Overrated food and very overpriced for such tiny portion, cold and basically rude service too. There's definitely better Spanish tapas in the UK than this, one is near enough in Bournemouth, for the same price but the portion at least is normal and taste heaps better! So I know this is not the standard for tapas in the UK, this is purely just overpriced for food doesn't even taste good or authentic. If food is good and worth it then I don't really care about how the staff are like, but in this case when food is bland, but the service from the staff is even worse like they are mad at us or something.. Never coming back again.

It’s been a while since I was last here but forgot to give it a review… …Just opposite the Red Funnel Ferry terminal is this fantastic place for a drink outside in the sun and for a continental style meal. I had the best tasting garlic bread in four slices placed in a woven mini basket 🧺 I then had a delicious salad style dish as a main and a San Miguel beer. It’s a popular place for dining in and catches the sun during the day outside for a cool drink. Plenty of seating four to a table or two with upper seating tables too. I will definitely go again and recommend it for impromptu visit or a booking.

We booked in advance as we have got a big group. The location is easy to find with a pay car park nearby. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great and food were delicious beside the lamb dish which tasted like mushy lamb meat. Good selection of tapas. Overall it was a good experience.

We went back after 5 years since las time we’ve been there and what we’ve found was the restaurant under new ownership and that the food was lovely and the people very nice and very helpful. I like that Spanish atmosphere in the middle of Southampton.5 ⭐️ definitely and for sure we won’t wait another 5 years to go back.

Came to La Regata a couple of weeks ago on a Monday evening for a birthday meal. The food was delicious and the service was great albeit a bit slow after our mains, waiting for dessert towards the end of the evening. We had a few tapas plates to start as we had ordered the Paella for 2 which has a slight wait. All the tapas we had were amazing and the Paella was so flavoursome. It was nicer than some we’ve had it Spain! There was plenty of it and not shy on the seafood, I’d say it could serve 3 if you’ve already had starters! I would definitely come back and I can’t wait to try all the other tapas!

Absolutely outstanding. What a fantastic place. I wanted to knock it down a point because they had no creme catalana which I was so looking forward to having only had one in valencia before. There was none left. But the food, wow. Every dish superb. The pork cheeks are ridiculous. 100% recommend this place. Hopefully will go on a cruise near year and without doubt I will be here hopefully without doubt. Phenomenal.

The staff at La Regata were amazing. They hosted our wedding reception and were absolute stars. The food was fabulous, we could not fault anything. Every dish was delicious. The staff were attentive and made sure everyone had drinks and even accommodated our wedding cake.

Always excellent tapas at La Regata. This time we had the stuffed dates and aubergine dishes which were delicious. Staff are always lovely and service is good.

Nice little spot to grab a quick meal. We had a table booked for two at 6.45pm and were in the taxi home by 7.30pm (spent the rest of the night in the pub near home instead lol). Service was good but just super fast, not quite the traditional Spanish experience and seemed like they wanted us in and out. The food was nice, good cheeses and croquetas but not much in variety of fish. I don't think I'd come back, next time I want tapas I think it would be better to pick up a bunch of things in M&S and have a more affordable and leisurely dining experience at home.

The place is absolutely stunning, definitely with character. Food was delicious and of fair portions. Our starters and a jug sangria get us through the wait for the tasty paella (worth the wait!). Service was great too. PS. make sure to book as this place is a blockbuster Will visit again.

Such a beautiful restaurant, authentic tapas, and wonderful atmosphere. Great convenient location, just a stones throw from West Quay. The food was amazing and the staff are warm and attentive. Even with a slight mistake in nearly delivering the wrong dessert for a little one, they were quick to have it sorted and happiness was restored. Definitely be back again.

Initially I was very impressed as they allowed us to come in last min on Friday night ( 10 pm ) the kitchen waited I was informed we ordered steak £29 and bottle of wine starter was a board with what’s meant to be quality Ham What looked like children plates ( small blue plates ) were brought to us and It was was terribly presented Fried round pieces of potatoes , carrots x 2 sticks @£150 for 3 people I didn’t want to give a tip out of principle Felt like a con

We where there with a bunch of friend. As we stayed just around the corner it’s been conveniently for us. Very good food, authentic Spanish food, we felt like we where in Spain not uk. I am sorry that I didn’t get any of the names of the staff but keep your employees happy because the provide a good service

Normally I’ll give you 5 ⭐️. But last Sunday, Father’s Day I assumed that the chef had a day off. The service was a bit slow & was surprised with the bread and olives. Olives very nice but that bread should had been included with the olives as was too plain with no butter u oil. I’m sure you can get a better one. The pulpo a la gallega , padrón peppers, albóndigas, cheek pork, crackling pork belly, patatas bravas, prawns, aubergines & white asparagus were delicious. Love to enjoy tapas with friends as you get to try a bit of everything. La Regata has got places upstairs for large parties. Good selection of wines & drink. I’ll be back for more but not Sundays!

Impeccable food, service and experience. The staff gave good advice on wine ordering and offered free taste. We will definitely visit again and again!

We’ve been to this restaurant twice now and love it. Situated on the waterfront, opposite the Town Quay in a lovely old building. It seems very popular and has been full on both occasions we have visited. Booking is advisable. The interior is tastefully decorated with lots of period features. There is an upstairs balcony section but sitting downstairs you have double height to the ceiling. Good tapas menu but we chose Paella for two. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and a couple of San Miguels washed it down nicely. Will definitely go again.

I always love going here. I was there last weekend with family. It's so nice to go back after 2 years. I highly recommend this place always amazing food. The only downside is make the sangria a little stronger please it tastes like fruit juice. Two pitchers and didn't even feel it had any if much alcohol. Otherwise everything is perfect.

Best tapas and Paella, really good service and a lovely venue. There could be a few more vegan options however the vegan options they do have are really nice! Have visited many times over the last few years and have always had a lovely meal. It's a little pricey but worth it.

Food was lovely but portions for the mains a bit small as we left hungry. Staff were friendly and helpful. Obviously not as authentic as proper Spanish tapas, but definitely tasty all the same. Would recommend going earlier in the day as dinner time got really busy very quickly which left servers rushing around and forgetting some tables (ours being one of these when it came to desert). We didn't mind because we were enjoying the music and atmosphere, but some others might. Overall lovely experience.

Outstanding food and very good wine. Truly excellent. A must for Southampton. We had tapas to share. Fast, attentive and polite service. Slightly upmarket with very good value for money. Would return with pleasure.
