If I could leave no stars I would, I have thought hard about leaving this review but as a pastry chef myself I need to share my experience. I didn't want to make a cake for my own wedding as I was busy enough in the week leading to the ceremony and so I did my research and put my trust in this company. I felt worried from the moment we asked for our flavour samples and the owner simply forgot to make them and send them to us, she then delivered them the next week and got two of the samples wrong. But that was ok as we already had an idea of the flavours we wanted and lucky that was one of the flavours delivered.... I just hoped the cake would live up to expectations. Unfortunately what was delivered was definitely not worth the money you spend on wedding cakes... £250 for a one tier cake which by wedding standards is cheap but you expect better quality. I feel the lack of interest in us as customers was awful... As a pastry chef myself I have decorated several celebration cakes and so I know what standard to expect. The "marbled effect" was hardly visible and made the fondant look dirty, the air bubbles and creases are down to poor covering of the cake and the decor was very sparse compared to what we had decided on when we had the design meeting. The cake itself was also sloping to the side and not stacked well at all.... Please believe me when I say I never leave reviews like this but I feel, as your wedding its meant to be one of the most special days of your life I need to share this. I would not recommend this company for wedding cakes. **In response to the owners reply** I'm afraid we were never asked about our cake when we dropped off the £50 piece of log we rented and so didn't have a chance to voice are comments at the time. She was very silent, didn't speak to us much except for one comment on the weather. It has taken me this long to voice my opinions because I personally don't tend to write bad reviews and the reason why I am now is because you should learn from this mistake if you intend to create cakes for occasions such as weddings when the standard needs to be very high. I think the photos of the cake taken on the day prove my point and you must have noticed the poor quality and decided to proceed with the delivery anyway.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend, celebration cake tasted stale & was heavily overpriced. Lesson learnt. In response to the owners comment I do not wish to get in touch as I’m not a confrontational person therefore use my nickname for orders so I’m not harassed by people to take down my honest opinions. This is not a false review as I have friends who tasted this cake & agreed. Sometimes it’s best to accept feedback even if it’s not to your liking rather than assume you can never make a bad cake. I do not mind if Google contact me to confirm my review.

My experience with this shop was very good. I live in Germany and have ordered a cake for my mum’s Birthday, who lives in the UK. Due to COVID-19 I couldn’t visit my mum on her birthday, but still wanted to surprise her with a beautiful cake. Team of Lois’s Little Cake company made it possible. The cake was very beautiful and my mum was very happy to receive it. Thank you very much for a wonderful cake!

I Was so excited to receive my mother’s 70th birthday cake to which I have planning for some time now, to be so let down & disappointed was an understatement.... I sent a photo exactly how I wished the cake to look & specifically said I did not want icing on the outside I wanted buttercream, both I was told could be arranged. On receiving the cake it was icing all over and looked nothing like the photo I requested. I was told they could take the cake back an hour before the party for a full refund or part refund. As you can imagine my disappointment I had no choice but to take the cake at such short notice an hour before the party. The manager rang me as requested & had the audacity to tell me it was still a nice cake!!! If I wanted the cake to look this way I wouldn’t of sent a photo showing exactly how I wanted it to look! The manager seemed to think because it was in her eyes a ‘nice cake’ taking responsibility that it was wrong, that I should be satisfied... NO, it doesn’t work like that!! And also to be told well I can peel the icing off !! As the paying customer I’m paying for what I have requested, not what YOU appear to be a ‘nice cake’ I am not satisfied. Completely ruined the day. I explained an analogy after it seemed the manager thought I was being unreasonable to be so let down, & upset with her cake that if I paid for a red Range Rover & it turned up a blue Astra, can you see my disappointment!!! I would love to say that the filling of cake made up for the disappointment, sadly it went from bed to worse, the sponge was the driest sponge I have ever had the unfortunate of eating, & next time yes, I would have been better going to Waitrose as you suggested.

My father's 80th birthday. A retired policeman. So ordered a cake in the form of a policeman's helmet. Made a great centre piece and tasted great too. Thanks to all at lois's appreciate all your hard work and skill

Made a fantastic cake for my sons first birthday, would highly recommend!

Didn’t know what to expect,but was not disappointed,the lemon cup cake and raspberry cupcake were amazing.little ice cream on the side,lovley idea.we sat outside with Peggy the patterdale,The ladies are lovley and highly recommended.

Asked Debbie to produce a themed cake for a joint Engagement and 30th celebration in Feb. She came up with the idea of 2 separate cakes - one for each occasion with figures created from photographs supplied! 😱. The cakes exceeded all our expectations and everybody at the party raved about them! I have put a photo on but can’t seem to attach one to this review? One cake was a beach themed proposal and the 30th one was a cabin crew themed cake! One chocolate and one victoria sponge! Delicious! What a talented group of people at this little gem of a shop! Thanks again! 🙌🏻

Debbie is an absolute genius! We gave her a very rough idea of what we wanted our wedding cake to look like but she went above and beyond and her flavours are insane! It was absolutely stunning we can’t thank you enough.

I have never tasted such fantastic handmade chocolates. Wish I'd bought more, but I needed to taste test first. I wasn't disappointed. The rose and violet creams were the perfect texture, crammed full of taste, and when I return, which I definitely will, I will be buying a larger box...can't wait.

Lovely little tea room. Good selection of tea and coffee, beautiful sandwiches and cakes. Had an excellent jubilee afternoon tea.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Had this cake made for my wife’s 40th birthday. I gave Debbie some ideas and then left her to it and she didn’t disappoint. My wife was amazed, it was incredible and I had to talk her in to finally cutting it. When she eventually did, we loved it even more, it tasted yummy! Will not hesitate to order again or recommend to anyone looking for a cake maker. Thank you!!

Hi Debs, We cannot thank you enough for the beautiful cake you made for Dad ! We were all amazed at the spectacular detail and it made Dad so happy! He loved all the meaningful references to his life, from the model of him and his splendid bike to the representation of the Bronte Waterfalls which also made the Yorkshire side of his family very happy!!! The carrot cake and raspberry and vanilla two tiers were delicious so moist and the whole thing cut easily into 40 pieces still leaving cake for Dad to take home.

I've used Lois little cake company for a Tardis cake for my wife, which was amazing and she loved it. My wife had a special archery/lord of the rings themed cake made which was wonderful and tasted amazing. We love the designs and intricacy on the cake. They are so moreish and yet light. We can't wait for our next celebration and would highly recommend.

We met Debbie at a wedding fayre and after one taste of her cakes, we knew she must make our wedding cake. We had our first meeting with her today to put together a design for the cake, it will have an Alice in Wonderland theme. The whole visit to the shop was lovely. We were warmly greeted and provided with refreshments, then Debbie sat with us to talk us through designs. The standard of the cakes looked excellent and Debbie had some great ideas for our design. We can't wait to see it! We took a 40 minute drive to the shop, but it was well worth it.

Booked my Mum and Brother an afternoon tea. They were over the moon!!!! The quality of both the food and service was amazing. Debbie and her girls went above and beyond!!!! I will be booking in for my afternoon tea soon.
