When
our
favorite
go-to
pizza
place
in
the
area
-
Lucano's
(RIP)
-
closed,
we
were
forced
to
find
its
replacement.
We
tried
a
lot
of
really
disappointing
and
overpriced
pizza
in
the
area
before
finding
Papa's.
I
wish
we
tried
this
place
first
because
Papa's
is
perfect.
Having
grown
up
on
countless
pizza
parties
and
post
little
league
baseball
game
dinners
at
Rocky's
pizza
in
Westchester
(the
GOAT
-
if
you
know,
you
know)
there's
something
special
about
those
last
few
places
in
the
Chicago
suburbs.
The
institutions
that
serve
real
Chicago
pizza
(not
deep
dish).
Tavern-style,
cracker
thin,
crispy
crust,
square
cut,
that
pairs
perfectly
with
an
ice
cold,
draft
beer
or
soda.
While
the
pizza
isn't
quite
as
good
as
our
dearly
departed
first
choice
(Lucano's
had
slightly
better
sausage
and
pepperoni
and
was
just
a
little
bit
thinner
and
crispier,
even
with
tons
of
veggies)
Papa's
makes
up
for
with
it
with
its
time-machine-to-the-past
dining
room,
warm,
friendly,
and
attentive
service,
and
ice-cold
beers
on
tap.
