It's amazing. A classic must for anyone visiting the Chicagoland area. A very clean environment too unlike a lot of other hot dog places around here. Poochie's is the cleanest and most authentic. The people working here know what they are doing and do it well. Poochie's is the real deal.

The best Char Burger! I highly recommend the Char Cheddar Burger. The cheese is almost like a spread which is very pleasant. The fries are very good too. I think Superdawg has better dogs though. The service was very sweet too. Server with the Blue Hair was very sweet. I'd definitely return for another burger.

Five stars for a hot dog joint. All Vienna dogs and polish which is my favorite for a hot dog chain. Vienna is out of Chicago and a national brand, I believe, and I like it much better that hot dog places that use other brands. My wife likes the char dogs and I like the polish sausages. I also buy Vienna at the grocery stores like Jewel who carry them in our area. Other places serving Vienna are also good. Poochie's fries are very good fresh, house sliced, skin on, that you don't find too often. Single, owner operated, store, market priced. Give them a try if you are in the neighborhood.

Visiting town and wanted to try a local burger joint. This had great reviews so gave the Cheddar Char Burger a shot. Not impressed. Big deal that it was charred. The bun was cold, not toasted and the cheddar was Cheese Whiz or something nasty. I don't get the attraction. Also tried fried mushrooms and they were very bland. Maybe folks are just nostalgic. Nice restrooms, though.

Had the cheddar burger, staple of the house, nothing extraordinary, fries were ok, but not great, place is clean and liked the pictures on the wall. Really an average hot dog place, would go back anytime I'm in the area, but will definitely try other alternatives as well

Chicago memorabilia in the dining room. Very friendly staff. I felt it was kind of pricey for a char dog and fries. Fry order was large but a just a tad over done, dog was adequate but nothing to rave about

Good hotdogs and tamales. I did not like the cheddar cheese sauce, ordered on the side with fries. Had the consistency of pureed pumpkin, and was cold.

Poochie's has been around for a long time, and you feel the warmth of a cozy, comfortable place right as you walk through the door. Plenty of tables and booths, large TVs showing the news/games going on, and a great team ready to grill up your order. We went with the Double Char Burger and a Chicago Dog, fries with both. Everything was just delicious. GREAT comfort food. If you are looking to treat yourself to a great burger and fries, Poochie's is a great place to go!

Great family friendly restaurant. Traditional comfort food. We had the hot dog, bacon cheeseburger, and handcutted fries. It was fresh delicious. The fries were little oily and dark for me. The price is typical for the food. A great neighborhood place to have.

Best Chicago style hot dog restaurant in the whole world. Ok I haven’t been all over the world , but trust me when I say it’s the best. Hand cut fries is definitely one reason this is my go to hotdog place. No frozen “French” fries here. 😂

Chris the owner is so warm and welcoming. Everyone is happy and polite. So clean and even the bathroom. The food is made to order and is excellent. I just started working her within a month. I have bright family and friends and everyone loves it. Great job team keep up the good work and great food. ❣️

I tend to be pretty particular about burgers in general. For awhile my favorite bacon chargrilled cheese burger was from Portillos. After trying poochies..I will gladly drive past several Portillos to order a burger from here instead. I highly recommend the west coast burger and add bacon. The burger was life changing! The only reason I didn’t go back in to buy another one was because I had to return to work. It’s so good and I can’t wait to try more of their menu. In addition, the lady at the register was very kind and provided great customer service. All around a great experience

Just want to shout out the staff for making a vegetarian friendly version of the Chicago dog. Other places have either just outright ignored the request or won’t even take my money. Really appreciative of the staff and the ownership for hooking me up. Appreciate you all!

This place is classic awesome char dog cheese fries with real cheddar skirt steak is cooked to order. Try the char chicken breast it's huge I recommend it with teriyaki sauce. Best us the grilled salami sandwich it's a classic and they have kraut for the char dog!

Exactly what you want from a Chicago hot dog place. The food is good (try the grilled salami if you want a break from the hot dogs), and unlike many of Poochie's peers, it's exceptionally clean, including the restrooms. Long story short, Poochie's has been my family's go-to for years.

Great hotdog place. Try the char cheddar burger or char dog. Their cheese is a little different style but it's excellent. Also good onion rings. There's a good sized area to eat inside.

I love Poochie’s! I am really amazed and impressed by their great offers! I ordered their Vienna hot dogs, a double cheddar burger, fries, and a lemonade. All of the food that I ordered deserves a five-star! The hot dogs are great, tasty, and quality. The burger also, it is meaty, flavorful, and has a good texture. This place is an awesome spot to visit anytime you want to eat. The whole place is wide, clean, and bright. You can really relax and enjoy the ambiance inside. Poochie’s is highly recommended! Everything here is great! I will also suggest trying their grilled salami sandwich and steak. You won’t be disappointed trying it. The customer service here is really great! All of their staff here is really nice, polite, and decent. They serve the order/s on time and the food is really hot when they give it to your table. Even the managers are attentive and accommodating. They also help the staff and guide all the customers. Everyone who works here is really nice. Outstanding service! It’s Saturday at 1 o’clock and I go to Poochies give me fries and a cheeseburger. There was not many customers in the store and everybody have been waiting on except the people in front of me. I gave the cashier my order and stepped outside to make a phone call it lasted maybe two minutes three minutes. Came back in the place was crowded but for some reason everybody was getting their orders except me. I had to ask the lady behind the counter did you forget about my cheeseburger, and she said no. Cheeseburger was very raw on the inside.

Excellent Char-Polish and Fresh Cut Fries with a sharp cheddar cheese dip for the fries that is not runny or gooey. There is a reason Poochie's has been in business since I was in my teens.

They have good hot dogs! Their loaded fries has a delicious cheese sauce well mixed throughput the fries along with the bacon. Definitely try it!

I got a black and blue burger with the works and an order of cheese fries, both were absolutely delicious and the serving size of fries was generous(as it should be). Food was served up quick and was fresh. Guy at the counter was nice, issue was the woman working line had no hat on and was bare handing RTE(ready to eat) foods, a little unsettling but she was very presentable so i wasn't questioning her cleanliness. Don't let that deter you, food was AWESOME and not a bad price.They may have just forgot their hat and had no spares in house to borrow, I would 100% come back here.

We love Poochie's! This was our first time eating inside. Just good dogs and fries and mozzarella sticks and malted milkshakes. We've been a dozen times and will go a dozen more.
