'Africa, here I come!' Haha, what a nice and quiet restaurant. Some patrons have ordered the coffee the second time. Long Macchiato has a strong body, a bit creamy, aromatic, slightly bitter and a bit acidic. A friendly patron told me he liked the African's Bunny Chow here and I should try it. Yes, next time when I return.

Great little find in an odd location… easy on google maps. Little South African supermarket/liquor store with a cute little cafe at the back. We had the bunny chew which was a lamb curry served in cut out qtr loaf of bread… was tasty, meat was generous and Russian sausage with chips which was nice. Food was eaten take away so I am being nice as it sat for 15mins before eating. I reckon eaten there or quicker would of kept food better. We will try again! Loved looking through the SA products. Gained a star there!!

This place is elite and has a great selection of wines too in their bottle shop. The bunny chow and lamb curry in fried bread was a highlight. I literally missed my first born take his first steps while I was here and frankly I’m not sure I regret not being there for it. 10/10

Brilliant place for South African cuisine. The menu has many items, staff are incredibly friendly as well. Both savoury and sweet items are worth trying! They have a selection of biltong which is one of the best in Perth, and many wines and groceries which are sure to please you if you’re in the market for it. Easy to find, easy to park - highly recommend!

Being an ex-Rhodesian and South African it was such an awesome way to have a little taste of Africa right here in our new land 15 years In Western Australia. Its great to hear people with our own accents and to be able to buy grocery and liquor from the land in which we were raised. The staff including the owners went above and beyond opening a bottle of wine from the shop for me because I enjoy a sweet wine. The food was great too. We will definitely return.

For years now this hidden gem in Willetton has been my regular breakfast and lunch spot. The vibe is a family owned cafe/south african shop. The steaks and sausage selection is incredible and you can choose a steak from the fridge and have it cooked while you socialise with friends and family. I have not had a single sub par experience here and will recommend to anyone who is passing the area.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) Our recent visit to Kalahari - A Taste of Africa in Willetton, Perth was nothing short of extraordinary! As a group of eight colleagues celebrating our end-of-year lunch, we were treated to a unique and delightful experience that left us raving about this hidden gem. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the "choose your own steak" concept, allowing us to handpick our favorite cuts from the fridge, and watching as the skilled chefs transformed them into mouthwatering masterpieces. The personalized touch to our meals made the dining experience both interactive and memorable. The ambiance at Kalahari is warm, inviting, and exudes a cozy charm. It provided the perfect backdrop for our gathering, creating an atmosphere where we could relax, unwind, and savor the delicious flavors of African cuisine. The attentive and friendly staff added to the overall positive vibe, making us feel right at home. Beyond the delightful main courses, the coffee at Kalahari deserves a special mention. Served with care and precision, it was the perfect accompaniment to our hearty meal. The attention to detail in every aspect of our dining experience, from the food to the service, truly sets Kalahari apart. For those looking to bring a taste of Africa into their own kitchens, Kalahari offers a unique selection of African spices and dried meats. We couldn't resist taking some home to continue the culinary adventure at our own dinner tables. In conclusion, Kalahari - A Taste of Africa is more than just a restaurant; it's an immersive culinary journey. I was shown this place by a South African family. They said it was the closest thing to being back home. This shop is family run with love and passion for the African culture. The variety of food and the friendly staff always make for a good experience. I always come back for the dried meats as it’s the best in Perth

We are so glad we came across this gem. The food and service were of high standard and we enjoyed it. We had steak (which we chose from the fridge), lamb curry and Russian & chips. All cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back 😊
