We brought some lunch to have a picnic here since it was a nice day. We ate near the water playground area just by the grassy bank. The park was quite large and fairly busy, particularly the playground. I enjoyed walking along the two lakes of the park, watching the birds swimming about as well as people watching for a bit. There were also a few information boards around the park talking about the history or the animals in the park. It was nice to wander around and rest on grassy patches or benches when required. It was a nice park to visit with nice views and quite a nice atmosphere of everyone enjoying themselves. Definitely worth bringing things over for a picnic.

I pay my respects to the Nungaar people and their elders past present and future, as the traditional custodians of this country. This is fantastic park is an absolute gem with a rich history for the traditional people of the area as well as the European settlers. An insane amount of work went to ensure it stays a pristine refuge for a myriad of water fowl. It’s a great place to bring kids to play, take your pooch for a walk, have a family fun day even wedding. It has been the inspiration for many a painting so the artsy people will adore the scenery, especially the very old trees. They have gazebos for groups, public toilets and a playground. The park also has exercise machines for the older members of society so also a great place for seniors.

Beautiful park to visit if you’re in the neighborhood. It has two small lakes surrounded by Plane trees and is a peaceful place to walk, picnic, or just relax. I spent about an hour here, which seemed to be the right amount of time. It’s also easily accessible by public transportation and close enough that you can walk directly to the CBD. I don’t think I’d make a special trip just to visit this park, but it’s def worth visiting if you’re nearby and looking for something to do.

A beautiful place to visit at any time of the year. The park changes scenery with the seasons. The two lakes are surrounded by deciduous trees, so in spring and summer, the leaves are vibrant green, in autumn they go red and start to fall and in winter you notice the other beauties of the place. There is an abundance of waterbirds and you see their babies in the spring. Plenty of benches surround the lakes. A popular wedding photo spot. There are playgrounds and picnic benches, plenty of bins and doggy bag stations.

Excellent place to bring your family, sit back and relax, play with your kids at the playground and water area and many photography backgrounds to choose from, exercise equipment for everyone to enjoy and a nice footpath winding around the water area. Great place to take your fur babies for an outing.

This park is stunning and extremely busy with heaps of people walking and having picnics because it’s so lovely. I would definitely recommend getting something from the bakery across the road and going for a walk to see the lovely bird life, it’s an easy paved walk that is short and sweet. Parking is available on the streets with a fee or time limit. β€œJonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

A beautiful, large and busy park. Extremely well maintained with many options to keep your interest. Lakes and birdlife. Multiple playgrounds for all-age kids. Scattered, multiple exercise equipment. Smooth walking paths. Stunning historic Moreton Bay fig trees. Coffee shop. Clean toilet facilities. BBQ facilities. Only downside is the parking, or lack thereof.

I thoroughly love this place. It's a wonderfully shaded park that overlooks a lake, near the city but far enough away to not have much traffic noise despite it centered around busy roads. There's wonderful walking paths and different play areas, and tends to always have ice cream and coffee vans around. Bring a picnic if you don't want to buy anything, there's plenty of open grassed areas or picnic tables. Bring kids or go for a romantic stroll, either way everyone will be happy.

A perfect place to slow down and take in nature. I visited Hyde Park for the first time today and was really impressed - I loved the variety of native flora and fauna that you can find around the park and the multitude of walking paths. The swans were the star of the show.

I enjoy bringing my grandchildren to Hyde Park for very good reasons. Firstly, it's proximity to my home in the city. Secondly, because it has a variety of activities that no other park in the metropolitan area of Perth can match. Thirdly, because my grandchildren love it and I love to see them enjoying themselves.

Scenery is gorgeous and a little inner city delight. The trees are worth the stop and grab a coffee at the coffee shop. The water play park wasn't active, which is what we stopped here for.

A nice morning stroll around two lakes. A couple of parks to keep children occupied and a cafe (meeting place) for lunch. Not overly large, so a couple of hours is plenty. Restrooms at both ends of the park.

Our favourite park in Perth. If you want to hang out in nature and maybe have a walk or picnic then Hyde park is superb. It has a large bird life and many people enjoy hours here at the play equipment or on the push grassed areas. We came here everyday and it was a little oasis to escape the city life.

Very nice park for families with smal kids. There is a playground with lots of stuff to do. The scenery of the lake in the middle of the park was really serene, with water birds and other birds surrounding the vegetations. There is a track that runs circling the lake for slow walking, strolling, or jogging. There are benches at various points to sit and enjoy the view. From distance I can see there is a gazebo on the far corner of the park, alongsode Vincent Street. I went on a Saturday and there was a coffee food truck/cart parked near the playground and open for take-away service. Though I did not buy the coffee, it's really convenient to have it there. There are also several others cafes nearby, only a short walking distance. Didn't have the chance to explore more, but will definitely come back.

Hyde Park has pretty much everything you'd want for a day out. Open spaces, nice well kept lawn, wet and dry playgrounds for the kids that are always nice and clean, two coffee vans, and good facilities. • 5/5 Sharon M. 3 years ago on Google
A picturesque park all year round and very central. It's a great place for outings with kids and bring your dog as well. The lake plays a vital part of the local wildlife. During autumn it's even more beautiful with the yellow brown leaves. It is a great place for photo shoot for weddings for instance. Plenty of street parking around. Plus just a short stroll to local coffee shops.

The park was a beautiful, pleasant and relaxing retreat that can be enjoyed with friends or by yourself. The occasional odour made the experience a little less pleasant however the smell can only be felt in certain spots and is to be expected due to the ponds on the park grounds. Overall Hyde Park is a park worth visiting for a relaxing getaway.

My favourite park in Perth to picnic in. Yesterday we grabbed take away Vietnamese noodle salads and brought them here and sat under the trees, before doing a lap of the park. Even though it was a hot day the beautiful trees provided cover on the walking path to keep us protected from the sun. A perfect lunch spot!

Path that is surrounded by the trees and makes for a great walking trail, especially during the hot months. There is a lot of shaded areas as well to relax with a big playground away from the main road and a water park for the young kids to cool off. And icecream truck and coffee/cafe van is usually parked between the playground and water park. Wish there are more food trucks especially during the holidays if you want to get some variety.

Went to The Hyde Park for the Pride festival. What a great day! Excellent set up with all the stalls, great music, Good bar, Excellent food. However what made this such a fantastic day, The atmosphere was brilliant!!!! Have not seen so many happy people at a single event for a long time. Even our 11 @ 12 year old children had a ball. We even took our cocker spaniels & they had fun (treats = fun for those 2). The park itself is a real treasure for Perth to have, huge trees, lots of shade, a credit to all that maintain the park. Full credit to all the organisers of this event, I shall be there next year with the gang.

Haven't been to Hyde Park for more than 12 years and I thought it was a good time to visit again for the autumn colors. Today, the trees around the lakes were still quite green, however there were a lot of people walking around the park, gathering on the grass areas, and different people doing different things even on a weekday! The park seemed to be more beautiful and well maintained as ever! Public toilets are available close to William Street. We will come back in about 3 weeks time to witness the autumn colors!

I love Hyde Park, and not only because I can easily walk to it. There's a lovely lake to walk around, plus playground areas and a splash park for young children. The park is popular, with plenty of shady trees to sit under, as well as lots of benches dotted about the place. There are often musical events in the park too, making good use of the little stage area.

Hyde Park is a serene and peaceful escape from the bustling city. The park is home to stunning gardens filled with a variety of plant species, providing a lush green canopy for visitors to enjoy. The park also offers recreational activities, including sports facilities, walking and cycling paths, and a skate park. During my visit, I enjoyed a relaxing picnic on the expansive lawns and explored the gardens, taking in the sights and sounds of nature. The statue of King Edward VII is a beautiful and iconic landmark in the park and provided a great photo opportunity. Overall, my experience at Hyde Park was a rejuvenating and enjoyable one, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in the city

The Picturesque Hyde Park came to life today with the Glorious Festival. It was such a wonderful experience. The park was set up with stalls featuring local produce and artistry, everything you'd ever want. Included in the many stalls were Alcohol tastings, Food trucks, (the best Satay Chicken Kebabs and Satay sauce I have ever tasted. Every culinary cuisine covered tasted, a fairy floss stand and I cannot forget to mention 'Bin Bombs' Just to name a few...) With the warm sunshine through those massive trees and manicured gardens, what more could you want? A duck pond with ducklings. A games arcade, kids rides and playground. Bring your dogs, picnic or lay on grass during your lunch break, It is a 'Must See' Perth Park one of my top 5 favourite parks in Perth besides Kings Park which definitely takes 1st Prize. Wheelchair access.

A real definition of safe haven in Perth. Many people come here to chill, sit on the bench, walk their dogs. Unfortunately, I had one bad experience which I lost my smartphone in February 2023, yet I would still keep coming to this pretty and cozy place. Stopping by Hyde Park in Autumn season will mesmerise every of us...
