This place is my FAVORITE BBQ in Wichita. The staff are always friendly and in a good mood. The restaurant is always super clean. The food is always amazing! My favorite is the Atomic Spud, but occasionally I'll branch out and get the Weekly Special. The last one I got was a BBQ Nacho Plate and it was SO good!

Took a chance on this place and I’m glad I did!! The ribs (1/2 rack) were smoked and seasoned to perfection. Perfect amount of tug, truly a great experience. Then we move to the 1/2lb. of moist brisket. Unreal. Melt in your mouth, smoked awesomeness. I’ve been to Memphis, KC, Texas, North Carolina….etc. This Mom and Pop vibe place is a gem. Easily top 5 brisket I’ve had. This place is wonderful and I’ll be back when I’m in Wichita again. HIGHLY recommend.

This place lives up to the hype of the other reviews I read that brought me here. Got the special of the week, "the burnt ends", basically the end pieces of the brisket put on a couple of pieces of bread, drenched in their delicious bbq sauce with a side of sliced pickles. one it was sleepovers to my table I looked down I wondered who ate my sandwich. Only to look at my hands that resembled a wild animal that just makes a calf. It was so good the thing was just gone before I realized it but so filling I was satisfied. The people working their are so nice and helpful too, this is the go to bbq place in Wichita. Just a good vibe place with delicious food. Unless you're a horrible human being out a vegan, you should live this place too.

Want the best BBQ around for your wedding? Choose When Pigs Fly. The fact that they are affordable and the nicest people around just make the deal even better. When we were planning our wedding, we knew we would have a lot of out-of-town guests so we wanted them to experience amazing midwest BBQ. Our searching led us to When Pigs Fly. We met with Brian and Kendra (the owner's) for our tasting and they sat with us for over an hour telling us about themselves, what brought them to start their business, their experience with weddings, and ultimately how they will go above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was flawless. Everything they told us held true. They tailored the menu to exactly what we wanted. They traveled over 2 hours to our venue and the food tasted so good you would have thought it just got done. It was amazing! We got so many compliments, not only on the food but also on how wonderful Brian was! He was fantastic with all our guests. He brought the wedding party waters while we were busy with photos. Brian and Kendra started as our caterers but after the wedding, we consider them friends.

When one of you is vegetarian and the other one isn't, nice to find a place you can have it all! Friendly people, great food, really clean restaurant, and the prices were reasonable. We'll be back!

After having been completely disappointed by Hog Wild and Two Brothers I came back to When Pigs Fly. The quality of the meat is incomparable to the 2 previously mentioned places. I got twice the amount of meat for way less and left feeling full and satisfied.

GREAT BBQ!! Drove from Oklahoma, nice little day trip. Absolutely the best bbq we’ve had since we moved from Texas to Oklahoma a few years ago. Will make the trip again.

A place that is consistently good, great food and great people. My FAVORITE BBQ place no question. NO ONE has better baked beans either. I got the two meat dinner (pulled pork, smoked turkey, baked beans and potato salad and rye bread) and added a hot link. Soo good..I drive clear across town to get it (I'm an East sider, lol).

We ordered a Smoked Turkey for Thanksgiving and it was soo good. The entire experience, from ordering over the phone, to picking it up, to heating and eating it on, Thanksgiving day, was so professional and efficient. The reheating instructions were clear and concise. We will be ordering again for Christmas‼️

The brisket was really good. One of the best brisket in Wichita! Ribs, not so much. Ribs lacked meat. Just seemed like there wasn't much meat there. Potatoe salad and slaw were okay, nothing special. But that brisket was amazing!

When Pigs Fly! went above & beyond in making sure I was able to treat my staff to a holiday get together with great food. They roasted turkeys for our event, despite it being after their planned pre-order dates, & even delivered them to us. The turkeys were delicious. They take GREAT CARE of their guests & their food is just as great!

Just the other day I told someone we did not have good BBQ in Wichita. Well, that all changed after eating here. Food was delicious. Guy at the counter was very nice. I am definitely going back to try the potato soup. People had it, it looked delicious, but cannot bring myself to eat soup when it is 95 out. When a place has good food and good service these days, that is Exceptional!!!!

We went for lunch on a weekday and was worried with our limited time and the amount of people in front of us, but the service was fast and friendly. We got our order in and only waited a few minutes to receive it. I had a pork sandwich that was very tender and delicious. My lunch partner had turkey and pork which was also yummy. I tried their cream corn and would definitely recommend it. I tasted the potato salad too and it was very flavorful. We will definitely be back and I'm bringing a bigger appetite this time because everything I seen them bring to tables smelled and looked awesome and I want to try them all.

I'm giving it 5 starts.......BUT...... Ever since I had a chef friend/neighbor show me how to make a good brisket, I've never found one better than what I can makeat home, and I absolutely despise paying restaurant prices for a brisket that I don't feel is as good as what I can make at home. So, having said that, I'll still give this 5 stars for making a pretty good brisket. We flew in to visit family. I've eaten at this location a couple times. Last time I got a meat sampler with sausage, brisket and other stuff. We all just got the brisket on this trip and shared it. I wouldn't mind a spicier BBQ sauce though. Maybe there was some at a different table, but I didn't see any at our tables. The rye bread was tasty, and the ribs my nephew got looked pretty tasty as well, but I was already stuffed by the time he said he had extra. It's a pretty average price for BBQ, and definitely worth a stop........unless my neighbor teaches you how to smoke a perfect brisket. ;).

TLDR - bottom line: a must try experience for catering and dining! If you're looking for family dining atmosphere with great food, this is the place. They catered our wedding reception seven years ago and their quality is top notch, never wavering in the time I've been patron to them. Just went in for another visit recently and in a time that nothing is as good as it used to be, this place is the exception with their exceptional offerings. I couldn't say enough good things about their service, and couldn't recommend their pulled pork strongly enough. My husband and I got the pulled pork giant spuds and they were huge and worth every penny!! The outside looks a little humble as well as the location but it's super clean and stand up place inside. You will be missing out if you pass them by. My only negative is that they play religious music on the restaurant sound system, I'd prefer to keep religion out of my dining experience but it's quiet enough that it allows for conversation to distract away from it. (..If we could meet in the middle with some oldies or something I would give atmosphere rating that final star! Otherwise, keep doing what you're doing! You're amazing!)

I love more than the food. The people behind the counter and what they stand for. I am proud to support a wonderful local restaurant. I always order the special and have never gone wrong

I love bringing my mom here! The food is awesome, though I really wish they would make macaroni and cheese available as a side for adults again! It’s kinda pricey, but you get what you pay for and good ‘Q is nothing to cheap out on. Best of all, they allow concealed carry.

This place is really good. We stopped here on our way back home to Oklahoma and enjoyed every minute. We came as a large group and they were so accommodating. I believe the owners were there during our visit and it shows they really enjoy what they do and strive to offer great food and service. We're a bit hard to please when it comes to barbecue and if chain restaurants and bland food is what you like this is NOT the restaurant for you. The food was flavorful and most importantly smokey!!!! Barbecue IS SUPPOSED TO BE FULL OF SMOKE FLAVOR and this barbecue is!! Thank you for excellent service, delicious food and accommodating our large party. You'll probably see us at least once a year on our way home, this will be one of our detours. ⭐️
