My family and I stayed at this hotel for a week and we were very disappointed with the service. Every time we came back from our outings, there was always at least 1 thing that was missing from our room. My mom wanted to leave her reading glasses and sunscreen in the drawer (near the TV), but when we came back it was gone! I even tested leaving a pack of floss, and it was gone when we came back. Because of this, we were super anxious and stressed that the person cleaning could steal more things, so we had to gather our belongings in a way that wasn't all over the place... every single day. Unless we had missed the memo, I believe it is custom that personal things in the room (including drawers) will not be touched and that the cleaners will only clean the usual (floor, restroom, bed, refill everything). There was also a day where our room wasn't even cleaned when we came back. This was the family's first time visiting Evanston and our trip was partly ruined because of this. We are scarred from this experience, and unfortunately we will never come back to this hotel.

Room was old, and the cleaning staff really needs to clean the rooms not just fake it. In the bathroom (which I ended up cleaning with bleach that I had) had long black hair and a used package of face scrub in the shower. The room smelled of mold and just could not get comfortable. I stay all over the USA and I mainly stay at holiday inns. Now I know these are not four star hotels but a bit of pride in your rooms go a long way I feel.

My stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. The room's modern design and comfortable furnishings created a welcoming atmosphere. The staff's professionalism and willingness to accommodate special requests were truly appreciated. The hotel's commitment to environmental conservation was evident through their innovative initiatives. The culinary experience was a highlight, with a menu that featured both familiar and innovative dishes, all expertly prepared. The hotel's central location allowed me to explore the city's attractions effortlessly. Without a doubt, this hotel is now my go-to choice for a memorable stay.

We asked several times to clean our room but they did not. We asked for clean towels but had to get our own. Despite registering our car for the garage we got parking tickets every day. It is in an incredible location and the rooms are fine..nothing special but all you need.

On the positive side, the bed was phenomenally comfortable and the location was perfect. It's within walking distance to the lake, parks, shops, tons of restaurants, and even stores like Target. The front desk staff were super helpful and friendly. On the downside, the bathroom was really small and the sink didn't drain well. That's a pet peeve of mine. The gym was super tiny. The pool was closed but I could tell it was small (it was covered), and it's outdoor. The restaurant was usually closed and didn't have alcohol *they said they will have it soon. Housekeeping knocked on my door even though I had "come back later " thingie on the door knob and I had two more hours before checkout. There was a freaky power outage during my stay. Don't know the cause but they credited me for my parking upcharge because of it.

Stayed here for a night. Rooms were fine, bed was comfortable but a picture was cracked in the bathroom, there was no desk chair and overall was just dated. We were woken in the night by someone in a room next to us smoking weed and the smell came into our room which was not great. The restaurant was closed, but there were many good restaurants nearby. Location was very nice, by many stores, the trains and by the lake. Pool deck was on a roof which was cool, and the pool was very warm. It would have been nice to have a hot tub as well by the pool. Workout room was good, they had a Peloton bike and lots of other things. Overall, this hotel was old and dated but it was nice for a one night stay.

The staff at this hotel are very pleasant and seem genuinely happy to see you, and the room beds, these are the things the Holiday Inn have going for it, as is the location in Evanston. We stayed on 10th floor, which was fine and had a working Coca-Cola machine. The ice machine in hallway made terrible noises at times. The elevators are near ramshackle. The common areas in the hallways are worn out and very dated. The restaurant is closed except for breakfast. You wonder if there might be migrants housed on the lower floors of the hotel. It’s not clear where the front entrance is when you arrive, and the handicap lift did not work. There is a good restaurant across the street named “Mid Kitchen” which advertises dinner but closes at 4PM. Every other shop in the area is closed or is papered-over. The hotel feels it may be in pre-liquidation. But it was the best value in the area which feels a neutron bomb hit, leaning the buildings but something has been lost.

Dated, very dated, hotel. Good location. Staff were very nice, check in was easy, however the room did not have a single USB outlet & I was unable to charge my phone or tablet. USB's in the airport, on the plane, in the rental car but not in this hotel room. I'm surpised they had WiFi. And the breakfast..... Ugh powdered eggs were inedible. The TV in the room was tiny compared to my experience at other hotels in this price range. I might have given more stars if I was paying $100/night. I expect much more when I am paying over $400/night. Find somewhere else, but if you do stay here, bring a plug in charger and don't eat at the hotel. Plenty of good options nearby in walking distance.

In town for a sad occasion , a memorial service for a close friend. The evening desk staff person, Tigist, was outstanding in all ways! Her welcome was warm. While accomplishing all the checkin tasks efficiently, she offered kind sympathy and took time to invite us to share our story. Roger, the daytime desk person, was another welcoming efficient person. He quickly responded to any needs, including assuring us that we were welcome to relax in the (very nice) lobby lounge after checking out and that our car could remain parked free of charge until 5p. Checkout is 11am. Also breakfast is a hot and delicious buffet while real plates and silverware. There is an upcharge for it but is actually worth the price.

Decent place, but no breakfast (be forewarned). The room was fairly clean, albeit it on the small/cramped side. You can definitely hear the train outside frequently, which can be unsettling if you’re from out of town. Close to restaurants, coffee, some shopping. The parking garage isn’t very well lit, but at least it’s covered.

Handicap accessible room has bed too high to climb into without a step stool. Accessible tub had one handhold at non-plumbed end of tub, no other supports. Main entrance had stairs and a broken elevator for handicap access. Nice staff, but difficult facility for someone with a walker.

Great location in downtown Edison. Rooms are a bit tired. Service staff were a little discombobulated. Rooms are reasonably sized, clean and quiet. October 22 update: I made it a reservation for some other hotel in January and they were closed when I arrived. In a panic during homecoming weekend for Northwestern University, I called the Holiday Inn, and Hamid very graciously had a room for four nights for me! At a reasonable price! THANK YOU!!!

We love the location of this hotel and have stayed here several times. Roger at the front desk is super friendly and very accommodating. He is always there (he needs a day off!) and is more than helpful. Our room's door ended up not locking for some reason and Layla from engineering/maintenance came right up and fixed it. Layla was very pleasant and did a great job! We appreciate this hotel and the wonderful service they provide. Thank you!

The location of the hotel is convenient if you don't want to stay in downtown Chicago. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and walkable. Restaurants, groceries, and coffee shops are located within a 5 minute walk. The reception and check in process was more than satisfying. The room was clean but the beds, carpet, and curtains are old and smell bad, it's time for changing them. $18 for overnight parking is quite expensive for that area. The train rails are across the street from the hotel, and I could hear it from the 3rd floor in my room.

I had a mixed experience. At check-in the person at the desk was snarky at best. But at checkout the desk personnel were friendly and helpful - more like I expect from IHG. The room was not memorable but ok I guess. I saw that there is breakfast available but I didn't go. Nearby there is a restaurant open at 8am. And a tavern for dinner. But the location is a bit quiet.

We got a room near the elevator which was possibly what they had for a Saturday night. The room had random items from other guests which did not inspire confidence for cleanliness. It is close to the train but a ways from the city.

The price is reasonable, room is clean and spacious. Paid garage parking $18 per day. Convenient location Evanston downtown, walking distance to lake Michigan. 30 minutes drive to Chief no traffic.

Rotarians, DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Evanston last week. I attempted to iron the pants before a meeting across the street. The iron had melted plastic on the surface. It destroyed a brand new pair of pants. I went down to the lobby to bring the iron and pants to the front desk to inform them of the issue. The person told me the manager would contact me today. Same thing tomorrow. This is poor service. I am IHG Platinum and an Ambassador and I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel for anyone visiting Evanston.

They make you pay to park and pay for a processed frozen breakfast that they do actually heat up for you! As it happens to be booking on a different booking site that just happens to not service desk. Somehow they do reciprocate that into a room behind the elevator and close to the stairs. I really did miss all those trains from my child hood. Altogether never hitting this one again!

A mid experience. I usually stay at Marriott’s Courtyard locations but I picked this hotel for walkability. Here’s what North-Evanston Holiday Inn needs to do for a 5 star from me: - Add USB charging in rooms OR charging blocks & chargers to 24 hour shop in lobby - Add healthy food options, travel toiletries, & beauty products in 24 hour shop -Update website to 11am checkout instead of 12pm checkout - Train staff in hospitality/manners (ie: saying “welcome” “thank you” and “I’m sorry let me fix that for you.” - Fix front desk or room phones or make sure staff answer the phone - Stop using paper for parking passes and dining check in - Place silverware in dining hall or switch to full service dining. It’s weird to have the staff hand me the silverware but I get my own plate for buffet style eating. - Update fitness center (new treadmill, add kettlebells, add mats or rubber flooring, make it bigger) - Turn outdoor pool into an indoor pool OR turn it into a green roof - Clean windows

I always stay here when I'm in Chicago. It's less hassle than trying to find parking downtown Chicago. Its in a quiet, safe neighborhood , surrounding downtown Evenston, with parks, restaurants and shops. The purple/red line L is a block away if you should chose to take it to the city rather than driving. Staff is friendly, rooms are nothing special, and showers are hit or miss with the temperature, but the Air conditioning works very well. Outdoor pool on 3rd floor, you can catch a tan and a swim. Overall, I'd recommend this place. đź‘Ś

We stayed in room 702. They took all the vending machines and I’ve machines off of the odd numbered floors but they don’t tell you that. The room above had previously leaked and the entire ceiling had stains and signs of mold over the bed. When the people above us used the restroom you could hear a drip in the room so it’s likely still leaking which we did notify them. We paid $19.00 a day for a buffet breakfast and they didn’t offer it every day rather said they could send something to our room. When I said I wanted a refund on the breakfasts they only then offered it. Mind you I booked a nicer king size room but when I got there they told me they over booked those rooms and my wife and I had to take the room we got, the smaller double queen bed. Also they have a “heated” pool but it wasn’t heated at all. I love Holiday Inns and prefer them over others but this is by far the worst Holiday Inn we’ve ever stayed at.

The staff at the Holiday Inn Holiday Inn Chicago-North Evanston were a pure delight to work with! Moreover, Krystal the Sales Director and the entire hotel staff were phenomenal! Our group had a wonderful stay there and the Holiday Inn team ensured we weren’t in need of anything. Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful, and impressively accommodating. A special shout out to Roger as well! Overall, the location is perfect, rooms were nice and the upkeep of the property was wonderful. Whenever we’re back in the Chicago area, we will DEFINITELY be staying at Holiday Inn Chicago-North Evanston. Sincerely, Ms. Graham

I am always in and out of Chicago and try to stay at this location when I can. Lots of good food and shops nearby and not too far from the Northwestern campus. Great price, and check-in is always fast and straightforward. One aspect that stood out during this visit was their new receptionist, Tigist. Super friendly and upbeat even when I had a late night check-in that night due to travel delays. Highly recommend!

Terrible value for ~$100 a night. First room we were in did not have a working toilet. Ended up getting moved to another room and guess what? No hot water. Along with all of that, you need a card to get in your room, to access the building from the parking garage, and to work the elevator. That’s totally okay when you’re actually given cards that work. Multiple times my card(s) didn’t work on the readers and I had to get new cards. Customer service kinda sucked but at least they were nice. Would not recommend this hotel.

Based on the pictures, location and 3 star rating, I thought this would be a great place to stay. However, I was not pleased. The hotel is a 2.5 star at best. The attention to detail is lacking. The light switches in my room needed cleaning, lack of warm/hot water in the shower, the bed ruffle looked like a balled up Kleenex and most importantly the lack of access for people with mobility issues. I had to drag my suitcase up the entrance stairs(which I have trouble using). There is a contraption that appeared to be a lift for someone disabled but it was not working. I think it is important to state that when a customer makes a reservation because it is a deal breaker. And I am guessing it is not ADA compliant.

This was our second time staying here and it was terrible the staff is so rude and very lazy. The kid that works in the front that answers phones has a major attitude and is so lazy. We ran out of tissue and asked nicely for more he snapped at me. The water was cold the first room we stayed at they switched us but anytime I asked for something nothing but attitude . They never cleaned our room not once we stayed 6 days too until I asked the housekeeper myself I had asked the front hotel lady and she said she would get someone to but when we got back nothing was done. We’ll never stay here again. The area is nice but the staff have ruined this place. The first time staying the staff was super nice! They must of got new staff they are young, rude, lazy, bad attitudes need to get new staff ASAP!! The only one that was nice was the housekeeper when I asked for the room to be cleaned. Laziest staff I’ve ever seen at a hotel do not recommend at all. They also need to deep clean the room the walls are all dirty had like old food on one. But that’s what happens when young lazy kids run this place. They would get zero stars on room and service but I had no choice but to put one.
