One room brick building which was moved form its original location and is now on Wichita State University campus. Open to the public. Museum inside includes Pizza Hut memorabilia, nostalgic restaurant table and chandelier, and info plaques. Worth stopping by even if it's closed or after hours since you can see a lot of it through the windows.

Unique little museum (in the original building store but it has been moved onto the university campus) with not just artifacts but the entire history, videos of old commercials, rare collectibles, etc. They pack a lot in this small building. And it's free to see right on the college campus Mon - Fri! Worth the stop. Do NOT miss the rare sneakers (only 700 pairs made) that allow you to order pizza from the tongue in the shoe!

Brings back a lot of memories. Museum has a fair amount of information about how the company started and grew into a success. We spent about 40 minutes reading all the exhibits.

I actually had a Pizza from the original building in late Summer of 1958. Didn't eat inside, but I remember the parking lot was gravel. Sometime in the early 60s, they opened a location diagonally from the University campus (near the President's house). It was NOT in a classic 'hut', but on the 2nd floor of an office building. I ate there a number of times because they featured a folk singer some nights. (Larry Kiefer). This building which is now a museum was first moved to just inside the Univ. gates off of 17th street, and served as an office building for one of the school's functions.. (perhaps speech??) I now live on the east coast, and am in my 80s, so will not be able to visit.

It was supposed to be open 8-5 but the doors were locked at 11 am. Take the virtual tour instead.

Cute little museum dedicated to Pizza Hut on the Wichita State campus. Parking for visitors close by. Only takes a few minutes to get through. Some sound and video clips, photos, and memorabilia. Free.

I am glad that I finally stopped by. There are some great Pizza Hut artifacts inside. From the original schedule to some of the pop culture icons that were making the Pizza Hut commercials you remember as a kid. Neat place. The only things missing was a jukebox and a cocktail version of Galaga.

Pretty darn neat place but it was very disappointing seeing that there are NO weekend hours at all.But I would still recommend checking it out as you can peek into the windows to see the inside of the building.

First off this is NOT the original site nor the orginal restaurant. It sits across from WSU baseball field. Inside this 12 X 10 room is a great history of the two brothers who started Pizza Hut. It was in the upper 80's the day we went in and there is no a/c inside...very uncomfortable. But it was free and I'm glad we stopped by.

This is a cute memorial to the original pizza hut. It has memorabilia and video/audio kiosks. Even small kids would probably like, but don't expect it to take very long. Maybe a half hour. Pretty amazing that such a large national chain got is start in such a small building.

As a big fan of Pizza Hut, I had to stop by. It was good, and I don't regret going, but it's a little disappointing.

In Wichita, Kansas now and my first stop is at the Pizza Hut museum. This is the actual building of the first pizza hut! It started in Wichita and began from 2 students that went to Wichita state university. Alot of memorabilia from the classic days that I remember when the pan pizza first came out and they had a salad bar too. Red plastic tumblers etc etc. Fyi: White castle began in Wichita too.....

Fun little exhibit showcasing the start and growth of the Pizza Hut franchise. Fun to see the progression of the logo and the old merchandise and commercials through the years.

We showed up at 4 on a Wednesday and it was closed. 2 other people were there, and they had tried to call the number, but no one answered. You could see some of the stuff through the windows. Parking is confusing since it's mostly school parking and says you need to have a permit. It's small, and I can't imagine that you'd spend more than 30 minutes inside but I'm not sure.

It's nice to see an old Catholic family start up one of the most popular pizza chains in the world... and in the very state that doesn't get much recognition (accept for the place of Dorothy & Toto.)

Free, strangely comprehensive, and well-curated by WSU students. The reflections wall is worth reading!

It's small but a fun, educational little place. It's easy to miss, so look for the sign. It's free, and doesn't take long to explore. If you're in the area it's a nice stop on your journey.
