Made
the
unfortunate
decision
to
visit
and
patronize
this
local
business,
Caribelle
Batik
at
Romney
Manor.
Unless
the
business
owner/employees
are
stuck
in
colonial
times,
not
all
people
of
color
are
bad,
thieves
or
out
to
steal
anything.
We
were
chased,
corralled,
watched,
followed,
you
name
it,
to
ensure
at
least
4-5
employees
were
around
us
at
any
given
time.
I
had
to
ask
several
times
if
its
ok
to
browse/shop,
because
the
scrutiny
was
uncomfortable
and
ridiculous.
After
our
purchase,
yes
despite
all
this
we
still
decided
to
spend
our
money
there.
I
was
not
allowed
to
exit
the
door
to
use
the
rest
room.
I
did
tell
the
cashier
and
another
clerk
with
her,
how
shameful
they
were
treating
us,
even
after
we
spent
money
there,
the
harassment
still
continued.
I
would
simply
say,
people
of
color
are
not
welcome
at
this
business,
what's
even
more
shameful
is
that
people
of
color
was
behaving
this
way.
It
may
be
helpful
to
the
staff
to
put
a
sign
up
front,
since
the
color
of
my
money
is
the
same
as
others,
but
the
color
of
my
skin
warranted
this
behavior
and
treatment
of
the
people
at
this
business.
Never
again
and
I
would
rather
burn
the
products
we
brought
than
ever
utilize
it
after
this
racially
profiling
experience.
Believe
it
or
not,
tourist's
of
color
have
choices
and
we
also
have
buying
power,
colonial
times
are
over,
get
with
the
program!!!!!
Shame
on
the
owners
and
employees
of
this
business!!!
