam is not working… I talked with both manager, asist manager & the front desk people but didn’t work at all, I kept my membership here for steam room only, Please do take care of steam room. Otherwise I have cancel my membership here

While I preferred this location as VASA, the facility and equipment is still pretty awesome. Im just not a huge fan of the Genesis atmosphere as much

It's a clean gym, all the equipments are in good condition. Have been attending Paul's studio red session since few months and it's was amazing. And see noticeable changes on my body. Would love to get trained under him further.

This place is great! Love the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, and recovery area. Maybe a little lazy, but nice to relax after a hard workout. Weight room is huge and lots of light and airflow. Love this gym!

Nice friendly staff. I used cardio equipment and pool all the time. Although the membership is high, you can compensate it with proper use of all facilities there.

One of the largest and nicest gyms in Wichita. Has a open floor plan with lots of free weights and machines. The movie theatre cardio room is cool.

Honestly at first I didn’t like it because it’s very different from genesis. But I’ve been to this location a few times because they stay open later and open earlier than the actual genesis locations! Ahem! 👀 the old hours would be better genesis! Don’t know why y’all shorted everything. But yeah I really am starting to enjoy this location and the variety of machines, I’m glad they have plenty of cable machines as well! I used to say it’s like planet fitness but honestly it’s much better than PF, it’s like an upgraded version of it with the intent to push fitness. 💪🏼

The gym is clean and neat. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable . I like the swimming pool and the personal trainer experience. I like dealing with Dillan Watkins he is polite and knowledgeable in his field and he helped me personally in changing my lifestyle. The only reason why 4 stars is because of the Music and no in body scan. The in body scaner is important for monitoring progress. Worth the money.

Worked Here Since the doors opened with VASA... and since the acquisition, the gym has run smoother than ever, employment here has been a night and day difference in the overall environment for the better. Equipment and studios have stayed the exact same as VASA. Nicest and newest gym in the entire city of Wichita to workout at!! You'll love it here! Beautiful gym!

It's the best place to workout in wichita. It is having the best equipment and good atmosphere. I've been to multiple gyms in Wichita, but Genesis at Woodlawn is the best of all of them.

This club is rarely cleaned, the showers are usually filthy and the tv in the sauna never runs. Also always see broke. equipment. The the worst problem is definitely the locker rooms and the showers.

We cancelled our account 6 months ago and they're still charging our debit card. We triple checked and confirmed with them that we'd be cancelled. They just want your money.

As a young man I was looking for gym that was lowkey and quiet and Genesis is the spot. There are no kids running around and they have a bunch of variety when it comes to machines and squat racks. Something is always available to work on! Highly recommend joining

Lots of equipment in decent shape. Bathrooms and showers are disgusting. I’m here daily and it’s very obvious showers have not been cleaned in 2 weeks or longer. Hair, fluids, and mold/mildew. Toilets don’t flush correctly. All the equipment you want but place is pretty gross

I enjoy my membership with Genesis. They have late hours on the weekdays, many classes to attend, and lots of equipment. It does get busy after work hours, so I go later in the evening. I like that there's a pool and they have nice showers and lockers.

I was previously a Vasa member at this location, and like most people who stuck with Genesis, I was a little worried about the transition, so far, I’ve been pleasantly surprised and have overall been happy with the transition. There’s really only been 2 issues I’ve had and both were issues I had when Vasa was around. The first is the disorganization of many of the free weights. I know this is mostly on other gym members but still a little irritating. The second is there are times that it is difficult to find a dispenser for sanitizing wipes that isn’t empty. Like I said, both were issues when Vasa was running this location but they are still issues.
