Been here a good few times with our friends in Southampton and loved every single minute!! Beer selection is seriously high level!! I mean the sort of level you are gonna struggle to beat in a boozer.. staff are always super friendly and up for a bit of banter!! And the food, well.. it’s hard to argue with steak, mussels, schnitzel etc… I think they now do rotating kitchens… so I’m gonna have to get back to try that at some point!! But this is deffo a Southampton gem… would love them to open one up in London!!

Been in for the past few weeks for steak and mussels on a Thursday night. Absolutely fantastic food. Great mussels in a lovely sauce accompanied by a great steak, cooked exactly as requested. And to top it off, a live blues act… great!!

Loverly dog friendly pub, excellent selection of beers, we also had a great time doing the quiz on a wednesday which starts at 7.30. Whilst we didn't eat the food being brought out looked good.

An easily missed gem on the main street through Southampton City centre. At street level it may not seem that appealing but once you go through the doors and down the steps you can really appreciate its charm. A cosy low ceiling with a mix of snugs, booths and high top seating around and opposite a welcoming and well stocked bar. Of course as the name suggests, there's a plentiful choice of beers, ales, lagers and ciders as well as spirits etc. We enjoyed a roast each. The food was rich and flavoursome and both the pork and brisket were superb. On the side we had cauliflower cheese and extra gravy was available by request. The music really set the scene, popular rock classics, as did the lighting and general decor. Through the week there are themed evenings....e.g live blues on a Thursday. The service was a little slow at first and could be a bit more engaging. But it was still good. Toilets were OK. Generally though... its a great place. Would be good for groups. We'll be back soon....

An epic selection of Belgium beers and tasty food. I need to work through the menu and sample more of the drinks.

Great beer, on the pricey side but what do you expect? Also great food, simple but well done. The guys were really helpful in getting us our food in time to get to a show, going out of their way to make sure all was done in time. Felt like a personal kind of place, and one that you want to go back to whenever possible

A connoisseur’s place for the cream of Belgium and continental beers. A great venue, not only for the array of beers but, the ambiance and music. In the basement it offers either booth style seating or high chairs and small tables. Would recommend this place. Check availability at busy times.

This is a great bar with a great atmosphere. Has an excellent selection of craft beers too. I was however disappointed by the price on my Pomona Stout (£15). I know craft beer can be priced at a premium and particularly the imperial stouts, but these normally retail online at £9/10. So it was a 50% mark-up I didn't expect and probably should've been warned! It doesn't take away from the great time we had and I do highly recommend this lovely downstairs bar if you ever visit Southampton. I look forward to my next visit 😉🍻

Great little basement bar in the cultural quarter of Southampton. They have many different beer brands available too! Edit: I recently tried their Sunday roasts! Delicious.

Best pub in Southampton! Surprised by their fantastic selection of Belgian beers. The staff were also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I also tried their pizza napoletana which was delicious and paired perfectly with the beer. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended for anyone looking for a good pub with great food and beer

Lovely place for a pint and pizza. Great selection of both Kegs and Bottles and good offers during weekdays. The only reason I take off one star is because of the service. The bartenders could smile a little and not be so uptight. We visited on a Tuesday evening and they weren’t even that busy. They forgot my red onion chutney with my Camembert :( I felt something was missing but I didn’t notice it till I’d consumed half of it. So I didn’t bother to flag it since the staff didn’t seem so friendly. To conclude, I would definitely visit the place again as the beer and food is good but I just hope they improve the service.

Visited on a Wednesday and had the schnitzel and waffle for £10 deal, excellent value. Huge selection of Belgium beers and uk craft beers. Very good service. Only criticism the chicken schnitzel was very good but the pork was very fatty. They were only taking cash on the night but the manager called us beforehand to make us aware, nice touch.

Lovely find in Southampton. Only the basement bar was open but the beers on offer were all excellent. We tried most of the Belgium beer on draft between the 3 of us. The music while slightly loud did not impact on conversation at all. Definitely a find - possibly quieter than other bars because of the price of the beers (we are not complaining though). Would definitely return. 🤗

Great bar serving Belgian beers and various guest cask and craft keg. Always something here that I fancy! Food is also spot on - faultless roast and great burgers too. We always visit when in Southampton and manage to often spend a couple of hours here effortlessly! Friendly and attentive staff who know their stuff. Recommended.

We wanted to have some Belgian food, but when we decided to visit it was a Sunday roast day.. it’s quite confusing, like there isn’t enough places already serving this dish in Southampton? Or at least please offer a few Belgian dishes on Sundays. So people who are looking for something different and miss Europe can just pop up and have it without leaving sad! Thanks

Went to Belgium and Blues the other day, the venue was clean and immaculate. I went on a Tuesday and had a fantastic Pizza which was 2-4-1 so me and a friend had a pizza each. The staff where really knowledgeable about the beer's with loads to offer depending on what type of beer you are into after a long chat with the staff we found a great NZ Pale Ale that was right for me, but Owen really helped me pick the right beer for the moment. All in all the venue is well worth a visit if your massively I to beer or not as there is offerings for other to drink as well.

Amazing selections of Beers in an under ground cellar feel venue. Steak and mussels are wonderful (go on a Thursday when they are reduced and it's even better). Beer cocktails are weirdly delicious! Chilled venue - blues music playing either live or via sound system.

Brilliant bar, bustling and vibrant atmosphere. Lovely beers and well priced. Looking forward to going back to see a live band in the near future.

a craft ale pub with local vibes, offering a distinction between a lively party atmosphere downstairs and a quieter conversational area upstairs. I appreciated the variety of new beers and the option to socialize or watch sports. The food vendor changes regularly, but I did not have a negative experience with the food. However, I noted that the toilet was not up to my standards. Overall, despite the bathroom issue, I had a good time and would recommend the place.

Booked up for a Sunday roast after the football this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great selection of beers available and as well as roasts there were pizza’s too. We all had a roast dinner which was a choice of pork shoulder or beef brisket, they both were beautifully cooked with tender meat and tasty vegetables. 10/10

Really lovely basement bar with a fantastic range of European beers and other drinks. The size of it does mean you may struggle to get a seat but does create a really vibrant atmosphere. They also have an excellent range of live music with the kinds of bands not often offered elsewhere in the city centre. If you're looking for somewhere different to have a beer and catch up with friends that isn't a chain pub this is absolutely ideal!

I really like this bar and have been a few times. They have a fantastic selection of beers and even some beer based cocktails. The staff are very knowledgeable about helping you pick your next choice. They have food deals through the week and pizza at the weekend. They do live music which can be a little loud if you want to chat, but there are tables upstairs and some more secluded booths round the edges to allow you to enjoy your company and the atmosphere. A great little independent bar, definitely recommend!

Great little Belgium beer focussed craft beer place, with classic dingy downstairs but lovely street side seating up top in full view of sun. Amazing beer selection, would definitely go back to try food to bring up to 5*

Love this place, beer and cider choice is extensive to say the least! The 3rds tasting beer platter is great to try beers the the first time. Staff were great, will come back again when we visit Southampton again

Last time I visited this place I think it was called something else, can't remember what as it was so long ago and I didn't make a note of remembering. The layout is the same, it's downstairs so no natural light. I'm sure they used to make these amazing fish finger sandwiches?? Anyway, there's a nice selection of ciders and ales. The bar steward was friendly. Worth a visit.

A wonderful little basement bar. Very friendly staff who're happy to chat through their vast menu of Belgian beers! Great live music nights too and they currently have @Arty_Stans pizza in residency (and they apparently do an amazing Sunday Roast 12-6)

Called in for a quick beer before the theatre. A few outside seats and a quieter upstairs seating area complement the downstairs bar. A large range of draft and bottled continental beers served by very efficient bar staff. Will be returning on a Blues night for more delicious beer and little music.

I’ve been going here for about 4 years now and I can tell you if you’re after craft beer, great food, live music and exceptional service I couldn’t recommend anywhere else in Southampton! The guys down there know their stuff are super lovely. Always a great selection of beers, 20% off tasting flights on Tuesdays, kitchen pop ups and tap take overs. Cannot recommend enough
