This is small museum, but it was a perfect stop right after breakfast. It had exhibits of prehistoric creatures, ancient peoples, and vehicles from way back when. There were even preserved buildings and furniture from quite some time ago!

Great experience all around. The receptionist is very kind and the exhibits are interesting. Exhibits, automotive history and native American history dominate most of the space. I highly recommend checking out the three buildings in the back that have been relocated to the museum. The old house is filled with appropriate era furniture and daily household items.

This was an Amazing museum! I would recommend it to everyone. Lots to see and do. They do not charge for admission. However, please be gracious and make a donation to help them with the upkeep of this precious and historical beautiful site!

We toured the entire museum. So informative and lots of history. The worker was so pleasant to talk with. They rely strictly on donations, so be generous.

This museum is a real hidden treasure, and worth the time to visit. Concentrating on Humboldt County and Winnemucca history, it is a snapshot of the old west, and the tough people who settled it. You will find such diverse things as prehistoric fossils, local Basque culture (one of my favorites), Native American History, and antique autos and farm equipment. There is also an original small chapel that has been moved to the site, and a replica mercantile store and home from the past, with many interesting items from the past. There is also a section on a historic Chinatown that is no longer a part of Winnemucca. It is all tidy, organized, and we'll run. And at least on the day I was there, it was free. I gladly gave a donation for them to continue running sush a great museum.

It is a small, but charming museum. Mainly focused on Winnemucca’s history, they provide many replicas and models of all sorts of things contributing to Winnemucca’s past. A cute stop if you are driving on I-80 and are interested in the area!
