I bought a yellow hibiscus tree. The leaves immediately began to wilt. I contacted them about a return and they said that tropical plants are not returnable. It was obviously sick when I bought it and this policy should not apply. It was expensive and they lost a customer. I will tell everyone I know never to shop there. They don’t care about us.

Perfect garden and lawn store. Staff is top notch and is very educated on what they are talking about. Every year I purchase items for our Spring/Summer garden and will continue to return for the foreseeable future. Thanks Wannemakers team!

Edit : changing the review from two years from 5 to 1 I am absolutely appalled by the disrespectful and unprofessional behavior exhibited by the front staff at Wannemakers Nursery. My recent experience at this establishment has left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I feel compelled to share my encounter with others. First and foremost, it is essential to highlight that the main purpose of the front staff is to provide assistance and support to customers. Unfortunately, the individuals I encountered seemed to have no grasp of basic customer service skills or professionalism. Their rudeness was on full display when my wife approached them with a simple inquiry about a plant she had purchased. Rather than addressing her concern with patience and respect, they responded with utter disdain and dismissive attitudes. It was clear that they had no interest in providing any form of assistance or resolving the issue at hand. Their lack of knowledge and unwillingness to offer any guidance only served to exacerbate the situation further. The conduct of the front staff at Wannemakers Nursery was not only disappointing but also demonstrated a complete disregard for the principles of customer service. It is disheartening to witness such behavior in a business that claims to value its customers. It is evident that these individuals are sorely in need of proper training on how to interact with customers in a respectful and professional manner. ----------------------- Very nice place plus affordable as compared to other big brands

The best customer service I have experienced! The patio umbrella I wanted was out of stock. I waited a few weeks and then I called to ask how much longer it would be for the umbrella to come in. I told them I couldn’t use the new table and chairs because there was no shade. They offered to deliver an umbrella for me to use temporarily! When the new umbrella came in, they delivered that one and took the temporary one back! This place is first class….and has so many wonderful gift items!

I am part of Wannemaker's Loyalty Program and I had a Lilac bush die on me over the past winter. Wannemaker's has a 1 year return policy on dead shrubs/plants. I forgot to bring the dead Lilac in when I bought my plants this year and spent a lot of money in the store. It is a great store. I finally had a chance to return to the store last weekend and brought the dead Lilac with me. The service person at the front brought up the receipt of the order and I was 30 days beyond the guarantee. I was directed to another service attendant in the garden center, she was watering plants when asked to help me. She obviously was upset that she had to help. She also is the worst service person I have dealt with in some time. I acknowledged I was outside of the return window by a month but told her I forgot to bring the dead Lilac plant in over two months before where I replaced it as part of a much larger order. At that point she insulted me and was downright rude. I left my dead Lilac with Wannemaker's and will never do business with them again regardless of the fact I am a Loyalty member, it meant nothing to them.

Excellent customer service! Cashier came running from behind her til to help me, and called someone to walk me out to my car because she could see my hands were full with my baby. Beautiful selection as well.

We recently had our patio redone and we really wanted to invest in our patio furniture. We visited a few places but nothing really caught my eye - until I walked into Wannemaker's. They literally have anything you could ever imagine for a garden/patio/outdoor space. It's so visually appealing too. Patio furniture is definitely an investment - it felt similar to buying a car - you really want to make sure you make the right choice. The service that we got from John was nothing less than absolutely EXCEPTIONAL. He was on the journey with me from the start to find the perfect fit for my family. I was extremely indecisive and John was extremely patient and helpful in answering my endless questions. His knowledge on the items is unmatched and super impressive. He even got out a measuring tape when I was nervous that the set we chose wouldn't fit in our space. I was confident with our purchase, but was still a little nervous to swipe my credit card. Paula checked us out at the register and was amazing. She was so sweet and patient - even though they getting ready to close. It truly was the best experience from start to finish. Delivery was flawless too (and very reasonably priced!!) My son and I went in a few weeks later to get some decorative outdoor pillows and John noticed us at the register checking out. He came over like we're old friends to see how things were going and even remembered my concerns with the space and wanted to ensure that I was happy with how it all turned out. Then a few days later I got a handwritten note from John to wish us a Happy Summer. Come on, where else do you get service like that now?! HIGHLY recommend heading over to Wannemaker's for any outdoor needs!!

Love the plants here. Wannemaker’s has big collections and some are hard to find elsewhere. Plants are very healthy. I got this beautiful rose bush a week ago. It already had first bloom 3 days after I bought it. It has many buds. I love it so much!!!

A great place for your garden and pond needs. Great inventory of quality products priced without the high markups. shout out to to Jeff in the pond dept who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about ponds and pumps.

Wanamaker’s continues to be the exceptional independent garden and home center that offers higher quality, exceptional plants, flowers, trees, shrubs, equipment, and decor. Wanamaker’s also has a decent array of outdoor fountains; and they also offer the supplies, resources, and know how to create your own koi pond. Wanamaker’s has an impressive inventory for grilling essentials and equipment as well as patio furniture and even nicer mailboxes!

We have shopped here for years and loved this place but today was my last visit. We stopped in for a few plants and fertilizer only to be walking to the check out on our way out of the store my son who is 3 walked around a corner and a poorly displayed decorative mushroom fell over. An employee came over to clean up and never once checked on my son to see if he was okay. Then proceeded to scold us and follow us to the check out up make sure we payed $20 for something that was a poor choice of a display for a crowded part of a store. They never once asked if he was okay or did he get cut they just were concerned with the fact we must pay for there poor choices of displayed items. I have loved this place spent thousands here but am done and see that the service here keeps going down hill.

I received 2 pieces of sod. I took it home and unrolled it this is what I got. They were given to me completely dry. I should of looked but I just let them load and left. I called and spoke with John. He was rude and argumentative. I will start going to another nursery.

Getting ready for spring! They are well stocked! If you can't find an unusual planter, trellis, cushion for your patio chair, or drain dish for your planter they have it. Having a plant issue? Friendly, knowledgeable staff will answer a question. I treated myself to new garden gloves and knee cushion.

This place is Great! Alot of people don't know but Wannemaker's is like a Home Depot/Lowes/Menards Outdoor Super Center but with customer service 10x stronger/greater than the old guys at Ace Hardware. Top Notch, Great Store, Great Employees! Grill Experts! No one's close. Got my Weber Smokefire there. Visit every few weeks for new grill supplies, rubs/sauces, and more. Also great for anything lawn and garden.

I had bought some orchid bark and potting soil, both from the Espoma brand. I get home and open the bag of bark and it has some mold. I did not even bother using it. I opened the bag of soil just to check if it was good and it was, however, I decided not to risk it and that I would just go back to the store and exchange the items for another brand (Foxfarm). I would have even spent more for this brand. But, instead, they gave me a hard time and told me they would not allow me to exchange the soil because it was opened. I understand it’s family owned and they do lose money on these kinds of items, but if they could have just let me exchange the item I would have continued spending my money there. Now I’m not even going to bother to buy anything from there.

Great selection of garden items. However the cashiers are horrendous, extremely rude, dismissive, half of them incompetent in how to process transactions or care for the plants you are buying. And again extremely rude. Actually I hadn’t had a rude store person experience in over 10 years till now. If you want to be treated like you are trash come deal with the cashiers. Otherwise maybe shop their stuff online so you don’t have to deal with the personnel. Also mind you that it wasn’t just one person, it was all 4 that we had an interaction with and all 4 were just nasty verbally and with gestures and facial expressions ugh. I wonder if we tried to talk to a 5th person and he/she is also rude… lol maybe it’s something they look for when they hire people!!! Fix your attitude and be nice human beings for a change!

Stopped in today expecting to purchase a fair amount of Christmas ornaments, greenery, outdoor pots and other accessories. We’ve spent many years shopping here with great customer service. I’m not sure what has changed to impact the culture here so significantly. Unfortunately for a place so festively decorated there wasn’t an ounce of holiday spirit or Christmas cheer expressed from a single employee. My wife accidentally broke a $12 ornament while trying to remove it from the rack. We gladly paid for the damage and bought nothing else after how we were treated. Absolutely no customer service whatsoever. Management and Ownership - please understand that eventually your reputation will no longer precede you. Your teem needs to be better trained to properly serve your customers.

This garden center has everything in 1 place - bbq, mulch, koi fish, artificial floral, holiday lights - and home decor including bathroom cabinetry, lighting and sinks (who knew?) A little pricier than big box stores, but you get quality and choice.
