One
Magnificent
Medspa
is
trying
to
provide
an
upscale
experience
and
charging
upscale
prices,
but
unfortunately
they’re
missing
the
mark.
Their
treatment
and
service
offerings
are
comparable
to
SkinSpirit
(a
skin
and
aesthetic
services
chain
with
locations
primarily
on
the
coasts),
but
the
experience
is
not
nearly
as
high
end.
A
few
examples
from
my
facial
experience:
1.
The
hand
lotion
offered
for
the
parafin
hand
treatment
smells
like
the
highly
fragrant
variety
used
by
nail
salons;
this
is
an
unusual
place
to
skimp,
given
scent
is
a
great
way
to
leave
a
lasting
impression
on
clients
after
they’ve
left
the
spa.
2.
They’ve
overdone
the
facial
experience
with
unnecessary
devices
like
a
battery
operated
facial
cleansing
device
to
replace
hands
on
cleansing
and
an
electrical
“impurity
remover”
to
replace
hands
on
extractions.
These
devices
are
far
less
effective
than
the
traditional
hands
on
approach.
Professional
extraction
is
one
of
the
primary
value
propositions
of
a
facial,
and
that
was
missing
from
my
experience.

The
skincare
product
lines
offered
for
individual
sale
and
used
in
the
back
bar
are
limited.
Image
skincare,
skinbetter
and
Obagi
are
great
brands,
but
a
more
expansive
offering
would
allow
for
a
more
tailored
client
experience.
Having
recently
moved
from
San
Francisco,
I’m
accustomed
to
paying
$175-$200
for
a
quality
facial.
This
one
was
$240
and
roughly
1/3
of
the
value.
