Hands down the best bar in Wichita and probably the best bar I’ve been to! The atmosphere is perfect, you feel like you’re in a little tiki bar in Hawaii! Each drink is hand made and it’s worth the wait! The service is always great too! This place is such an amazing hidden gem!

This tiki-themed bar lounge is super cute-you really do feel like you’re in a beach bar instead of the middle of Kansas! It is nice that they require reservations so it was not over crowded. Our server was timely, helpful, and knew the menu well. Also it is a very clean place-which is unfortunately not all that common for bars! My only advice for the owners would be to put hooks in the unisex bathrooms-there is no place to set purses, coats, etc. while using the restrooms!

This bar is one of the best hidden gems in Wichita. I love it. I cannot say enough good things about it. Reservation are requested for larger parties. Limited seating at the bar. Go! It is worth the trip! It has the best atmosphere ever! You feel transported! Definitely like you are not in Kansas anymore, Toto! Buy one of their drinks in a pineapple with a shot of extra rum. You won't be sorry. *NOTE-There are certain drinks with serving limits due to strength. They are not playing. These little Tiki gods will show you their fire.* There are also pizzas & a mixed snack box available as food.

Great atmosphere and yummy 😋 tropical drinks 🍹 Flaming 🔥cocktail was fun 🤩 Went at 4 pm on a Saturday with an infant in tow and the lighting and ambiance was perfect. Would be accommodating for a child with sensory issues as well 😌

Establishment is clean and nicely decorated. After your eyes adjust to the dark as you walk in, you’ll find a cool relaxed environment that has a smell reminiscent of Hawaii. Staff is friendly, helpful and sociable. Drinks are a little more expensive but they have all been delicious so far. Will return again and recommend to others!

Great presentation and ambiance. Only downside was the pizza machine was down for the day.. Love love love the decor!

We've been here a few times and the drinks and service have always been great. We had reservations last week for a large group, celebrating my wife's birthday. We had a slight hold up and arrived about 45 minutes late. The staff was understanding and accommodated us. Everyone had a great time, the drinks were great and served quickly. I highly recommend the Malaysian Pitbull. The Pain Killer is also good.

Drinks were good. The ambiance was really good. Need better snacks. They offer pizza, but not much else. Spicy peanuts, jerk seasoned plantain chips, edamame would make great additions.

Had to try the tiki bar theme and add it to the books. Cool idea and concept! But just not visually overwhelmed or attracted to what the place has to offer... I like the shadows and dark theme but its to dark Inside cant really feel the vibe when its dark and gloomy. Lil lights hung up around were neat and again theme was cool just felt they could of done something to bring more a party beach tiki Hawaii vibe in. Like up beat better music playing light the bar up to attract not to feel depressed. Drinks were good and new to my taste buds but even they could of been upstaged a bit to get more of my attention. Bartender just seemed mediocre to me and the Mrs. We won't be back unless it somehow catches our attention in the future!

Bar is nicely decorated. No games just drinks. I ordered the shark bite and it was good but not great. It was also $16! Yikes this is not Huntington Beach. Overall nicely decorated but nothing special. Service was mediocre it's a slow night tonight and bartender did not entertain. It was our firsts night and no recommendations over did even check if we liked our drinks.

This is exactly what wichita needs. As someone who has been to the islands ( Hawaii ) many times. Lava & tonic has captured the island feel in a way that make this a place feel like a get away. Even if it is only for a few hours... This is a must try.

We went for date night and had the place to ourselves (disclaimer: we went on a weeknight, earlier in the evening - I'm sure it gets busier later on and on the weekends). I had a Singapore Sling, and it was fantastic! I can't remember which one my husband ordered, but he really liked it. The bartender was friendly and mixed our drinks quickly. Will definitely visit again sometime!

I absolutely love this place. The set up and the atmosphere is unlike anything around town. You will need a reservation unless they have seats available at the bar. The drinks are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. They are elaborate and most of them are good.

Great little tucked away spot in the heart of Wichita! It’s nice, cozy, romantic and dark, ya know… like a good bar should be. Drinks are always delicious, I have to be careful because I drink them too fast! I always have great attentive service. I hope this place remains a Wichita gem. Pro tip: can’t go wrong with the painkiller!

This dark kitchy little bar is all about atmosphere and ambience. Well done decor makes it a fun place. Drinks are all served in classic fun tiki glasses. The beverages we had were refreshing and delicious.

Lava & Tonic...OMG! This is EASILY the BEST BAR in Wichita! I LOVE it! From the second you walk in, you literally feel like you are NOT in Kansas anymore! You are transported far away! The atmosphere is PHENOMENAL! Make reservations! They have tables for two. They have cabana areas for groups. There are seats available at the bar. There is a lounge area. The drinks are STRONG as well as beautiful! I was buzzed of one drink & pretty toasty after 3. The Pina Colada in the frozen pineapple is my favorite! It is a must have. Also, the Teak 9 is another go to. I haven't braved the Zombie yet. The staff is wonderful! I now consider this bar one of the best kept secrets in Wichita. I will definitely be going back when I need an oasis of escape!

I LOVE this vibe! Look, I like having cocktails and drinks out, BUT I hate the bar scene. I’m looking for chill, vibey, and for sure QUALITY drinks. I love everything about this place. Would I love more food options, sure…but not every location is looking to be your dinner spot. I love this spot for drinks AFTER dinner. Decor is spot on and I’ve never had an unpleasant server. Bonus: not filled with Dbags.🤌🏼Now, let’s celebrate that.👏🏼

Drinks are awesome and the set up is awesome. For someone who doesn’t like typical bars but wants to have a good personable time this is the place. 👍

Ambiance and atmosphere, drink selection adventure (Dalton is the BEST bartender), so many things to see find and count; the tiny monkeys on a green tree. Dry ice fog in red room with shrunken heads and skulls, hanging baskets stretched to different shapes and sizes on festive colored lights. Skull in old divers helmet, booths with art and cool roofs like little huts, something cool everywhere you look. Just impressive and fun!!! Highly recommend! Located just west next to Donut Hole. No big signs, must look for it carefully, info discreetly on door. Parking in lot east of Donut Hole. Reservations available. Thrilled to have something so wonderful in Wichita! Take a friend, go for date night or just stop in for the experience!
